(Kendall's/KD's POV)
After that encounter with Vaughn, I've been avoiding him. And they're still not making a move towards KD. You can tell that it's been peaceful but it's not the right time for it to be. I need another opening. I can't just push my luck and try to push my opening. They'll get suspicious of me and I can't afford that.
I'm in my study room right now catching up with the work I'm missing, reading the contracts Kyle sends me and answering some calls that's been forwarded at me by my secretary. As another call distracted me I answered it right away, "Miss the owner of ER industries is asking to have to talk to you, should I forward the call?"
ER Industries? That sounds familiar, "Yes you can." Then a minute later I hear a voice from the other end of the line but it's not clear so I can't really tell what's he's saying. I know he's a guy but I can't really tell his voice clearly. "Mr. Esteban? It's a pleasure that you have called me. May I ask the reason on why?" I ask as calmly and professional as I once was taught.
But when the voice becomes clear I freeze a little, "Well, if it isn't KD?" that voice. I smirked on knowing that there's my opening. "If it isn't Paige, to whom do I owe the pleasure of you calling me?" but all I hear from the other line is a small laugh.
"You don't sound like you miss me."
"It's because I don't, why did you call me and where do you get the number?" I ask innocently. A little mind game for someone dumb is what I like to call this. And it seems like I hurt his pride as he takes time before he respond.Ha! That's just a little pain if you ask me. And it's just his pride, no big deal.
"Tsk, I just saw that number somewhere and just want to know if it really is yours." hurting his pride makes him annoyed huh?
"Then why did you call me?" I asks sounding busy which I'm pretty sure will pissed him off more. He is known for his pride, being a gangster and all. So I bet he won't just let it slide like that and be mad.
"Shouldn't you be thankful that I've called you?" I think he just snapped. Tsk, all those nice things he does for me back at the beach is all nothing but a ruse. If you ask me I think he's just talking to KD because he can't take it that a girl embaress him. And now that girl is crushing him down because of his pride. If I know any better, which I do, then I would say that he wants to get revenge and make KD begs him at her knees.
But that won't happen. He will be the one who will beg for it. Oh, how can I see the ending for this one. "Paige? Are you angry at me?" I ask faking worry. Then I just hear a deep sigh on the other side.
Haha, that's right Paige. That's not how you'll get a girl, be nice to her. And you can imagine me smiling evily if you want to hahaha.
"No KD, I'm not." I can clearly hear him trying to calm himself but I notice how there's still a hint of anger in between those lines. Geez, why is it so easy to predict this guy?
"I still think you're angry, how about we go out in the bar that we first see each other?" let's see on how nice this guy could be. "Yeah, sure" he sounded like he won. How petty.
After the call ended I get up and decided to take a short shower and dress up. I think a short sexy black velvet dress with long sleeves will do the trick. Partnering it up with a thick black velvet choker and a black platform heels stiletto. Too much black? I don't think so. After that I got in my baby and we're off to go.
If you think that why not let Paige fetch me, I think it's not the right time to give them my location. Besides, I'm pretty sure that even Thoven's investigation got nothing about the things that we need to keep a secret to.
Arriving at the club I got in and as usual, eyes are on me. It doesn't took long before I notice where Paige is and it seems like he also notice me having that big smirk on his face. Well, let's see who'll be smirking next. It looks like he also have some douche around him but none of them are his friends.
I remember that he did want me alone for himself so that's a bad move on his part. I can take them down one by one and they won't even know. Paige stands up and walks towards me, claiming me for the crowd to see. But before his lips reach mine I push him back.
"Paige, I thought you're angry at me?" I ask, even tilt my head to look more innocent. With that Paige just looks at me like I'm joking but I still continue to give him that innocent look.
"You go here to just apologize? No bull."
"Well, yeah, your father is a client of mine so I can't just let this simple argument slip." I still continue with my innocent act with the hint of professionalism. He look more pissed off. Haha! I think he can't take it anymore that's why he drags me on the back of the club and when the people saw us they just leave.
"I'm so damn tired with this games of yours so stop it! No one will go to a damn club to just apologize got that?" He is now furious and hovering above me as he pushed me against the wall. Looking at him like this scares me even though I didn't want to. I'm looking straight in his eyes when I feel a tear left my eyes. I'm pretty sure my expression also shows him how scared I was. Staring at his face reminds me of those nightmares. And he step back like he just scalded his hands. I roughly wipe my tears then look at him. I can't contain my anger so my face probably show him how much I hated him.
Is this a bad idea? I hope not.
