Volleyball: Invented by men, perfected my women.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
I slammed my hand on my phone, struggling to turn my alarm off. After what seemed like minutes, I finally turned it off, and climbed out of bed, and went straight to the shower.
I did my hygiene things, combed out my hair, put some hair cream in, and let the rest air dry.
I went to my closet and put on an oversized black graphic tee, grey sweatpants, my white Air Force 1's, and my gold chain. I didn't do anything special for make up except for eyeliner and mascara, and my lip balm.
I grabbed my book bag, stuffed my I.D, and phone in there, grabbed my keys, and headed downstairs.
My parents always left a little after me, so they were sitting in the kitchen watching the early morning news.
"I'm out!" I yelled out, grabbing a pop tart.
The breezy September air slapped me in the face the minute I stepped outside. I'm glad it's getting cooler outside. I miss being able to wear my sweaters and hoodies.
I got in the car, and immediately plugged my phone into the AUX cord and turned on Weekend by Mac Miller.
I stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for an iced coffee and a glazed donut.
Traffic was pretty light on the streets, so I decided to take that instead of the expressway.
I made it to school thirty minutes early, which is pretty unusual for me, but it gave me time to finish my food. I got to my locker, took out my 1st-3rd period books. Since we aren't allowed to carry our book bags during school, I put that in my locker, making sure not to forget my computer, phone, or headphones.
I headed to the Commons to finish eating. Not a lot of people were here yet because it was pretty early, and people didn't start coming until ten minutes before the bell rang.
I pulled out my donut and just as I was about to bite into it, "Isabell Hooker, please report to the Dean's office immediately." I looked around to see everyone staring at me. I rolled my eyes. So dramatic, I thought.
I asked some random girl to watch my things while I went to the office. When I got down there I saw two blonde boys, who looked really familiar. Then it clicked. Crap, I forgot about them coming here.
I walked in, and the Dean stopped talking, "Isabella, I would like for you to meet, Aaron and Adam Kennedy."
I nodded my head, "Hi, nice to meet you."
"Would you be okay, showing them around this week?" My eyes widened in surprise.
Week??
"I-um sure." My answer sounded more like a question, but Dean nodded her head in approval.
"Good," she turned her head to the boys, "She is one of the top students in the senior class, and plays volleyball."
"Volleyball?" Adam spoke up, "You do know that volleyball was invented by men." His Italian accent was pretty strong considering they moved here in their early teens.
"It may have been invented by men, but it was perfected by women." I shot back.
"Nah, from what I've seen, you guys haven't done much perfecting." This boy is really pushing it.
"Maybe in your-
"That's enough you two." Dean interrupted me.
"Sorry, Dean" Adam and I mumbled simultaneously.
Dean handed the boys their schedules, "Now Izzy, I want you to show them their lockers, and their classes. Even if they don't have the same class as you, you must take them to their next class." I forced my self not to roll my eyes, "As for lunch? They can make their choice on who they sit with if they make friends."
I wrapped my arm around Aaron's shoulder, trying to be as nice as possible, "You can count on me Dean." I beamed.
Nodding her head in approval, "That's all I wanted to hear."
When I got back to the Commons to get my things back, I noticed that everyone was staring at me-well, behind me. I rolled my eyes.
"C'mon," I mumbled, grabbing both of them while trying to juggle my food and books in my hand.
After dropping my books off in my class, I took them to their lockers, then showed them where their classes were. They had most of their classes together, except Aaron had an advanced art class and Adam had some music class that I didn't even know existed.
But they do have homeroom with me which makes my life easier
"So, do you guys play any sports?"
"I play basketball, and Adam swims." Aaron said. Wow, I thought they both played soccer or something like that.
I mumbled a cool under my breath, and went back to class.
"Isabella Renee Hooker!" I chuckled to myself as Mya called me by my full name.
"Mya Elizabeth Thomas!" I mocked her.
"Hey Aaron, and Aaron's brother." she stared at Adam a little more, "Hey, you're that boy from that party!"
"It's Adam, and yea, that's me." He smirked.
"Anyways Iz, Court-
"Well, well, well." Mya was suddenly interrupted. I turned my head to see Destiny Robinson, and her crew . "Look who we have here." I huffed in annoyance.
"What do you want Destiny?" I asked, "I don't think they want your herpes infested fingers touching them."
"Well actually, I wouldn't mind." Adam said, making Aaron elbow him in the stomach. I rolled my eyes.
Destiny is what you call the "queen bee". I didn't think this school had one until my sophomore year. I had just transferred to De La Salle, and I wanted to try out for the volleyball team. It was a second try out for anyone who missed the first one. There were about 20 spots on the team, and there were only two spots left; the coach was looking for a middle and an outside hitter. At the time, I didn't think I was good enough to be a middle, so I tried out to be an outside.
We were playing a 6 on 6, and Destiny was on the other team as their right side. When she went up to block my hit, she ended up getting a facial, or what most people call a six-pack. Overall, she didn't appreciate me accidentally hitting her in the face, so she stormed out of tryouts, and to this day, she still blames me for ruining her tryouts.
Ever since that incident, she moved on to cheerleading, and she plays club ball, but for a different club; our rival club, Lions Jrs. It's not even one specific team that's good-literally all of their teams are good. Their 14s team went against an 18s team at qualifiers, and won. I can't even think of a time when they lost a match.
She chuckled, "And who are you?"
"Adam, and this is my brother Aaron."
"Ohh, you two must be the new kids. Where are you guys from?"
"Italy, and we've lived here for about 10 years." Aaron explained.
"Really? I'm from Australia." Chasity, one Destiny's friend said. It looked like Aaron was about to say something but Destiny cut him off.
"Whatever," she turned back to me, "Just stay out of my way Isabella,"
I rolled my eyes at her using my full name, "What do you think I've been doing for the past two years?"
She rolled her eyes, and stormed away, with her crew trying to catch up with her. I huffed, and turned to see both Aaron and Adam smirking at me.
I scrunched up my face, "What?" They shook their head, laughing at me. I playfully rolled my eyes, "Lets get going before we're late."
Today is going to be a long day.
