Soon the air was filled with the heavenly smell of freshly popped popcorn. Suddenly there was a voice behind her saying "Is that popcorn I smell?"
Surprised, Sarah turned around and saw Alex standing there, casually leaning on the counter. "Yea, making some popcorn for Max and I, we're gonna watch a movie. What about you? What are you doing?"
"Just finished up playing video games with Daniel and Fay."
Fay must be the blonde boy's name… Thought Sarah. Even though Emily had hit him over the head with a pillow, he had never introduced himself. "Well what are you gonna do now? If you don't have anything, you're welcome to join Max and I."
"What movie are you watching?" He asked.
"We can never agree on what to watch so we always end up with the same movie, UP. If you don't like that one tho, we can pick a new one." Sarah replied as the microwave began to beep.
"Sure thanks, I love that movie." Alex said as Sarah pulled out the bag of popcorn, when the microwave was opened, the scent of it became even stronger. Suddenly there was a gasp. "Sarah, Alex! Watching a movie without even inviting us? How could you?" Said the voice. Sarah turned around to see who it could be this time and saw Emily and Tessa.
"Hey Emily and Tessa! You guys can join us if you like. We're watching the movie UP."
"Heck yea!" Said Emily excitedly, "Both Tenna and I love that movie! We will wait for you in your room, what one is your again?" Emily asked, looking at the doors confused.
"Room 7." Sarah answered.
"Ok! Come on Alex!" Emily said while grabbing onto Alex's arm and dragging him away, Tenna following her.
Emily turned back to the popcorn and sighed "I had better make more popcorn now…" She said to herself with a laugh. She put another bag of popcorn into the microwave and poured the already popped stuff into a bowl. When the popcorn was almost down she grabbed 3 more water bottles from the fridge . She poured the second bag into another bowl and put everything onto a serving tray, carrying it all into the room.
They stayed up until 1 am, watching all kinds of movies, laughing during the comedy's, Emily and Sarah holding each other in fright during the horror movies, the boys trying to hide the fact that they were crying during the sad moments. Sarah hadn't had this much fun in a long time.
"Wake up! Wake up!" Said a voice from outside the door. Then there was pounding on the doors. Somebody was yelling for them to wake up, walking by all the doors and pounding their fists on each of them. Sarah groaned and rolled over, when she opened her eyes she was face-to-face with somebody. She screamed and quickly sat up in the bed.
"What! What happened?" Emily said jerking upwards at Sarah's scream.
Sarah looked over to see what she had screamed for and then laughed. She turned to Emily and said "We must have fallen asleep last night and didn't realize. I woke up to Alex in my face." Sarah and Emily began to laugh.
Max sat up and said "What time is it?"
"Who knows." Emily replied. "We have to wake up tho now, help me wake the others. Sarah, Max and Emily went around shaking everybody awake. More people had joined them later on and most had fallen asleep in their room. People were all over the place, arms were bent at funny angles, some people were shivering because somebody had stolen the blanket. Another person had a foot in their face. When everybody was awake they walked out of the room to see servants bringing in racks of things.
Some of them held racks of dress clothes, others held makeup, menus or sheets of paper. "Ok everybody, listen up!" Said a strict looking female. Her brown hair was pulled into a low bun and she was all business with a fierce look on her face and a dark matching suit and pants with long, black heels.
"Everybody is to visit each rack. As special guests of the palace you will receive a complimentary outfit from the palace, pick wisely as there will be no exchangments. You will also need to pick what you will have for your evening meals so you will pick from the options listed on the menus, if you have any allergies or adjustments you need specifically to your meal, please see the man working at the cart. Finally, you and the person you were invited by or the person you invite will pick out an activity to attend to, minimum of one per day. Any questions?" She waited for a few moments but when nobody answered her she shrugged and said "Very well, have at it." And walked away.
Most of the girls went squealing to the clothing rack, fawning over the beautiful dresses and jewelry but instead she and Max walked over to the activities first. "What one do you want to do?" Sarah asked Max.
"You're the guest, you pick first." Max replied.
"Hmmm…" Sarah said as she browsed through the list of things. "How about this one?" Sarah said, pointing.
Max leaned in closer to see what it said "Horseback riding for beginners? Sounds fun!" He replied as he wrote down their names next to the activity. After they picked an activity for each day they walked over to pick out their meal. There was so much, there was duck roast, smoked chicken, steak, fish. For sides there was mashed potato, green beans, corn, mixed fruit. Desert options were chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake or souffle. After they had chosen they walked over to the outfit rack.
Although most of the people had gone there first to choose, there were still many options left. Dresses and suits and gowns galore. Sarah pulled out a pretty pink dress. It was made of silk and had a cinched waist, beautiful white rose embroidery and it had a sheer, pink satin vail. A man saw her looking at the dress and said, "That is a wonderful choice my lady. Would you like to try it on?" Sarah shook her head yes and he led her into a changing room.
