"why are you acting like she's the one who stole your first kiss? Don't blame Lumia for what you did. She is a good person and you should stay away from her. She had a tragic childhood. Thanks to that, she has a strong hatred for devils. that's why she acted so intense.", Elena replied to me as she glared at me.
Now I can partly understand why she reacted this way. It wasn't that she hated me particularly. She just had a bad childhood history with devils, and seeing Lena just triggered her. I am just unlucky that I am with Lena now. But I cannot leave, not even then, I will not leave Lena ever.
I shook my head and thrown away all the distracting thoughts in my head. What I needed to do for now is to quickly find Ramon and escape from here alive with everyone.
We searched for Ramon here and there but couldn't find him. But I noticed something strange. After the initial area where the bandit attack happened on Elena and her escort team members, there is no sign of any fighting. But that is strange because, if Ramon truly fought against the leader of the black-clothed assassins, then it will make a really big mess out of the area.
But there's no sign of fighting anywhere. 'did that guy named Ramon die in the hand of that assassin? That is not impossible as he was really tired after fighting the bandits.'
We searched him everywhere within our targeted area. But he was nowhere to be found. I am not feeling too good about this situation.
That Ramon guy is tired and weaker than his enemy so if they fought, then either he is dead or he must be still on the run. But there is no proof of the fight here.
"Help..help me.."
Suddenly we all heard a shout for help in a far place from us. It looks like someone is really crying out for saving him. We ran towards the direction of the sound and found someone tied up alongside a big rock.
The person who is tied up is none other than that Ramon guy. He is beaten up very badly. He had blood dripping from his wounds which were all over his body.
I, Elena, Lumia, we three when reached the place we were not careful enough. We were happy to finally find this guy Because now we can go home.
"What happened to you? Why are you in this state? Where is the other guy you chased?", Elena asked a bunch of questions as soon as Lumia untied the ropes on Ramon that bound him. My hands are occupied with carrying Lena so only Lumia is available to untie the ropes.
"Long story short, he beat me up, tied me up with ropes and went to see you guys situation. ", Ramon explained.
"He must have missed us by a Hair's breadth. This is our chance to escape. We must leave quickly. Hurry up!!", Elena shouted.
"Yes, that's right but what about those other three black -clothed assassins? Are they still pursuing you guys?", Ramon asked Elena curiously.
"No, they are all dead. Arthur killed them all.", Lumia answered this time. Her voice sounded hurried and distressed.
"Oh, that devil-duo is still tagging along? Are they so strong? Then why did they hold back first? Is there any hidden motives for their action?", Ramon said with a ridiculing tone and his words were full of doubts and accusations.
"I had to use up all my strengths and stamina while killing those three. I am recovering my used strenth still now. If the last one that even you cannot handle appears now, we will all die. So stop wasting everyone's time and hurry up. Also i am not a devil. ", Arthur replied to Ramon directly. He was really angry at this guy for delaying them.
"You can fight three peak-tier apprentice warrior when you are not even a mid-tier, are you saying that you are a human even when you can do that?", Ramon said staring at him unblinking.
"Whatever you think but I can't save your ass this time because I am fully wasted. So please hurry up.", Arthur urged not only Ramon but everyone.
"Ok, if that is the case then there is no need to worry for us. We can go ahead with the plan.", Ramon said with a wicked laughter.
Just when he began laughing, someone dashed towards me fast.
'Splurt'
The sound of flesh cut open sounded. My abdomen is cut open by a sword. My body became numb immediately. Lena's body fell from my arms. I felt like I was reliving my assassination day's at 20. It felt like just that day when I died.
'Ah, what a waste! Not again! I don't want to die.'
Apsu's distressed voice rang in my head. I was stunned at that moment. Damn it! How can I forget the system? My fear of death has completely clouded my judgement.
On the other hand, just as I was stabbed, Ramon caught Elena by her hand. Elena struggled to get away from Ramon. But she couldn't.
"Ramon, what the hell is this? Why are you siding with them?", Elena hissed when she couldn't struggle out of his grasp.
"I will explain everything. Why your friend betrayed you?", the one who stabbed Arthur before spoke now.
"Ramon, you bastard! You are the one who sold us out. Because of you all our people died. You traitor, why did you betray us, tell me?", Lumia shouted angrily at Ramon.
"It's because I want Elena. They promised me if I listen to them, then I can have Elena to myself.", Ramon declared his reason for betrayal. But by the look of the two girls, they never imagined that his reason for betrayal is this.
It looks like they never noticed Ramon' s lust for Elena. This Ramon guy is not young at all. He is already above 30. He is not that handsome. But he has a tall and tight body figure. Natural white hair, grew some beards in his face. All over he is not that bad but when compared to Elena's beauty and charm, they don't match at all.
"You what!!! Are you crazy? Lady Elena always respected you like an elder. How can you see her like that? Do you men have no shame, no sense of honour?", Lumia barked at Ramon while Elena was looking at Ramon with pure disgust.
"I can't believe that I trusted you Ramon. You were like a senior to me. You protected me since I was a young girl. I never thought that you saw me that way. You are not even worthy of my respect. You sold out all your comrades just so you can have me. You are a sick perverted old man.", Elena poured out her thought openly.
