It has been a month since Lionel and Molly learnt about the lie by Molly's parents. It wasn't easy for them the first time they met each other again. But Zaynella had planned everything out, so it had turned out better plus Molly have come to respect Zaynella. She was really proud that the young lady did not try to covert Lionel but rather fought to rebuild his broken family. After Molly and Lionel got back together, Zaynella and Molly solidified their friendship, and Davina has turned back to the happy go merry girl she was.
Lionel was still staying with Zaynella they have planned it that way to get the truth out from Molly's parents. Today, Molly have decided to let her parents know of their evil deed of destroying a family. Even though they were her parents she was ashamed of them, they have committed too many crimes. Framing Lionel, having him locked up, cooking up a story that she abandoned him, forging handwriting, pushing her to get a divorce and lying. They were too many to count and she wanted them to come clean by them selves.
She had earlier on driven Davina to spend time with her father. She wanted to face her parents and she didn't want Davina to see this side of her grandparents. She really hope that they were feeling guilty but if they were not, she planned to leave them behind and move on with the man he have loved all these years.
The Hess couple where resting in the sitting room when their daughter entered.
" Where is Davina, didn't she leave with you", Mia asked searching for her granddaughter.
" She is not coming back at least for now", Molly replied her voice clearly telling them that she wasn't happy.
" You look unhappy sweet heart, did anything happen", Mia asked worried.
Kendrick Hess dropped the newspaper he was reading to look at his daughter.
" Molly, did anything happen", he asked. He knew his daughter well enough to know that something was really troubling her, afterall she have inherited lack of emotion control from him, everything emotional stuff she thinks of will clearly be on display for all to see.
Molly looked at her parents for a long time before she finally decided to break the shell.
" Dad, mom, I want you to be honest with me. What actually happened six years ago", she questioned looking at the two with no expression it was the first of such experience for the couple. Mia was really shocked but not like Kendrick, he knew exactly that the crime they committed years ago out of ignorance would actually surface. It was because they were ridden with guilt that they decided to ignore their granddaughter, not only that they decided to also pressure their daughter in getting a divorce. They knew that the two loved each other very much. If they were to get a divorce, that live would turn to hatred and their crime would be buried till their death. When their daughter and granddaughter had started being headstrong about the issues few months ago, they had gone to the prison with the aim of righting their wrongs, but who would have known that he was granted amenity and released months back. They were not surprised that their daughter would eventually find out, but they were scared that even if they explain that she would leave them and never look back. The truth was that all the did, they did for their daughter. When she first introduced Lionel to them, they liked the young man, he cared for their daughter and not only that he was smart and wise. Even if something was to happen to them they were not worried because they knew that h would take care of their daughter. But everything changed when they found out of his background, they were blinded by the deed of his parents that the forgot that the young man had cut all ties with his family even when the proof was in front of them they couldn't reason. When they volunteered to train him in school,he refused and not only that, he made sure that he did enough part time job so he wouldn't accept a penny from them. But what clouded their judgment the more was when they learnt of their daughters' pregnancy to them their fears where confirmed that he didn't love their daughter but was using her and they had to force him to take responsibility when their daughter pleaded of not getting an abortion. They saw everything he did and is doing as an act. When they eventually learnt of how genue their love was, it was too late,they have already framed and locked him up. That was why they ignored their granddaughter and forced their daughter to ask for a divorce. Right now they were ashamed and really wish to hide their crimes.
Kendrick and Mia knew that no explanation would cover or heal the wounds they have inflicted, so thy could only follow their heart. The two couples knelt down in front of their daughter. They didn't want to loose her, they have lost their son in law and granddaughter and didn't want to add her to the list. All those years they have lived in regret, they really acted without proper thoughts.
" Molly, am really ashamed of my self. That year, I acted without proper thoughts and now I regret it. I have lost my granddaughter and son in law, I don't want to loose you too. Please forgive us, I will really help you find your husband even if it takes my whole money and life, just this once forgive your stupid dad", Kendrick concluded, tears clouding his vision. Mia couldn't because she was drowning in self guilt and tears.
Everything Molly had planned to say earlier vanished. Her father was a proud man that never begged nor cry but to her he just did and she knew he was really ashamed of himself. She knelt down and hugged the two people that gave her life, tears cascading from her eyes.
Today was the day Kelvin would graduate and it was exactly three months to many good things. First, Lionel and his in laws have reconciled, and they have cleared his name of the false charges, secondly he was given back his position at Heise and have found a house that he was staying with his family after moving out from Zaynella's house. It has almost been close to a year that they lived together, also Molly was expecting. That wasn't the only good news. Finally, Cooking Knack and cooking monster have come to completion and would be launched in two weeks time, the best part was that it was taking place in the city, she didn't have to travel for that, coupled with Kelvin's graduation, she was really happy.
After a few clicks of the camera, Zaynella who was dressed in a sea green mermaid off shoulder gown that accentuated her curves finally left the young man and Davina to look for Lionel and Molly, they left earlier to buy a drink. She met them half way to the drink stand.
" Thank goodness,I thought I had to search for eternity to see you two", Zaynella said collecting the can of mineral water that Molly was offering her.
" We would have returned earlier, but we were stopped by an old time friend", Molly replied.
" Where is Davina", Lionel asked.
" I left her with Kelvin, we should probably head back to them", Zaynella said.
" You are right, let's go", Lionel replied as he held Molly's hand preparing to lead her back.
Zaynella's phone rang and she picked it. After five minutes she stood transfixed as her phone slipped out of her hand and fell. Molly had to shake her to make her come to her sense, Lionel picked up the phone, but the person at the other line had disconnected. Tears were cascading down Zaynella's eyes smearing her mascara. It was a good thing that she wore no makeup.
" Did something happen, Zy talk to us", Molly persuaded, she was really worried.
After keeping quiet for a while, Zaynella finally replied.
" Grandma Louis passed away just now".
Of course they all knew who she was talking about. They all dejectedly looked at the young man who was talking with a little girl and couldn't help but he sad.
