On the way back from his grief counseling session, Liam feels very different at the moment, as there isn't all of this weight on his six-pack muscular chest that has very much. Been sitting there since December 9 th 2009, the day his best friend left him.Even though he did not find out about her death until on the 11th when he returned from his buddy's weekend. Does he still wonder why he ever is genuinely ready to move on? I mean, yes, he does still have feelings for Hazel, but neither one of them has contacted each other in over a month?
Was it just the spark of all of the holiday spirit clouding their judgment of clarity? To where let's face it, they come from two completely worlds? It will be a miracle if two planets will ever collide, to where it feels like they are in the same universe?
Or even close to being?
They seemed so right for each other, to where it felt as god was sending him a gift from above when Hazel arrived in Peppermint for the very first time. As his phone goes off and sees a text from Hazel '' hey there, I still owe you a date in the city? Wanna meet up this weekend?''.
Liam then smirks and thinks Thomas is with Zoey's parents tonight, as he calls up Caleb ''hey man, you wanna meet up and grab a drink?'' asks Liam on the phone. With the need to talk to someone who isn't going to discourage, anything on his mind, which usually happens after he talks to one of his parents. Especially now, after receiving a text from Hazel in over a month now, he doesn't want any negative energy clouding his judgment on whether to go to the city and have that date with Hazel or not?
''Sure you wanna head to the usual place?'' asks Caleb wondering if he would be up for it, seeing that they went there all time back when his little sister was still alive? To where it might bring back a lot of heart-aching & painful memories that might be hard for Liam to handle. They haven't been there that much in the last year.
''I'll meet you there in a few minutes ''says Liam.
''See you there, brother. I'll save you a seat at the bar, ''says Caleb
Liam arrives at the bar as he sees Caleb at the right side of the bar, saving the empty barstool next to him. Along with two beers in front of him for the both of him,'' hey man, and thanks for meeting me, I appreciate seeing that I don't want to talk to my parents or sister about this topic seeing that it involves Hazel''states Liam sitting down on the barstool.
''No probs, brother, and what about Hazel? Have you heard from her, as Liam shows Caleb the text message, which would be a yes ''states, Caleb?
''I'm not sure what I do; I mean she and I have been freezing each other out for a month now, although, on the other hand, I have missed her, and we did talk about having a date in the city. When I went there after she left town with a note ''says Liam was unsure of what to do in this situation even though he likes her? Is it the best decision?
''Look man you were unique to my little sister and were with her for almost eighteen years plus; you have been a gentleman and as well a prince since you and Zoey were five years old. I think it's time for you to feel that same connection with Hazel''admits Caleb.
''She told you about how I saved her a seat back on the first day of Kindergarten?'' asks Liam curiously, not knowing how much his late-wife told her family on the day they met when they were five?
''Oh yes she did, and to be honest, I wanted to find you the day, Zoey came home from her first day of Kindergarten that she already liked a boy in her class; I tried to find you. Yet what seven-year-old knows how to find the boy whom his baby sister likes ''states Caleb.
''Makes me wonder what would happen if you did?'' chuckles Liam.
''I would call Hazel back and tell her that you agree on spending time with Hazel in New York you could even make it a weekend I bet. It would give you two more time together perhaps, possibly even draw a further connection between you two ''says Caleb taking a sip of his beer.
''Yeah maybe. but what about what your parents are gonna think in all of this?''I mean on Christmas eve when your mom got a glimpse of Hazel and me kissing she was so offended by it, and the last thing I want is your parents trying to take my son away from me?'' questions Liam scared on what will happen if he goes further in this possible relationship with Hazel?
''My parents would never do that, you're a great dad, and what you do in your personal & love life is no one else's business. Plus I will make them see that this is the right thing for you if I have to because you will always be family my brother always ''states Caleb.
''You're right and thanks man, and he pulls out his phone and calls Hazel,'' hey about that date in the city how's this weekend ''states Liam ready to commit to this relationship and there is no more backing down.
''That's perfect I can show around, along with my favorite places in the city. I mean I haven't really explored many places in the last four years, however. I have ventured my way around Brooklyn from time to time,it will definitely make your hometown, become a lot smaller than actually think it is'' says Hazel on the other end of the phone.
