'' Alright, so what is your campaign pitch going to be?'' asks Avery curiously, seeing that her son's brain of foggy interest Is back in the big city of New York. Avery's one question that she has been asking herself is why Liam let her go back to Brooklyn and not have the guts to go after Hazel & fight what's his?
''Huh, oh sorry mom, what did you say?'' asks Liam as he was not listening to what his mom just said?
''I said, what is your campaign pitch going to be for the election? After all, It is only a few days away, and we barely have anything pitched on why you are running for mayor plus why the town of Peppermint should vote for you?'' asks Avery thinking how good it will be to list mayor along with business owners, doctors, nurses, & legal enforcement.
''To beat Blake Moore for starters after he almost kicked Tom out of the Christmas play when he wasn't speaking' 'states Liam wanting to get even. I mean, the boy was upset the night of his mom's anniversary of the day she died,'' I get that, but any other reason that doesn't seem high school rivalry to make this town want to vote for you? Also secondly, do you think it's a smart idea to be adding more responsibility on top of everything else you have going on with already being sheriff of this town along being a father ''tells Avery is concerned that he might be putting more on his plate than what he can handle at the moment?
''I'm sure that if I well balance it, I can easily handle both somehow"states Liam is determined to make it all work with being town sheriff as well the mayor of Peppermint.
''I will support you in whatever you want to, as you know that. Now, if you were elected mayor, what would some changes you want to change or improve in the town?'' asks Avery, curiously preparing him for the possible questions he could be asked. Also, these are some things that could be included in his campaign? ''I would say make safer crosswalks near all of the schools because I feel that our crosswalks are not the safest,'' states Liam, really thinking about everything he notices around his hometown ever since Thomas started school. He never saw himself in these things until he became a parent himself. Avery then writes it down,'' I like that so what's next, and I definitely agree with you for the safety of Thomas as well as the other children in our town community, what's else do you have in mind?'' asks Avery curiously wanting to know what else her son has in his pitch? ''' I want to make sure that our town budgets wisely to where we are also focusing on our school's budget for sports, clubs, and school supplies that way, all students have what they need to succeed in every aspect and aren't missing out on anything ''states Liam not only thinking as a potential elected mayor but also as a parent himself.Definitely agree with you on that for sure is there anything else? I would recommend three potential pitches just in case Blake Moore has that many; it could make it to where you are a dropped candidate ''tells Avery making sure that her son is; well prepared.''Yes, my final one is to make sure that all the earnings from The Maple Festival go towards, Peppermint Children's Hospital for sick children. Seeing that Zoey made sure the money went towards the sick children in need. I want to make things don't change, and we continue to support children in need''tells Liam as he cares deeply about the town that he grew up in, wanting to continue to improve the town's community & value.
''Excellent choices, plus with you also being the sheriff that will set you apart from Blake Moore. Plus, between you and me, I don't think he even truly cares about this town the way you just pitched your ideas to me ''tells Avery knowing everyone is sure to vote for the town's sheriff. Liam smiles ''you have to say that your my mom. Maybe having my mom as my campaign manager wasn't the smartest move, ''states Liam as he walks out of the cafe. Avery then gets up and tells Holly to save their table before following her son outside.'' I'm not saying this as your mom, and It's because it's the truth; everyone in this town will surely vote for you because it will show how you truly care about making our town a great place to live to the new generations and possibly to Thomas's children & who knows possibly grandchildren if he decides to create a life in Peppermint who knows but I think that you will be an excellent mayor. I am not only saying this as your mom but also a citizen of our town' 'states Avery.
''Yeah, I know but what if I don't make it ''states Liam as he doesn't have his number one support system by his side.''Let me ask you something: what would Zoey be saying to you right now if she were here?'' asks Avery curiously, thinking one person who can easily change his perspective on things.
'' I am capable of achieving anything, and I am her strong, sexy sheriff' 'tells Liam to his mom.
''Liam ''says Avery as she didn't need to know, every detail of that sentence and wishes that she could erase this from her memory. She did not need to know her late daughter-in-law's nickname, for her son used to be back when Zoey was alive.
''What?'' asks Liam wondering what his mom is about to say, although Liam does have a perfect idea of what his mom is thinking right at this very moment.
''Way too much information, that I didn't need to know, by the way'' says Avery as when she now looks at her little boy she thinks of him as a strong sexy sheriff.
''What you asked of what Zoey would have said to me, so I told you exactly what she used to say to me ''States Liam.
''I know it's just when I think you know that's literally all I picture, which as a mom is disturbing, ''says Avery.
''Alright, well, next time. I will be less descriptive next time. However, you also asked, so technically, I am only half of the blame, ''says Liam.
''Okay, let's just focus on what Zoey used to tell you whenever you used to feel when you couldn't do or achieve something. She is right; you know on that fact that you are capable of achieving anything and then I will ignore the part of the strong, sexy sheriff part ''says Avery wishing that her beautiful daughter in law were still here. It would definitely make things a lot easier, and it would put Liam in better mind space, which he would be if the woman he liked or possibly loves weren't five hours away from here.
''Yeah, your right''says Liam admitting for once that someone was right beside his late wife, which he would almost half the time admit to Zoey that she was right about everything, which made her smile and fold her arms to prove a point that she was always right and kept her family in line.
''I'm sorry, I am right, the only person you ever admitted that to was Zoey; how did those words taste coming out of your mouth?'' asks Avery smiling that for once, her son admitted that someone else was right another than him.
''Very weird actually and maybe a little bit of bitter-tasting actually, ''admits Liam.
