They could tell that these knights are really capable because even with the number and danger they are facing, they were calm and only a few were injured by the onslaught of attacks.
"Allow me to help you," Nixon approached the injured ones.
Using his water, he was able to help heal their wounds.
"You're a gifted water ability user?" Hamlet asked as the rest were in awe.
Nixon grinned, "I may not look like it but yep I am indeed."
Gifted water ability users are those that are capable of healing while those who are not were known as simply water ability users.
Of course, he would be gifted.
Black Tortoise was the ruler of water abilities after all.
"Yeah he is gifted but his face says he was not that no one could really say that he was," Stormie spoke up on the side.
"What do you mean my face?" Nixon asked instantly.
"I wonder what I mean with your face?"
"Oh are you really going to talk about gift now?" Nixon paused before asking with a teasing tone.
He bobbed his brows up and down and Stormie instantly understood what he meant.
She couldn't help but to glance at Saphira who was talking with Hunter and Willow who was sitting beside Drake but both were simply silent.
"You dare!!" she run to him and the two of them run around teasing one another.
The knights laughed at how they were not scared of anything but was instead able to relax enough to tease one another.
"Watch-"
Hamlet wanted to call out when a demonic tiger suddenly appeared beside the two of them and demonic monkeys came down from above them.
Even the other knights stood up abruptly.
But their worries were for a naught because when the demonic beasts appeared, Nixon helped Stormie jumped up using his hands before pulling out his sword and fighting against the tiger.
Stormie used wind arrows to hit the monkeys midair, she pulled out her sword as she was falling directly towards the tiger that was half injured by Nixon already.
Her sword pierced through its head, killing it.
Nixon used water to help heal the scratch one monkey caused on her arm.
"You really don't need to worry sir. We may seem like children who plays around but we never let our guard down in any kind of situation," Hunter walked over.
Seeing the shock look in their faces, he could only explain.
They can feel that these knights are kind enough to still treat them as children.
No mockery or looking down at them for their age.
"I guess we really need to reassess your group," Hamlet commented.
"Then do you mind sparring with me sir?" Hunter asked.
"Once we return I'll gladly spar with you," Hamlet agreed.
The patrol went on until the night.
Meeting other demonic beasts before they could finally return.
"I'll go and check the samples that we have," Ridge nudged his glasses up and said walking straight to the tent.
"His a poison ability user right?" one knight asked Drake who was closest to him.
Drake nodded his head, "Yes."
"What is he planning with the samples?" he asked.
"We have collected samples in order to know where the poison are most potent. We have known that the giant beast has poison in its body, we also know that the beast could stay in the water and land. The best we can do is search for where the beast could have been staying."
The place where the poison was the most potent is most likely the closest place where the beast stays. This way they will not receive too much shock in it appearing.
The knight nodded in understanding, ever since the giant beast appeared they were always on edge as to where it would suddenly appear.
They were most on guard in the forest where it had caused so much casualties.
But what if it weren't really staying there?
They actually didn't thought deeply about that.
"You guys really are something else," the knight commented.
"No, all five of us were able to come up with more ideas because the other two are capable enough to think differently. They are the real amazing ones," Drake answered.
He may hate Saphira but her capabilities are enough to gain his respect.
Though he will never ever say this to her or to the others.
Even as children, he looks up to her and Hunter.
Because despite the young age, they do things differenly.
They train properly and study properly and sometimes they do it more than the others.
Even with her laziness, Saphira was never lacking in the diligence that they need.
Hunter who never wanted to lag behind, would be pulled along by her.
That is why, if they were to be asked, all of them will say the same thing.
The most gifted among them despite not holding a mythological beast was Saphira.
She can learn fast and can memorize everything she read once.
But because of this gift she also developed the laziness that she has now.
Though it was said that in the past, even the other members of Fiamma family had this trait as well.
"I see," the knight nodded.
"Do you mind to spar with me?" Drake looked at him and asked.
Since they already have the chance, they could train more with different kinds of knights.
The knight smiled and agreed readily.
On the other side, Hunter started his spar with Hamlet and some came to watch.
"Oh, I see that rumors aren't true."
Saphira looked to her side when someone spoke beside her.
He was a man with black hair and blue eyes. He looks like he was in his early thirties, older than Hamlet.
"Hi, I am Captain Ezekiel, one of the three captains from Black squad," he extended his hand towards her.
"It is an honor to meet you sir," Saphira respectfully replied shaking his hand.
"May I know what your name is?" he asked her.
"Saphira, sir. The name of this knight is Saphira."
"Well knight Saphira, what do you say you spar with me? The other members of your team are already sparring with some other people," he gestured towards the surrounding.
Saphira looked around and it was true, she could even see that the rest are fighting some other knights with different colored badges.
"Not everyone seems to be looking down at us," she commented.
"Most are surely doing it but there are those who can see that you guys aren't here to play," Ezekiel gestured that they walk towards a different spot.
"We are lucky then, we could train more," she answered following him.
The place they went to was an open spot not near but not far from the main camp.
Beside it was a river.
"I'm amazed," Ezekiel said pulling out his sword.
"About what sir?" she asked pulling hers as well.
"Most knights once they see my badge and heard of me being a captain would have a nervous look once I invite them for a spar. But you remained calm all the way," he commented.
"You see sir, I love it. I love facing more and more people no matter how far apart our strengths are. Because then I would know just what my current capability is and how far I can still go," she replied with a smile.
She squatted down when Ezekiel appeared before her wth his sword swinging from one side to the other as if trying to cut her head off.
She stood up fast while her sword was pointed towards his throat, to which Ezekiel jumped backward to evade.
Saphira rushed forward following this and came slashing her sword from his upper side.
Ezekiel used his to parry this while giving her a kick.
Saphira was hit on the side and was sent towards a tree.
But the moment she hit the tree, she didn't dilly dally and jumped to the side ending with his sword smashing on the tree trunk instead of her body.
Saphira jumped forward after her one foot landed when she side jumped.
Ezekiel's sword was stuck a bit on the trunk that the hilt of her sword hit him in the shoulder.
He pulled out his sword before giving her an elbow attack, to which she stopped with her arm but still she ended up being pushed back.
The way they attacked weren't as simple as a sparring.
It even caused some explosions on the ground and the trees surrounding them, even the rocks were smashed.
It took a while before both of them jumped backward.
Ezekiel wiped the blood on the side of his lips while Saphira was looking more battered.
"I am commending you, only a few of the new knights were capable of still standing after a long bout with me."
Saphira spit out some blood before replying, "But I guess with how my body looks, I still am lacking."
Ezekiel laughed, he commented that she was stronger than most of the knights but she replied that she was still lacking.
"I must tell you not even that Hamlet brat could stand after our bout," he pointed out.
