After hours of studying in the library I finally made my way to the training grounds, it was empty for now, but I can picture over a thousand guards training here in the near future. It was a bit of a mess though, not many training tools either. I really did a number on this palace being greedy and spending money unwisely, how I kept this up is beyond me. I pick up a broken bow from a pile of broken bows, "piece of shit." I toss it back down and sigh, I hope word about the gold mine reaches in less than two days. I walk to the middle of the training area, it was just a large open field where guards would get together and spar.
Even this was unkempt, I think a few gardners will also be useful, I check the guard weapon storage, there was hardly anything here. Not just that, I had no armor here since my warriors were normally an exception so we thought we wouldn't need them. But I think for now on even they need to wear some kind of armor. I dust off a nearby shield, the only one that was left, with what used to be an icon of a Griffon on it. If I can get the beast contract with that Gold Dragon, then it cold be the new symbol for this kingdom. I still have to come up with a better name for my kingdom, but that can be left for another time.
"Ah, so you were here, Ranessa." The voice made me cringe just at the sound of the raspiness. I turn to see my brother standing in the doorway of the weapon storage. "Rolo. you didn't announce your presence. Why have you come?" I ask feeling my body stiffen as he strides inside. Rolcian Xe Miyang, he was my older and estranged sibling from our birth country Mithas. I can assure that I hate his guts, he betrayed me every past life that I had; right before I was stormed by Su Kingdom he gave the prince specific instructions on how to break my magical barriers. If only I had not trusted him before or even before I was reincarnated once again.
Then he dares shows his face like everything was okay, there was no way this man did it for the greater good, after all he never treated me as his sister. Not even when were kids. "Can't I come see my dear sister?" He asks with a smirk and crude stare. I fake a smile and refuse to take a step back as he draw closer to me. I have always in all my lives found him intimitading, but not this time, he's just a short and fat sniviling brown-noser. "Cut the bullshit, Rolo. Did you come because you heard I didn't die?" I ask. He stepped back a step, I can just imagine his thought process right now. [Rolo's mind: trying to figure out why his little sister was not scared of him anymore. Then trying to keep his composure so that she didn't realize what she says is the truth.]
"Nonsense, I'm really hurt that you feel that way." He says giving me a sad look. Well done big brother, if anyone could feign ignorance so quickly, it's you. Of course all I can do is smile, I can't let him get suspicious. It wouldn't be fun....not. "Is that so, then the reason Prince Su knew about my magic barrier had nothing to do with you? Should I show you evidence?" I ask. There was no way I plan to give him a chance to ruin me again, his face reddens with anger, "bitch are you slandering me?" He erupts. I step towards him, "Slander you say, why are you so angry brother? You say I'm slandering you but you look guilty." I push a finger into his chubby chest and with that alone sent him stumbling.
He catches himself, after all he too had powerful magic, though he can't beat me. I wonder why I was so afraid of him? He doesn't react, instead he glares at me turns on his heel and leaves without another word. Did he really believe I would let him off so easily? Just wait Big brother, I'll make sure you never cause me any more problems even in the future. Thanks to Lexor I had some dirt on him, so much dirt that I can punsih him and have him executed immediately, why not in his own way he had me killed many times. Besides he was worse than myself, he has children fighting his wars. That was beyond disturbing, I should have did something about it before, but I didn't dare. I may have been a villainess but I don't dare hurt children.
Once he was out of my sight, I too left the weapon storage and took a venture around the rest of the palace that night. I took note on what needed a change, like having a fantastic chef team. Delicious meals is definitely a must. I took note on rooms that aren't being used, some that could become staff rooms and guest rooms. After jotting things down I returned to my office completely worn out. I sat and flipped through the list of things needing a change or needed to be remodeled or fixed. I'm sure with this list it would help Gert alot on the basics and the most difficult tasks. The reason for the gold would help his magic improve and to buy the things he'll need to use when he rebuilds and remodels.
