Chereads / Werewolf Huntress / Chapter 4 - Four

Chapter 4 - Four

Alexia kept muttering profanities under her breath as she followed her father to the White Flame Pack.

"It's not gonna be so bad," her father said.

A "hmph" sound was all she gave him as she continued mumbling under her breath.

"But darling, why did the blue flame continuously burn you until you almost passed out?"

Alexia rolled her eyes. Her mother has been asking her this same question for the past four days now and she has raised the issue again.

Alexia had forgotten how powerful the blue flame can be since she has never used it before. She had sworn to not hurt any supernatural being till she left the house but still the flame burnt her.

She deceived the flame by thinking of good things she would do to the supernatural beings but the flame still burnt her.

When she almost passed out from the intense pain she finally gave up all thoughts of revenge till after she left the packhouse, that was the only way she wasn't burnt.

"We're here!" her father announced.

Alexia stepped out of the car and gaped at the monstrosity before her. It was a fucking huge castle that could house generations of children.

No wonder they had suggested this packhouse, she mused.

The castle was painted in cream color with a lot of wolf and moon decorations. The gate had wicked spikes and the house was already piling with people.

A lot of people.

A shiver of excitement raced through her spine and she felt the adrenaline of killing supernatural beings kick in but winced as she felt the sharp pain.

Another disadvantage of the blue flame. When she thought of hurting any supernatural being inside the packhouse she got burned again.

"Get rid of that thought, Alexia," her father said roughly.

Alexia rolled her eyes. "Relax dad. I just got excited and a little carried away."

Her father eyed her critically before he ushered her in with her mother. She purposely stayed behind to observe everyone when she heard her father's comments on someone whose back was turned to them.

When he turned towards them, he took her breath away.

She gasped as she stared into ocean blue eyes. It was the brightest blue she had ever seen and it made her think she was drowning in the sea.

His powerful biceps flexed in her mind and she gazed at his chest lost in a trance. She dreamed of his fingers caressing her and his lips gracing her body.

Then the next word she heard brought her out of her trance.

"Mine!"

It was a rough growl and she blinked twice before she noticed that the sexy hunk was staring at her.

Her father too was staring at her. All eyes were on her and she suddenly felt very self-conscious.

"Mine!" he repeated.

Then her brain clicked. "Excuse me?"

"You belong to me and nobody else," he growled.

Alexia chuckled. "Stop acting like a caveman and don't ever address me as yours. I belong to nobody."

The sexy hunk blinked and then realization suddenly dawned on him.

"You're my mate," he explained.

Audible gasps were heard in the room and Alexia couldn't help but wonder why. Then suddenly something clicked in her head.

Only werewolves use the term 'mates' so that means this guy is a wolf.

"I'm sorry you're mistaken, Alpha Damon but my daughter isn't your mate," her father said sharply.

Alexia nodded her head. She was right about him being a werewolf but she didn't know he was an Alpha.

The Alpha Damon guy cocked his head and stared at her father then shrugged.

"I'm feeling the mate bond."

Everyone in the room chuckled and Alexia wondered why.

"Alpha Damon in case you're forgetting your mate died three years ago," a young redhead who stood by his side said, staring daggers at her.

Alexia wondered why she didn't notice the woman on time because the woman was so stunning and it appears she was his lover.

Then suddenly she gasped as the face came into focus. Her mind reeled back to memories and her anger-fueled up to the surface.

"Even if she is your daughter it doesn't matter. You're the hunter not her," he stated.

A snicker was heard in the crowd and Alexia smirked. He wouldn't see it coming right? And she could finally fulfill her promise to her grandparents.

"She's a huntress, Damon," the girl beside him said.

Alexia took three steps towards her and stopped. "Long time no see, Ciara."

The redhead who had been her best friend a while ago snickered.

"You didn't think I would forget you so easily, right? It's been what… Eight years?"

"Ten years, Ciara. Since you betrayed me!" Alexia growled.

"What are you gonna do about it?" Ciara taunted.

Alexia winced then smirked. "For now, nothing."

"Hold on, how is a woman a hunter?" Damon finally asked the burning question.

Aaron shrugged. "She's the only female hunter amongst us. She's a huntress, one of the best and she's my daughter."

Damon looked like he'd been kicked in the gut as he stared at Alexia with mixed emotions.

"Guess it's not your destiny to have a mate," Bryan said, coming towards him with fake sympathy.

"Not now, Bryan!" he roared.

The large man raised a hand in surrender.

"Relax. I just wanted to say that your first mate was killed and then the moon goddess gave you a second-chance mate which just happens to be the same clan that killed your first mate. Just perfect!" Bryan clapped his hands.

"Way to rub it in, Bryan!" Damon growled, clenching his fists tightly.

Alexia shook her head trying to clear her thoughts. Despite being angry and wanting to punch something, being near him made her rethink.

"Let's not forget the fact that the werewolf pack that attacked your grandparent's house ten years ago was this pack led by Damon who is now your mate," Ciara added with a cruel smirk.

"Ooh-la-la!" Bryan exclaimed excitedly.

"Listen, don't accuse my daughter of the death of Damon's mate. She may be a huntress but that doesn't mean she's the one who killed his first mate but he was the one who led the attack that killed her grandparents," Aaron said defensively.

Alexia needed to act and she knew she couldn't do it here. She wanted to punch something but with the blue flame burning her wrist she knew she couldn't do it so she turned on her heels and left.

"Come back here, Alexia. Don't forget today is the half-moon!" her father growled at her.

She ignored him and stepped out of the packhouse heading straight into the woods where she could punch something preferably a tree.

Her mind raced with various thoughts of revenge especially since she wasn't in the packhouse again and the blue flame wasn't burning her again.

Also because you aren't lost in beautiful blue orbs, a mischievous voice chirped in her mind.

Alexia ignored the tiny voice in her head and focused on the tree before her. A single strike with her sword and the tree would have been cut short but without any weapon, she flexed her wrist and swung.

The impact of the punch and the tree collided with her knuckles and she felt the pain. She reveled in the pain, it made her feel numb and forget her predicament.

The fact that she felt so helpless.

Then she heard a twig snap behind her. She whipped her head around delivering a swift punch to whoever the intruder was.

"Ouch! Feisty."

Alexia froze. She was so certain she had never missed a strike before. Her ears were the source of her power and she had never been wrong as to where a person was before.

"Don't be hurt, little huntress. It's not every day you meet my kind so you mustn't be so hard on yourself for missing your strike," the cool voice continued.

"Show yourself!" Alexia yelled as she looked around the woods without seeing anyone.

"We're not here for fun. Let's do this and get over it," another new voice said roughly.

Alexia froze when three males stepped out of the shadows and stared at her with a small smirk.

"I thought you were all supposed to be hiding?" the third one snickered.

Alexia quickly assessed them. They looked tall, around 6'5ft, and had an intimidating aura that had nothing to do with their body build or the wicked smirk on their faces.

They all had a crescent moon shape carved on their forehead.

"What's with the weird symbol?" she asked. She tried to sound carefree but she knew there was no mistaking the dangerous glint in their eyes.

Could this be the three people killing them every half-moon? She wondered.

But it couldn't be. These three couldn't possibly defeat the powerful…

The next thing that happened was so fast she barely blinked then she blacked out.
