Chapter 5 - Ch. 5: Orange Core

Ferlin Forest

Kila looks back to see her new doctor companion struggling with the Vortac* [Can look this up under glossery] Monster, though these creatures are more easier to handle to her opinion. After he finally manages to plunge the small dagger he carried into the Vortac's opened chest he places both his hand on his knees and began to take quick breaths. "Is...that...the...last...one?" Doctor An says between breaths, "yeah, I was done a long time ago." She answers him. "For a girl who's face I can't make out, I have a feeling that you're laughing at me." He says.

Kila walks over to the spot where the last Vortac went down and took a closer look at the chest where the vines tried to protect the heart but was too late. "That coming from a man who called said girl a beauty." She mutters as she reached down into the chest area, "what are you doing?" Doctor An asks. "Gathering ingredients." She answers pulling the heart of the Vortac out. "Let me get this straight, we ambushed these two Vortacs just to collect the heart?" He asks. Kila sticks the heart into her bag and turns to him, "Yes, now, let's go. We still have some more ingredients and herbs to find." She points out.

"You're pretty strange for a child." He says though he followed after her anyways. "So whats the heart for?" He asks curiously. Kila turns her nose up just thinking about it, "you really don't want to know." She says. There was silence for a while as they come upon a large river bend, "we made it, so where's this magic core that you've been searching for?" Doctor An asks as unmounts his horse. Kila shades her eyes and stares into the sky, it was almost time, dusk was beginning to become day. "Give it time, you will know soon." She says.

Doctor An was staring at her, she could feel his curious gaze boring into her, "so about your comment earlier, I called you a beauty because you have some kind of bright aura surrounding you." He says. Kila scoffs, "are you tring to say that you can read my aura?" She asks. "Well yes, I can't see what's beyond that sheer mask of yours, but perhaps one day you will let someone see the true you." He pointed out. "You don't know me." Kila say her face still upturned to the sky.

"Yeah, but you don't know me either, for all you know I could have lied about who I was." he says. That's definitely a possibility, "well aren't you?" She asks. The sun began to make light, Doctor An feel like something big was about to happen, "I am, actually I'm the Royal Doctor." He says, he followed her because he was curious about this little girl who claimed to also be a doctor. Was she just crazy or possibly she was really who she says. But he didn't have time to think more on this as the ground beneath their feet began to shake.

"Ah, just in time." She mutters as the river before them began to ripple and bubble, "is it suppose to do that?" He asks Kila who ignores him and begins rummaging through the spacial bag she carried. Kila pulls out a sword as a large orange Sea Dragon expands out of the water, "Holy shit is that a Eighth Tier Sea Dragon?!" Doctor An yells as Kila weilds the sword as if she knew what she was doing. "It is indeed." She answers, was she seriously going to fight that by herself?

She suddenly jump from off the ground heading straight for the creature, holy crap she really is crazy, that damn thing was huge. He have to help her, but what can he do? He was just a doctor with only a bit of fighting skill, though he did notice she may be more skilled than him. This girl, she was interesting and he thought this as he watches Kila fight the sea dragon without breaking a single sweat.

I have to get closer. Kila runs up the sea dragons back, she need to get close to the face, if she plunged the sword into it's skull , then she'd be able to get the Core without damaging it as well. She have to get closer, she jumps as she gets to the top, the sea dragon begins to shake his head. It was clear that it was trying to protect it's Core. but she was quiker as she manages to jump into the air above it's head. This was her chance! She draws back the sword and let herself fall straight down from the sky, she trained so hard for this moment.

This dragon's Core was the answer to all her own problems. It was the first step to curing the burns on her face and hidden beneath her clothes, as she thought this she manage to plunge her sword exactly where she wanted. The dragon's cry pierced the morning sky and she and the dragon began to fall. The dragon disolves revealing a glowing orange Core, she reaches for it and grabs it, "Kila!" Doctor An yells as he began to run towards where she was falling from the sky.
