"You told me that time moves really slow in hell, didn't you? Then how in the world were we able to bunk half of our classes?" I screamed at the top of my voice as we returned to the top. "Well, I didn't say time was totally stationary, it did move, but I think we spent too much time down there," Alex said. "Wait, but what the hell happened to 'where we're going, time practically obeys demons' part," I asked. "Uh... let's pretend I never said that..." I left Alex to run as I quickly pedaled back home, with the sword shuffling in the backseat. But I really wasn't surprised when I realized she reached before me, cause I was busy thinking of how to traffick a zirconium blade everywhere.
I removed my shoes and placed them in the shoe rack, walked over to my room, threw my bag in a corner, placed the sword on my desk, and just fell onto the bed. Now that I have a sword, there's nothing wrong with naming it, I thought. I got up and brought the blade to the bed. There it lied, a beauty just waiting to have blood all over it. A name... it's black in color, so 'Black Slicer'? Nah, it isn't that catchy. So what's a name that is simple but really catchy.
"Faith..." I heard a voice say, but, there wasn't anyone around. It took some for my little brain to think of the sword, but till then, I had already decided on the name 'Faith', simple and catchy. Now, only one difficulty remains, how do I carry this? Bam! My door slams open and I could see Alex panting outside. "I found it..." Alex said, completely out of breath. "Where were you?" I asked. "Oh nowhere, just went for a little jog, anyway, has the sword contacted you yet," Alex asked.
I was taken aback, but quickly recovered and said, "Kinda, I think Faith called out to me, but I think it was just something I was imagining," I replied. "Faith?" Alex inquired. "Oh I forgot, I decided to call her Faith," I said, pointing towards the shining black sword sitting on my bed. "Pfft, bet you don't remember my name," Alex said grumpily. "It's Alex, I remember," I said. "That's not my point... but are you sure that YOU came up with that name?" "Of course I did, I think... oh no it's all blurry now," I said. "Don't strain yourself, relax, anyways, I found a way for you to carry... uh... Faith, ah that's the name. But it's kinda painful," Alex said. Just perfect.
"Yay, so, blood relations?" I asked. It was a crazy idea, but there Alex said it was a 98% chance this would succeed. What's the crazy idea, you ask? I have to cut my hand with the sword. Fun, right? "Get ready, also, I've brought your first aid kit, just in case," Alex said, determined but at the same time, totally skeptical of this actually working. "B-but, what happens to the other 2%," I asked. This exactly felt like how I was feeling during the Dodgeball game... shit scared.
"Well, the other 2% have never really lived to tell the tale, so, we don't know exactly," Alex said. "Thanks! That's comforting," I added. "5... 4..." Alex began the countdown, and here I was, shivering with fear and my life in the hands of a zirconium sword named Faith. Ironic name, I thought to myself. "3... 2..." Alex came closer and closer to the end. Never thought I'd ever be scared of an insignificant number like 0, but I also never thought I'd have demon blood in me, so there's that. "1... and... GO!" Alex shouted.
Slice. "Am I dead yet?" I asked out to the warmth of my hand, which I very knew was covered with blood. That blade's sharp, I thought to myself. "Nope, can't let go of you that easily," I heard Lavender said. I opened my eyes to find my hand irregularly taped with bandages and cloth. Did not expect that to happen. "My hand, how is it?" I inquired. "No worries, our expert nurse has patched you up," Alex said, pointing towards a blushing Lavender. "It was a small cut, so Operation Faith was successful," Alex added. "When did we begin to call it Operation Faith?" I asked. "When did you begin to name a sword?" Lavender asked bitterly. "Point duly noted," I said to myself. "What was that?" Lavender asked sharply. A world full of hurt is up ahead, great.
"So, did it work?" I asked. "I don't know, but you should be able to mold the sword to your will," Alex said. "So, mold her into anything? Like a ring, or a necklace, or a walking stick?" I asked, super hyped to use my imagination to its best. "Again, it is supposed to be theoretically possible, so I have no idea," Alex replied. "Oh so- wait, THEORETICAL? So you put my life on the line for a THEORY that you didn't even know if it would work?" I screeched. "Just go and check, you dummy, nothing has happened. Stop dwelling in the past and turn it into a ring or something," Alex said sharply. "Her, not it. Turn HER into a ring" I corrected it. "Yeah sure, the sword has a name as well as a gender," Alex said, visibly annoyed, but for what?
"Now what should I turn her into..." I crossed paths with another dilemma. I have 2 choices and both are equally cool. But I can't disclose them cause both choices are one, really stupid, and two, you will facepalm at hearing them both together. So I decided to do what every sane person would do if they are stuck in such a situation... choosing a finger. I put 2 fingers in front of Alex and Lavender and told them to decide together and choose a finger. I had assigned one choice to each finger and now waited for the random toll.
"What a dimwit, you really expect to get a choice out of this?" Alex asked. "Well then, choose a finger and we'll see if it was worth it. Then Lavender and Alex went in a corner and began whispering and discussing. "Ok, we've decided. We pick the middle finger." Lavender and Alex said together. Of course you did, I thought to myself. "Putting the choice into action... and..." Bam! We got ourselves a mold, but it wasn't what everyone was expecting.
A ring? A necklace? A cookie? What was it? It was a girl. You were going to facepalm there, weren't you? I'm not very proud of this myself, but this was the best that my imagination and logical thinking could come up with, but there was one tiny flaw... I accidentally made her a little too beautiful. In my eyes, she was stunning, standing 5' 4" tall, this fair-skinned woman has a resilient feel about her. She has an oval face, a tiny nose, and thin lips. Her dark brown eyes were just too gorgeous to stand. She has mid-back length, shiny, black hair which is left open, allowing it to fly with the wind. She has long arms and slender hands, a small torso, a perfectly-round waist, and long legs. She was wearing a jet black hoodie and black skin-tight track pants.
"What the- what's this?" Alex asked, surprised. "I think I already introduced you to her, she's Faith," I stated. "No, I mean, why is she a girl?" Alex cried. "Then what was I supposed to do? Should I just tell people 'Don't mind me, I'm just carrying a zirconium sword!'." I said. "Then you could have turned it into a ring which would be easier to roam around with. Why didn't you?" Alex blurted. "Look, here's what I thought since a zirconium ring will be eyed on and stolen, and it will be detected in the detectors at malls and all, so I needed something big enough to be seen if it is stolen, but not in the shape of a sword, so I thought of a girl, cause of the name Faith, so tada! Now she won't get lost!" I said with pride in my creation. "The sword is bonded to you, so you can't lose it..." Alex said. I'm so very screwed, I thought to myself.
