Chantel had already finished three glasses of whiskey and was already going on the fourth one. Cynthia had also finished four already and was moving on to the fifth one. Adiepena was worried about her friends. They were both already drunk and were giggling loudly like 14 year old girls. She shook her head and looked around. They had gotten in a few hours ago and her friends were already spent. She began thinking of how she was going to take them back home when Chantel suddenly screamed on top of her lungs, bringing Adiepena's attention to her.
"I feel like dancing, so let's dance." As soon as the words left her mouth, she got down from her stool and walked towards the group of people dancing in the room. She could barely stand straight, yet she was determined to go and dance.
Adiepena suddenly got down from her stool to stop her. "Chantel, I don't think it's wise for you to go and dance looking like this. You can barely stand on your own. Why would you even want to make a fool of yourself?"
"Hey! I am not drunk. I am fine. So, leave me alone to do what I want to do, alright?" Chantel brushed off Adiepena hand and walked off with a determined look on her face. She staggered down the dancing floor and started jumping around as soon as she got there.
Cynthia sat down and laughed her head off. She found what Chantel was doing amusing. She raised her glass and brought it to her lips, then gulped down her drink in a go and poured herself another one. Adiepena quickly took the glass away from Cynthia before she could pour the next one.
"Hey! That's mine. Give it back," she said and tried to get back her glass.
Adiepena just jumped back, putting some distance between herself and Cynthia.
"Sorry girl. I can't watch you continue waste your senses all because you want to have fun. I thought we came here to have a good time but you girls have turned this whole thing into a drinking spree."
"Oh, come on. Who says I am drunk? I am fine. Just give me back my glass," she motioned her hand towards Adiepena who just shook her head and walked away from her.
"Is everything okay, here?" Kevin asked as he walked towards Adiepena who had an annoyed look on her face.
"Kevin, you are still here?" she asked in return instead of answering the question.
"Yes I am. I actually came here with my friend. We were even about to leave when I saw you arguing with Cynthia. Can I help you girls?" Kevin answered.
"Actually, yes. Can you help me take them both back into the car? They are both drunk and I don't think I can carry them both out. Please, help me," Adiepena said.
"Of course. By the way, where is Chantel?" he asked.
"She decided to go and dance. I can't even find her anymore," Adiepena turned towards the dancefloor but could not even see Chantel.
"You know what? Let me just tell Bismarck to come help out with Cynthia then, I will go and look for Chantel, alright?"
"Thank you so much, Kevin. I really appreciate it."
"Okay. So, give me a sec, okay? I will be right back." Kevin turned away and walked towards the exit while Adiepena turned her attention towards Cynthia who had her head on the table. She looked like she was already sleeping.
Adiepena sighed again and called on the waiter, who was busily attending to other customers.
"Please, how much for the drinks?"
"500ghc, ma'am," the waiter replied.
Adiepena took out her purse and brought out some money out of it. She handed the money to the waiter.
"Keep the change and thank you," she smiled at the waiter who smiled back.
"Thank you, ma'am," he replied and went back to the other customers.
Kevin came back later with his friend, Bismarck in tow. Kevin introduced them.
"I don't know if you two know each other, but I am going to introduce you anyway. Bismarck, this is Adiepena. Adiepena, Bismarck, my best friend."
"Hello, nice to meet you," Bismarck said and stretched out his arm.
"Same here. I am very sorry about this inconvenience. I really am," Adiepena said and took his hand. She looked very embarassed about the situation but there was nothing she could do about it.
"Can you help me carry her friend to the car for me? I have to find Chantel and bring her too." Kevin said while he inspected Cynthia who was totally passed out.
"Sure, man." Bismarck said and lifted up Cynthia. "Can you please show me where you packed your car?" he asked Adiepena who had already picked Cynthia and chantel's purse as well.
"Yes. Please follow me this way," she said and started walking towards the exit.
Kevin then walked towards the dance floor. There were a lot of people and it was getting very difficult for him to pass in between them. He kept looking around, hoping to find Chantel in the crowd but could not find her anywhere. He almost turned away, but spotted her at the corner of the room. She was standing beside the wall, laughing hysterically as a man stood in front of her. He had his hands all over her and she seemed not to mind.
Kevin could feel his blood boiling but kept his cool. He walked towards them with a smile on his face.
"Well my friend, I think it's time you let the lady go. Fun time is over," he said to the man.
"And who are you to tell me that?" the man said with a growl, obviously annoyed someone decided to disturb him at this particular time.
"Who, me? I am nobody. But as I said, let the lady go. She is drunk and really not in a right frame of mind. I don't think a gentleman like yourself should take that as an advantage," Kevin answered.
"Get away from here, lowlife. If you know what is good for you," the man replied and turned his attention towards Chantel, who was finding the whole thing amusing.
"I really hoped it will not come to this," Kevin said and pushed the man away from Chantel. The man fell down on his side with a thud.
Kevin quickly grabbed Chantel's arm and pulled her towards him. "What are you doing with him, huh? Don't you know Adiepena is worried about you?"
The man who Kevin pushed quickly got on his feet. He brushed off the dirt from his clothes and walked towards Kevin, with a deadly look on his face. When Kevin saw him approaching them, he pulled Chantel behind him.
"How dare you push me?! Do you know who I am?" the man angrily asked and threw a punch which Kevin caught before it could land on his face.
He twisted the man's hand and got it behind the man's back, making him groan and scream in pain while he bent down on the floor. Kevin held him in that position for a while and the man begged him to leave him alone.
Kevin finally listened to the man and let him be. "Next time, don't start a fight you can't win."
He walked away from the man and pulled Chantel away with him. Chantel had a surprise look on her face and screamed in excitement as the fight was going on. She could not tell if everything that had happened was real or not. She was very drunk to know anything right now.
