It was yet another beautiful work day, Zaynella was seated in her office. Sun spilled in from the open window showering her with its light . She glowed with its ray as she worked her face scrunched up in anxiety.
It was another cooking game project she had been working on for months, she was finally going to have a presentation today and she wanted it to be in the best shape. When it comes to her work she was every bit of a perfectionist.
Their company has been on top of the billboard for years as the best game production company but recently things were changing. In as much as they make sales that most companies will be thrilling to make, their game graphics were great too but Zaynella figured out for Aries to really be the leading game company it needed to diverse that was how she came about two new game that she called. Cooking Monster and cooking knack. She have done presentation on the latter before. Her aim of producing this game was not only to diverse the production of Aries it was also to lit the fire of the dying art which is cooking it was true that many enjoyed cooking but lacked the skill and guidance, by producing these games she not only wanted to revive the dying art she also wanted to be the guidance. This second cooking game was different from the first because they clearly talked about different things that has to do with cooking. She wanted the head office to make their choice of the two or better still kick off with production of both. If left for her she would have produced the two because they were totally different but she wasn't gullible so she was okay with one.
After she gave a last touch to the game she relaxed on her chair and picked up her office phone and dialed her secretary's number which was picked at the first ring.
"Tell the account department to ready the conference hall for an emergency meeting".
She dropped the receiver and reclined on her chair. If possible she wanted the company to start the game production immediately she wanted to discuss with the people working under her before actually submitting to the head office after all it was left for the head office to decide. And that was where her anxiety came about. If the head office didn't like her idea there was no way they would kick off the production even though she was determined to convince them, she still has little doubt's. It has come to her notice that Aries might not actually be after the money but something else that was why the owner of Aries remained a mystery.
Recollecting her thought she packed her things and headed to the conference hall her secretary in tow. It was better to take it a step at a time.
Many were seated waiting for her when she got in, they were wondering why the emergency meeting had been called. It rarely happens for their young director to call for an emergency meeting so they were eagerly waiting to hear the content of the meeting.
When Zaynella sat down and looked at the face of the people she have worked with for close to four years. She knew of their schemes and plans it wasn't a new thing in each companies their was always a black sheep and most of the people if not all seated in front of her have an evil scheme or another. But it took her a great deal of effort so she was not going to let the old men dictate causes for her.
After looking at the eager face of the people she had worked with she decided to talk at last.
"I know most of you are wondering why I have called for a sudden emergency meeting without letting you know before hand. Well it has to deal with a new idea I came up with called Cooking Monster, I know that guessing by the name you know what the game is all about and you are absolutely right", she stood up and slipped her flash into the USB port of the projectile and a few clicks with the remote control at hand, images appeared on the big white screen.
" This game was made by me and I plan on convincing the head office to produce it. This will be the second cooking game and looking at it will tell you my desperation in venturing into a different production field. I believe that the production of this game will help Aries just like the former too and by showing it to you I want to make it clear that I plan on using everything in my power to convince the head office to accept this offer or the former even if takes time you all are welcomed to say something on this matter", she concluded and sat down. Uncapping the head of her mineral water she took a sip and watched the eager face of her co- executives.
Mr Philip Grey the game designer was the first to speak up as usual it was as is the man has made it a habit.
"It's true that you have the best interest of the company at hand and have produced games that were hits before, but this is clearly different this is an outdated game, a cooking one at that and the second, if we are to support you and things didn't go as planned, we are only but mere executives of a branch company that can be disposed at anytime", Philip say displaying his cards for Zaynella.
"You said it your self we but just disposable executives of a disposable branch company. That is why we have to boost our image in the eyes of the head office by introducing this life changing game. We won't only grab their attention we also show them capability to be trusted with production", Zaynella replied.
"This is but a game and cooking one as we all know cooking games do not trend much, isn't it a sign that things will not go as planned", Martha Stone asked she was the manager of the programming department.
" Well said Mrs Stone, it is because of the hastag of not trending that I came up with this game. You all will agree with me that the art of cooking is dying and with this game and the former, I plan to revive it. This is not a mere game, it is life.
This game touches everything that has to do with our daily challenge in cooking. Not only does it have good graphics, it also has a very good guidance this game will command audience. People that play most of our games are children and youths but if we all able to reach out to parents and old people don't you think our company will skyrocket? This game is that betting chip. Old people of all gender including young will be intrigued to play this game it has secrets of cooking that have been buried for years, new recipes too that people would die to know of. Am staking my bet here and letting you know that this game is a must, if you guys are afraid of the criticism by other branch office if this fails then I will take the blame alone but I know that this game will be a hit like every other game I have produced. So its either you are in or out in either way you are just a viewer", she concluded and sat down her final note still ringing in their minds.
By the end of the meeting only two executives voted in her favor just like before, others decided to be the audience. With that, the meeting came to an end.
