Damon soon broke through the woods and entered a clearing. Alexia was laying in a pool of her own blood. The image of his first mate's death came to his mind. This was the same way that he had found her. Was the Moon goddess toying with him? Was this supposed to be some kind of joke?
He immediately began the transformation back into his human form. The furs receded. His bones cracked and twisted as they came back into the form of a human. When the transformation was fully done, he raced towards Alexia immediately. He was not clothed but he didn't bother about it. Alexia was his priority.
She was still breathing when he picked her and held her in his arms. But her breaths were painful. She had gone pale. The color in her skin was gone. Her blood was everywhere. It had stained her clothes. He couldn't even recognise what color it had been in the first place. She was barely warm and her lips had gone dark.
