Rachel hasn't heard from Emma in days, she hasn't seen her or even received a simple call or text letting her know that she was okay, she refused to let it get to her as she remembered what happened on her birthday.
"Hey, Rachel...can I come over?" Tommy texted her. She tilted her head because something was wrong, he never asks to come over.
"Yeah sure Tommy" She responded quickly. Rachel slipped on her slides and wrapped herself in her blanket because her house was freezing and went downstairs. She was still home alone, her mom seemed to still be in Miami. Minutes later she heard a knock on her door.
"Come in" She said from the couch. Tommy opened the door in tears.
"Woah Tommy..what happened" Tommy sat down beside her and laid his head in his hands, sobbing. She wrapped her arms around him. She never saw him so upset before, it was a once in a lifetime experience practically.
"Emma broke up with me because of the birthday card" He was angry, but showed all signs of sadness. Rachel hugged him tightly. She took a minute while her arms were wrapped around his shoulders to think. She thought about why Emma was acting like this and why it was such a big deal to her. Nothing added up. Tommy was never the person to break down in tears, especially over a girl.
He stood up and stormed around the room. He ranted and ranted about how mad he was at Emma. Rachel wanted to do the same. It was confusing for her, she didn't know how to react in a situation like this.
"Honestly Rachel. I need to tell you the truth. Emma doesn't want to be friends with you anymore. " He stormed around. Rachel stood up as the blanket fell from her, uncovering a t-shirt and shorts. She was confused, upset, shocked, all emotions roamed through her head. Her brain felt so small, she was clueless.
"What? Why? What did I do?" Rachel stormed around with him.
"She's jealous of the attention you give Manny" Rachel sat down. Emma always had manipulative tendencies, she never knew how to handle her thoughts in a respectful manner and always used specific statements to get the way she needed to.
Suddenly the door opens and she sees Manny standing there. Manny was in shock as he watched the 2 of them flustered.
"Holy shit," Manny says as he sees Tommy storming around and Rachel sitting on the couch hand on her head.
"Manny?" Tommy sat down and made room for Manny to sit. Manny walks toward them slowly and sits down next to Rachel, kissing her forehead. Rachel wanted to jerk her head away, but she didn't want to push him away when she needed him the most.
"What in the world is going on?" He asked as he looked at both of them. He has never been more confused in his entire life.
"Well to start, Emma broke up with Tommy and now she hates me and is ignoring me because I don't spend enough time with her" Manny gasped. Her voice was high pitched and quick.
"Damn I'm sorry guys," He said. Tommy rolled his eyes. Manny didn't know what to say, he didn't like seeing Rachel in distress. He wanted to comfort her, but he knew it was best for him to keep his distance. He knows how she gets, everyone does.
"I want to see her," Rachel says. Tommy tried to talk her out of it but there was no stopping her. Rachel wanted answers, she didn't want to get ignored all because of the lack of attention she has given her friend. She wanted to apologize, but then again she wanted an apology before anything else. As all 3 of them made conversation, trying to distract themselves from their realities they heard a loud knock on the door. Rachel stood up and walked towards the door opening it up wide.
"What are you doing here?" Rachel asks as she sees Emma standing there right in front of her eyes.
"I need to talk to you guys," Emma said as calmly as possible as she walked into the house. Rachel rolled her eyes and closed the door.
"You broke my trust Tommy, that's why I broke up with you. You know, the only reason why I dated you was because-" Tommy cut her off.
"You just wanted attention, you wanted the attention Rachel wasn't giving you," He said. Emma nodded her head. Rachel was surprised, but then again she wasn't. She saw it coming.
"So you just used him, Emma?" Manny asked. Emma rolled her eyes and nodded her head once again. Rachel took a deep breath and stood up from her couch and walked towards Emma. She took off her necklace and handed it back to her.
"Get out," Rachel said.
"Fine" Emma said as she took the earrings out of her ears and threw them onto the ground, stepping on them. Manny ran to Rachel's side and picked them up piece by piece as Rachel said her final goodbyes to Emma.
