Sleeping had been a very hard task for Alexia. She had spent most of the night awake, tossing and turning in her bed. The fact that she had seen crimson red orbs spying on her last night had not been in any way comforting.
This meant that The Odd Ones Out could easily break into the Hunter Clan. They could easily come and go as they pleased. They could come unnoticed. This meant she wasn't safe.
She had to find a way out of this. Those guys could easily kidnap her anytime they wanted and do with her as they pleased.
She finally sat up from her bed. The sun's rays touched her skin. It was coming in through her balcony. She smiled. She enjoyed the warmth of the sun on her skin. It always gave her a form of happiness that she couldn't comprehend. It had always been like that since her childhood.
She got off her bed and decided to have her bath. When she finished, she got dressed in a pair of denim pants, a white T-shirt that stopped above her navel and a pair of combat boots. She was always ready to fight.
She went to her table and saw her knives. Seeing them brought a big smile to her face. She had missed those weapons. She hadn't used or touched them in two days but now, nothing was stopping her from having them.
She inserted two into her boots. She had a knife belt which she inserted every other knife into. Then she wore them around her waist. She packed her hair up into a messy bun and exited her room.
She smelt her mother's food before she even got to the end of the stairs. Her mother was a good cook. After all, she was a stay at home mom like every other woman in the Hunter's clan. It was expected of her to have such skills.
Alexia happily entered the kitchen and took her seat by the dinning table. Aaron soon joined them and took his place as well.
"What's for breakfast honey?" Aaron asked.
"I didn't make anything complicated today. Just pancakes and egg sauce," Lucy answered cheerfully.
Alexia enjoyed the mood in the kitchen. It made her forget the mood she had awoken with.
Lucy brought the food to the table and served them. Then she sat beside her husband and gave him extra attention.
"You look quite pale today Alexia," Lucy commented as she filled a glass with milk for her husband.
"Didn't have a good sleep, I guess," Alexia answered.
"I'm sorry all this is happening right now but sweetheart, you have to accept it. The sooner you do, the better for us all," Aaron advised.
"Are you indirectly trying to tell me to accept Damon as my mate?" Alexia pointed out the obvious.
"The Goddess of Light knows best," Lucy answered.
Alexia laughed. "You both are amazing to me. I keep asking myself this question over and over again. Who's side are you on exactly?" Alexia asked.
"I'm on the side that believes in doing the right thing. Following the prophecy is the right thing," Aaron pressed on.
"So if the prophecy says I should jump to my death then, should I go on and do it?" Alexia demanded.
"The prophecy would never ask you to do anything like that. The prophecy comes from the goddess of Light herself. She would never write anything stupid," Her father explained.
"You know what, suddenly, I've Lost my appetite! I think you people have finally lost it!" Alexia roared in anger.
"Watch your tone young lady! You didn't have the right to talk to your father like this! Show him some respect!" Lucy scolded her.
Alexia began to mumble under her breath. This was so annoying. She was tired of all the talks about Damon! She didn't want anything to do with him yet her parents kept bringing him up into their conversation each time they got the chance.
"All we're trying to tell you is to hear us out! We're your parents and we know what's right for you. Give Damon a chance. Try to work it out. You have to," Lucy scolded.
"I don't care what you say or do. I won't have anything to do with that Werewolf! I don't even want to think about his skin being close to mine! I'm done!" Alexia exclaimed.
She stood up abruptly and dashed out of the house. She raced through the streets and stopped at the gates as she waited for it to be opened for her.
When it eventually did, she stepped out of the place and started to hike through the woods. She was pissed. She was so angry with everyone and everything. The only thing that could make her feel better was if she took down a creature and killed it. She kept marching angrily through the woods as she scanned and searched it to see if there could even be an animal to take down.
She kept walking until she felt something. As if someone was watching. She increased her pace and the feeling only increased. It felt as if she was being followed by someone.
"Show yourself!" Alexia called.
Still no one showed up. It was just her in the middle of the woods under the sunlight. She decided to remain still and analyse who it could be.
It couldn't be Vampires because they couldn't stand the sun. Warlocks and witches like to show off their power when they are close by. So it had to be a werewolf. Was it Damon? Would Damon even stalk her? Then she gasped. What if it was those guys and they had come to finally get her back. She exhaled deeply.
"I don't have time for mind games. Show yourself! What do you want?" Alexia tried again.
This time she heard twigs snap behind her. She turned swiftly and was met face to face with the red head.
The same redhead who had once been her friend. The same red head who had betrayed her. The same redhead she had been looking for all these years.
"Ciara," She spat in disgust.
Ciara smirked as she also said, "Alexia."
Alexia seeing her standing there stirred up emotions that had been buried. It opened up old wounds and it burned like the day it happened. It stung her insides and caused an angry shiver to wash over her.
"I must say, you have guts," Alexia said.
"So do you," Ciara answered.
"I'm not the one standing so close to the Hunter's clan. It's dangerous for you. I wonder what brings you here," Alexia said.
"Oh stop showing me fake sympathy. I know you wouldn't care any less if I was torn limp to limp. I think you would actually enjoy it," Ciara retorted.
Alexia pasted a small smile on her face. "I would enjoy every bit of it actually."
Alexia still couldn't believe that the one she had been seeking this whole time was standing right before her. She had fantasized in all the many ways that she would kill her, should they cross paths.
Now as Ciara stood before her, Alexia couldn't agree on one way to kill Ciara. She was pictured throwing a knife at her throat and ending Ciara's pathetic speech forever. She also pictured herself stabbing Ciara twice and at once with two knives. She pictured delivering Ciara to the other hunters. They would enjoy ending her life.
Ciara hadn't realised how much of a danger she was in. Alexia smiled to herself.
"What's making you smile a lot? Did you miss me? I know you to be a loner. I'm sure you still don't have any friends up until now," Ciara teased as she started to circle Alexia.
Alexia did the same. They were now circling each other in the clearing they stood in. Dried leaves crunched as their boots came atop them. Even the air carried tension with it.
Enemies had finally met.
"Is this how much you care about me? Too bad. I spent most of my time fantasizing about how I would end your life rather than thinking about making friends. My happiness will come only when my knife is soaked in your blood," Alexia smiled with satisfaction.
"How sweet, you think about me a lot. Too bad, your fantasies will never come to life. I'll kill you before it happens," Ciara threatened as they went on circling each other.
Alexia laughed hard. Ciara was underestimating her. Ciara still thought of her as the girl she knew ten years ago. But she was wrong. Alexia had gotten more stronger as the years passed. She could end Ciara's life in the brink of an eye but Alexia refused to. She wanted to toy with her prey. She wanted to enjoy every part of it because she had spent so long looking for her.
She was finally going to have her revenge on the monster that betrayed her.
"What exactly brought you here Ciara?"
