Lucy and Laquetta walked through the courtyard, taking in the beautiful scenery. It was beautiful, absolutely breathtaking. It was early spring, all the flowers were in full bloom, Laquetta saw the dew falling gently off the petals.
The hanfu was extremely comfortable and breathable, but it was a given because she is one of the daughters, the eldest, of a prestigious household who were close to the imperial family.
The family was the Wang Family, they were a family who had descended with strong cultivators and generals. The head of the family was the mother and her husband was bought from a brothel. Her mother, Wang ZeTian, was a close friend of Empress Hua Liu, the two were martial sisters and were still best friends; Wang ZeTian was even granted a special pass by the Emperor Li Jun, himself as esteemed guests that could enter the Palace anytime they wanted no questions asked. The father, Zhang Yong, was a prostitute that worked in the Red Light District and was bought for ten gold pieces after being saved from being raped in an alley.
The two originally went their own way but then kept on meeting each other and after two years of continuous meetings, Zhang Yong finally confessed and told Wang ZeTian how he felt and that he wished to be with her in this life and the others, how he would never stray from her and he would always wait for her. So Wang ZeTian went and told her younger martial sister this happy news and Hua Liu was over the moon for her older martial sister, as she hadn't seen her so happy in so long. Especially after the death of their master.
Laquetta smiled at remembering this touching story. She carried on walking with Lucy towards the main gate, they had decided to go into town. They still haven't seen any sign of the boys, but the System assured that they were safe; so they headed into town with a veil to cover the bottom of their faces, the System suggested this as they were both considered mesmerising beauties and wearing a veil would help keep them out of trouble.
The streets were bustling with life and activity, many street sellers were hollering their offers and the sweet smell of yutiao (massive breadsticks that are commonly eaten for breakfast with congee or soy milk) and many different enticing tastes of sweets were mixed into the air.
'What's a mission do we have to complete?' Laqeutta asked the System telepathically.
'Your mission will be assigned to you when you are more comfortable with your surroundings,' the System responded.
Observing the streets and the happy screeching of children running around them and the happy voices of the locals, they walked slowly to a teahouse.
There was some shouting that sounding further down the street and voices were raising and it seemed that a fight had started as there were sounds of things breaking and ceramics being broken.
Lucy grabbed Laquetta's hand and started pulling her back but Laquetta would not budge. She walked briskly to see what was happening, it turns out two young men were harassing a young girl, she stepped in front of the two and infusing qi into her palm she shoved the two back a few meters, picking up the girl and dusting her off she wrapped her coat around her and summoned her sword and in a flash, the tip was just a hair away from slicing one of the boys' throat.
"If I ever see you harass another woman or anyone for that matter I will cut you up and turn you into a human stick," Laquetta pressed her blade into his neck and her tone of voice dropped lower, "I will kill you if you do something so disgusting again. Do you understand?"
Laquetta helped the girl up and grabbed Lucy before calling a carriage and back to the Wang Residence.
