The group chattered as they walked back to the inn, they were loud. They were extremely loud as the village has gone to sleep. They walked for a whole 20 minutes, full and warm before a sharp ringing noise sounded in their ears.
The transmigrators fell to the floor as the Feng Brothers, Lin XinYin and Wang Wei all watched in shock.
"Hey! What happened?! Are you guys alright?!" asked a frantic Wang Wei.
The group only groaned in response, the noise was bringing a strong headache and their vision was going blurry. The four watched helplessly as they saw blood slowly come out of the groups ears.
A robotic voice spoke only to the transmigrators.
[Assigned Mission: Help the Feng Brothers live a stable, prestigious life [Laquetta]; win the war in the Northern Front [Lewis, Toby, Vincent, Samuel]; help Wang Wei improve his business [Charlotte]; Laquetta, Lisa and Leslie. Your characters have not been introduced yet. They will be soon, and missions will be assigned accordingly. You will be gathering points to help improve yourself in between worlds; you will be transferred to an area where you can spend the points you gather and hone your skills as the worlds will get progressively harder. I as your System will always be here if you have any questions.], informed the System.
The group slowly got to their feet. Stumbling back to the inn, looking as if they were participants in a street brawl.

When Laquetta woke up it was still dark, it seemed that she only slept for two hours as it was still pitch black and silent outside. Gently getting out of bed, shivering as her feet touched the cold, hardwood floor. She made her way silently across the room, Laquetta grabs her coat and ties her hair up in a loose ponytail. Putting her shoes on and left her room, she walks out into the hallway.
Her steps were hushed, Laquetta cautiously checked her surroundings before pulling out her phone. Unlocking her phone she opened the gallery that contained pictures of her mum and her previous life. She sighed, although both she and her mum were not that close, she still loved her mum enough that she missed her. Laquetta wished that she would go back; she wished she could go back to the comfort of her own home.
As Laquetta walked down the hallway, and down the stairs into the restaurant next to it that was setting up for the breakfast rush, Laquetta didn't know that Wang Wei was following her. He had seen Laquetta pull out her phone, but didn't know what it was.
He walked up to her and gently sat next to her, as to not startle her.
She turned to him and gave him a look, a look that said 'I knew you were there.'
Laquetta turned back to her phone and showed him a picture of her childhood pet, it was a fluffy black cat that was laying on its back whilst pulling a funny face.
"This was Cal, a foreign name," she explained, "He was my first, and last pet, I had him ever since I was a toddler. But when I turned ten he developed an illness."
Wang Wei listened intently, shadows danced over his face, his eyes warm and understanding as he let the girl talk; it was clear she just wanted companionship.
Laquetta's voice cracked a tiny bit, "The illness got worse and soon we had to put him down."
Wang Wei didn't say anything but rested a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it tightly as a sign of support.
"What is that little box thing?" Wang Wei asked as he was curious about it. The painting of the cat is quite detailed, he thought.
"It's a little device where we can store our memories and pictures on," came the simple answer from Laquetta, although she didn't say much, her voice was laced with many emotions.
"I understand, that's why I have a miniature of my grandad."
The two talked all night until the next morning and people of the village were waking; they retired to their rooms, washed up and set out to the Qang'an Mountains to get away from everything and rest in the mountains.
They had a holiday home there that was constantly tended to by servants and can always house guests and monks. It was only a two-hour walk away from a temple on the other side of the mountain.
As they ventured up the mountain Wang Wei stuck with Laquetta to make sure she was okay; she seemed much more depressed and kept pushing everyone away apart from him, so he stayed close to her and tried his best to just be there for her, and be a good friend.
He didn't understand the full extent of what she was going through, but he promised to be there to help her. Wang Wei was surprised himself, he didn't understand why he was so devoted to her, so devoted to helping her. He was pretty sure that he was interested in Lady Mian [which is Charlotte].
