Chapter 1 - Demon Awakening

How...How did this happen to me?! Betrayed by the few I trusted, for what?! To be their blood sacrifice?! No. I won't let this go. I swear that I will get my revenge no matter what I must do. I swear to destroy all the evil in this world so that others won't ever have to feel my pain. They love a demon so much than I'll show them a demon. If only I could stop bleeding out and stay awake. It's a pity... I thought my life had finally taken a turn for the better.... these are Hunter's last thoughts as he stares at the blood pouring from his throat.

Hunter Schmidt, the average Joe, was born in the year 2002 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. Growing up his parents only ever saw him as a stepping stone to increase their own reputations while his siblings saw him as a walking wallet. He wasn't mistreated like most people would think, however he wasn't loved or wanted in the family so he planned to move out and cut off all ties with them once he turned 18.

His school life was average academically, however he was an outcast in the school and everyday his classmates would make fun of him and mistreat him, dumping garbage in his bag, pushing him down the stairs, stealing his books and homework, the harassment goes on and on. Many of the teachers ignored this because they just didn't care and because Hunter never seemed to make a complaint no matter how rough it got. This lead to him being friendless and alone, he never had a girlfriend let alone a crush, and he never experienced any of the sweet high-school moments that make high-school the best years possible. After turning 18 Hunter moved from Detroit to Seattle, Washington; where he began his college life.

He graduated at the age of 22 with an undergrad degree in Biology and got a job at the Seattle Zoo where he met Trevor Short, his first best friend in all his life. The two of them began hanging out going to bars after work, partying on the weekend, and just enjoying life. Trevor brought Hunter into his friend circle where everyone seemed normal and had a great time with each other. 5 years pass and this group of friends go on a camping trip to a log cabin owned by Trevor. It was on this camping trip that Hunter learned the real truth to his supposed friends, they were nothing more than a cult worshipping a demon as a god. They tied Hunter up and set him in the center of a glyph circle where they slit his throat, letting his blood flow into the indentations of the glyph. Thunder rumbled in the sky and in a flash of light Hunter disappeared, not even his blood leaving a trace on the cold concrete floor.

After the world became black Hunter could no longer feel the pain in his throat, the warmth from his blood, nor the coolness of the cement that he had been laying on a few seconds ago. Instead he felt a gentle warmth on his body, as if he was out on a nice summer day. He could feel a softness on his back, a softness that reminded him of the times he would spend laying on the grass wondering what was the point of his life. He could hear the gentle breeze as it rustled the leaves, the songs of the birds as the day passed by... wait! The birds?! Am I not dead?! Hunter opened his eyes suddenly, looking around him at the beautiful green forest that he was in. As he looked around he noticed three other boys lying in the grass beside him, all of them being under the age of ten.

"Morning," the sandy-haired kid said as he eyed Hunter, "We thought we'd let you sleep since you seem to have gone through the transmigration just like us and weren't naturally waking up right away. What's your name kid?"

"What do you mean kid? Where the hell am I?! What the fuck about transmigration?!" Hunter responded.

"Well you appear to be six years old now, and I appear to be eight years old. As to where we are, I think we're in a forest belonging to a world not of our own. My name's Spartacus. My parents where huge fans of the Roman Coliseum even though I'm Greek. I was thirty one years old when I died and woke up here. This is Ian who was twenty nine years old and is from Britain, as you can tell his new body is most likely seven years old now. The other little guy is Orion, who was twenty seven years old and is now six like you; by the way he's from Germany. As you can tell we appear to not have a language barrier even though we come from different countries so I'm thinking we won't have a language barrier if we meet any locals in this world. So what about you? You don't need to tell us your backstory, none of us have shared any of that yet either so just tell us who you are and where you came from, ok bro?" He gestured first to the brunette boy beside him, then to the blonde boy who sat farthest from where Hunter was.

"I'm Hunter, I was twenty seven years old, and I'm from the United States," He stated tersely. "Okay, so how do you know we're all in another world?"

"We can feel it. You should be able to as well. Just close your eyes, and try and feel the energy of your body and then try feeling around you."

Hunter closed his eyes, and began listening to his heartbeat. He breathed in and out, gently and rhythmically, trying to feel the energy of his body and then this world. Crack* In his mind's eye Hunter could see a shadow body similar in shape but not size to him. However there was a golden line traveling through and above his body. A golden line that was as wide as a stream. As he looked at this line of light, he felt the urge to reach out and touch it. The feeling of grasping this light was like that of grasping his fate. It felt both like destiny yet not something that could be done, and yet here he was learning more about the secrets of the cosmos and being enlightened on what he could and should do.

‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------

This part gives more detail about Divinity and gives more information about the first couple of races that will be seen in the next couple of chapters. This part can be skipped however you may not fully understand different "systems" and such in the later couple of chapters.

Races: Human, Demon, Angel, God, Levithian (Descended from the giant Leviathans capable of destroying the world), Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Feniri (Wolf offspring of Fenrir the Savage Wolf), Dire Wolves, Trolls, Beastman, Divine One, Divine Deity.

Divinity is the connection to the cosmos, it allows beings to influence or even become the world, however the true peak of Divinity isn't becoming the world but becoming the world laws which allows for the beings known as Divine Deities to entirely rewrite how the world works, change it's fate, or even create multiple cosmos'. It allows for life, then sentience, than influence of the world (through magic and cultivation), and then finally true immortality.

Divinity Ranking (using most common race found in each realm)(strong to weak):

Divine Deity: The most powerful race in existence, the Divinity found in them is as large as the cosmos, what they do is permanent and can't be changed by even others of their own kind. Only downside is very few exist with many of them slumbering or with memory loss, and new Deities are born from the mortal races that became Divine Ones. They become stronger through training, comprehension, and values.

Primordial: It's a deity race that has come to be a world or realm, a few of the stronger ones have even become minor world laws. Their Divinity is the size of an ocean. This race can never truly be killed, unless a Divine Deity destroys it's very being. They can reshape the world, however if a combination of powerful lesser races work together they can render the Primordial's change as non-permanent. This race can become stronger as long as their embodiment is "healthy". Can become any world type, and can alter other worlds not in their domain.

Titan: A deity race that has unbridled power and capable of causing mass carnage. This race can be killed in the sense of destroying it's physical body however, lesser races have little to no chance of destroying its very being. This race has a Divinity that's equivalent to the size of a sea. Other races can change what the Titans have done as long as they have enough Divinity "strength" to do so. This race can become stronger if they have followers worshipping them. Can influence immortal worlds, and are born from the Abyss.

Mortal Races-

Gods: A deity race that isn't truly immortal. They have a divinity the size of varying lakes. This race can become stronger as long as they have more worshipers, however they will be drastically weakened should they have little to no followers. They can influence how the mortal world acts however they can not influence the immortal worlds like Titans and up. This race is normally considered immortal however lesser races can kill their very being by destroying what the god represents after removing all it's followers or ripping out their Divine Sparks.

Leviathans: With a Divinity of a raging river, these creatures are capable of impacting large areas of mortal worlds and have a natural lingering effect that causes their Divinity influence to be able to alter the world, only races above Leviathan can cancel it's world change. This race has either been locked away in remote places or sealed away in Purgatory. It is not considered an immortal race thanks to Atelloo, however it is still quite difficult for mortal races below dragons to kill them. They gain strength by the amount of the world they change, destroy, or claim.

Angels: Also considered an immortal race by lesser races, but mortal compared to higher races. However it's very being can be destroyed. It has a Divinity the size of a gentle creek, and a single Angel is incapable of influencing an entire mortal world, let alone a single continent. They are incapable of gaining strength by having believers.

Demons: Has a Divinity the size of a stream, and it takes multiple demons to influence a swath of mortal land the size of a city capable of holding one hundred thousand people. This race can grow stronger by following their innate natures, whether it's punishing sinners, guiding mortal emotions, or taking mortal souls through deals.

Humans: Has a Divinity the size of their pinky. They rely on technology to influence the world around them. Because of limited Divinity this race does not live long. They are also the weakest comprehensive race when it comes to the amount of Divinity in them.

Non-comprehensive: These are races that live only by their instincts, they find it difficult to influence and change the world around them. The Divinity is the size of pencil lead. This also includes many of the plant races and basic animal life (non-monster based creatures)

Non-sentient: This isn't a race however it's good to know that all elements have a Divinity that is as thin as that of a strand of hair. A rock has a strand of Divinity and over time if lucky enough the Divinity can grow, allowing the rock to evolve and gain sentience by turning into a rock giant.

Divine One: It is a mortal that has awoken it's Divinity and is on it's path to becoming a Divine Deity. The Divine One will start off with the Divinity the size belonging to the race it relates to and embodies. Only mortal races below Demon can awaken to their Divinity, and once awoken some of the Divine Ones can end up representing a higher race. Hunter was human on Earth however his primal desire of wanting to punish evil lead to him awakening his Divinity and turning him into a Divine Demon. This means he is a demon however he can continue getting stronger until he reaches Divine Deity in which case he would become the Devine Demon Deity.
