Samuel and Toby were taking a walk through the town and were going into a teahouse where courtesans were playing eastern instruments to keep the guests entertained and make a harmonious atmosphere. Samul had only found the place a few weeks ago, and although many of the courtesans wanted to please him, he refused them all. He told them he had a girl in mind and was only here to enjoy the tea; Toby wasn't used to this environment either and also said he was just there to enjoy tea.
Samuel had found the courtesans to be captivating and although they held no sway over his heart they made having a conversation with them interesting, contrary to popular belief they were like modern-day hostesses, they made you feel validated. Samuel always thanked them well and soon both he and Toby were known as the favourited customers.
Their visits were always looked forward to, not only because they were respectable and righteous, but also the tea house was a place where they could gather information and the girls there were more than happy to keep a watch on people just in case, but also to keep an eye out for trouble, in case some people were trying to plot a rebellion or cause trouble.
Samuel looks into his cup of tea and thinks of Laquetta, he wonders where she is and smiles tenderly whilst looking into the cup. Making the courtesans sigh and thinking how lucky the girl must be, whilst also making Toby smile at how lovesick his friend was. Samuel was not going to hear the end of it today.
