Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A day in town (part one)

After I was excused for the thrown room I made my way back to my room, when I entered my room I saw Ava had just finished making my bed. I went and sat in the Sofia in the main part of my room. She asked me how it went and I told her what happened.

"It'll be okay, I'm sure you'll find someone great at the ball." She said trying to comfort me.

"But the spring ball is only a week away, there is no way I'll be able to change fathers mind." I said the sadness evident in my voice.

"How about we go into town and look around a little to cheer you up?" Ava asked.

I jumped up off the bed full of excitement and half way yelled "What are we waiting for then?"

Ava just looked at me a laughed a little. After about 20 minutes of me freshening up and the carriage being prepared we headed into town. When we got into town and out of the carriage people started to bow when they saw me.

"Please rise" I said not liking being treated as I am better than them just because of the family I was born into.

As we were walking around we came upon a dress store full of some of the best dresses I had seen.

"Ava we should look in here for my dress to the spring ball." I stated. Ava looked at me and said "As you wish your majesty" she said halfway joking knowing that I don't like being treated differently.

When we entered the store I saw the light baby blue dress with lace on the top and threw the middle. I walked over to it and asked Ava what she thought about it.

"I think it would look lovely on you, Lisa." She said

I went over to the shop keeper and asked her if the dress was for sell. She said it was and asked to purchase it.

"Here's your change your highness" she said in a kind voice.

"Keep the change, I insist." I told her

"But your highness this it too much to keep." She said trying to give me the money.

"Keep it please, you probably spent a lot of time in this dress, and it turned out amazing so you deserve it." I said smiling at her.

"Thank you, your highness, have blessed afternoon." She said smiling back.

As me and Ava excited the small store I handed the packaged dress to one of my guards to put in the carriage. We started to walk around again, then a little boy ran into me.

"Why hello there, are you okay?" I asked him as he started to stand up.

"Yes, yes I'm fine, thank you." He replied still looking at the ground while getting up. He was a small boy that looked to be no older than 7 or 8.

"May I ask why you were running?" I asked the boy.

"Mind your business lady." He replied quickly with a cold tone.
