"Thank you again for your care, sister Elvina."
Said Cecile for the umpteenth time. She was really very grateful for this luck. If she didn't meet these people, she might have ended up in the hands of those who chased her and returned to the west.
"It's an obligation to help others" Said Elvina with a warm smile and continued. "So you don't need to hesitate"
After that Elvina escorted Cecile out. Being in the yard, a beautiful little girl attacked Cecile with joy. Cecile was a little surprised on the spot to see the little girl. "Beautiful sister, are you awake?"
"This is my daughter Gayle"
Cecile never thought that this beautiful woman was married and had a daughter. Slightly ducking down, she saw that the girl looked very cute with blonde hair in two braids. Her black eyes were round like a full moon. The colour was not the same as Elvina, maybe it was inherited from her father.
"Well, I'm awake" Cecile replied and smiled softly. Her hand reached out to pinch the little girl's cheek which was very adorable.
"Little girl what's your name?" Asked Cecile and she bent her body slightly to match her position with the little girl.
"I'm Gayle." Her tiny lips cheerfully replied.
"And your name?" Her voice was so funny that it made Cecile feel itchy to pinch her cheeks hard.
But of course she didn't dare to do it. What if this little girl cried? She would feel bad about Elvina for bothering her daughter.
"I'm Cecile"
After that Cecile straightened up again and walked to the gate. Turning back, she glanced at Elvina and Gayle in turn and then waved.
Elvina and Gayle were happy to wave back. And with that Cecile left the small family residence.
Midway through. when Cecile was looking for a horse carriage to continue her journey. She found it that was starting to approach from a distance.
Cecile felt relieved in her heart because she immediately found a horse carriage to go soon from this place.
Because after all this northern region was no longer safe for her. The security forces and even the people around here have found her whereabouts. So it didn't allow her to stay any longer in this place.
But when the horse carriage approached, she saw a red rose symbol on it. Cecile gasped on the spot. It was the chariot symbol of the Zeath tribe. They include chiefs of tribes and central officials. Trying to stay calm, Cecile turned around ready to walk away.
"Cecile stop there!"
Deg! It was the stern voice of a man of authority. It was none other than her father. Looking back a little, the horse carriage had stopped. It looked like an aged man descended from there. Stepping out of the carriage, he carried a noble dignified aura. His golden brown hair, which was the same as Cecile's, seemed to glow in the sun.
His black eyes did not flicker when exposed to the glare of the sun. His gaze carried a stern and demanding aura. Cecile felt her knees shaking in place. Was this the real her father?
"Get in now" It has been a long time since Cecile heard that authoritarian voice. And now she heard it again.
Cecile was unhappy with her father's authoritarian attitude. But she was touched inside. Because her father came here just to pick her up home.
"Did you promise to cancel my engagement to Edwin?" Cecile confirmed beforehand. Otherwise this escape will only end in vain.
"Have you found a better replacement than Edwin?"
Hearing that question, Cecile was a little surprised.
"If you get it dad will negotiate with you about it, but if not you just need to follow my arrangements for you"
Cecile felt the sky fall against her body. Why was it so difficult for her father to do what she wanted just once? How come her father never let her decide what she wanted? She was a mature girl, but why didn't her father keep making arrangements for her life?
"You take Miss Cecile inside" Eckbert continued to order the two servants he brought to immediately take Cecile.
That's when Cecile realised her father seemed to have prepared several servants to take care of her. Will her life be much more restrained after this?
Even though she was born as the daughter of the chief. Her father taught her to be an independent daughter who was not spoiled. Everything she needs has been accustomed to preparing it herself without the help of a servant. And today her father has provided two servants, what else if not to spy on her later.
"Young lady, please come up"
Cecile felt the sour in her nose. Her eyes heated up like crying. Lifting her feet Cecile was still thinking about running away. Only to find a horse-drawn carriage behind. Bringing the Zeath tribe security members who were chasing her earlier.
Because there was no hope. Regardless of the whereabouts of the two servants. Soon Cecile got into the train.
Eckbert was satisfied and went up inside. Actually, he hadn't been able to sleep peacefully lately because he thought of his daughter's life out there alone.
Cecile was the only child he had from Clarissa. Looking at Cecile, it was like seeing a young Clarissa being reborn. For him Cecile was his beloved daughter as well as his longing medicine for his beloved late wife. In him she inherited Clarissa's distinctive beauty, only her hair was different. Clarissa had corny hair but Cecile was golden brown just like his.
Maybe he was harsh on his daughter. But as a father he only wants the best for his daughter. Maybe Cecile didn't think he was a loving and gentle father. He just acted like a leader with authority but that's how he educated his daughter.
He wanted Cecile to realise. The higher a person's social position, sometimes the higher the burden he bears.
She was the daughter of a prominent figure, it was imperative for her to emulate his honourable status. Otherwise people would look down on her and deem her unworthy of that status.
The social circle is sometimes a complicated world. Maybe right now Cecile doesn't understand because she hasn't jumped into it yet. But sooner or later there will come a day where Cecile comes in and at that time she will immediately understand what he has done.
All also returned for good.
Along the way, Cecile did not say a word. But occasionally she glanced at her father and found dark circles under his eyes. She only realised it after seeing it up close. Had her father been lacking sleep lately?
Squeezing her dress, Cecile felt a little guilt in her heart. She knew that her authoritarian father actually really loved her.
