She was startled by the incoming call . Shawn remains very busy most of the time . So she didn't expect him to call her immediately after getting the message . She picked up the call , but she didn't know where to start from , after the long emotional rollercoaster journey . She remained silent for some moments , that's when she heard his voice ....
" Enilese ? "
" Are you okay ? "
She couldn't bring herself to say anything , the only sound that came out off her throat was a faint whimper .
" Why are you crying ?...Enilese , tell me what happened ? " , Shawn said slowly .
A person can never know that the next moment of their life can turn into the most menacing moment . Even a very little , insignificant thing can change one's idea of life . For Enilese , the change occurred through the nightmare . She was carefree like wind , swift like water ; She knew how to grasp the essence of life , she knew how to enjoy every single moment of life . But .....the nightmare...it had plunged a lot of fears in her mind ..... fear of being incompetent ....fear of not being able to protect people.....fear of being rejected by Shawn .....fear of ever discovering Shawn's deeds .....fear of being in such position where she might need to choose between her duty as an Angel and Shawn ...so many fears .
She was eager to meet Shawn , talk to him , but when she got the chance her emotions became an obstacle for her .
Emotions are always complicated . Sometimes one cannot even understand their own emotions . The same thing was happening to Enilese . She herself couldn't understand why her eyes were becoming teary while hearing his voice , why her voice was refusing to reply .....
Finally , she spoke with a little sniffing sound , " Shawn !!! "
" Hmmm ?? "
" I'm sorry I couldn't reply to your calls and messages .....
Did you think badly of me ? "
The voice through the phone seemed to be eased a bit as the voice asked , " You tell me , what should I exactly think of you in such situation ? "
Enilese only sniffed once again .
Shawn continued , " Well , at first I thought , you were very busy . Then I thought , you might be sick . I also thought of the possibility of your phone being stolen or something like that . At the end ..."
" At the end , what ? " , Enilese asked .
Shawn started again , " I thought that you might have lost your interest in me . "
Enilese was seriously astonished , hearing the last sentence . She said , " Shawn ..... I can never lose my interest in you . "
....Pause...
" Shawn , I love you so much . " , she said faintly .
Shawn could feel that she was crying silently . He asked , " Why are you crying this much ? "
" Can we meet ? "
After some pause Shawn replied , " Let's meet tomorrow , if you are okay with that . "
" I'm okay ... See you . "
" Hmm , take care . "

" Pierce , I don't understand why you are saying these things to me ! "
" Rain , you were the one who insulted Enilese . You don't even know how much that affected her . Her condition deteriorated a lot because of those hurtful words . So ....."
" Wait , wait , Pierce . You were not even there so how do you know that it was me who insulted her and the words were hurtful ? Did that girl already complain to you against me ? "
" She didn't . She wasn't in the condition of complaining . But only you talk to her in such rude manner ."
" Look Pierce , I don't give a sh*t about who told you what but let me tell you one thing , I don't regret even a slightest bit for saying anything to her . What I said was truth and she deserved that for being so incompetent . "
" Aren't you being too rude ? These things are new to her . She needs time to get experienced . Please don't misbehave with her . "
" Pierce , just because I like you and we are in a relationship that doesn't mean that I'll listen to your every word . "
" Rain , you do know that Enilese is one of the people I cherish in my life . Your misbehaviour with her can affect our relationship . "
" Pierce , I hope , you're mature enough not to mix different relationships together . You have good bonding with Enilese , cherish her as much as you want . I don't like her , so let me decide how to behave with her . Me being in a relationship with you won't change my personal opinion on her . Lastly , you can break our relationship anytime if you ever find any problem with me , I'll accept that happily , but don't ever think of breaking up because of a third person . "

Enilese arrived at the park where they meet most of the time . She looked around to see if Shawn has arrived yet or not . She saw the familiar figure standing near the lake . She went to the figure and softly said , " Shawn ! "
Shawn turned around and as soon as his eyes fell on Enilese's appearance his expression changed .
" Enilese ..." , even before he could say anything further , Enilese hugged him tightly . It was sudden, still Shawn hugged her back .
In his arms Enilese felt at ease . His warmth calmed down her worrying soul . His scent comforted her restlessness .
They stayed like that for some time . Then Shawn asked , " Are you okay now ? "
" Hmmm . " , Enilese replied .
She broke the hug , Shawn said , " Let's sit . I can see , you are definitely not well . "
Shawn made her sit on a nearby bench and sat beside her . Enilese looked at him and said , " I missed you so much . Did you miss me ? "
" I did . That's why I messaged you so that we could meet . Now tell me , how are you ? "
" Good . I'm sorry , I didn't reply..."
" Don't think about that any more . Think about the present . It's good to see you . "
Enilese smiled , after some time she said , " Shawn , you are looking tired . "
" Enilese , you are looking pale and skinny . " , Shawn said in the same tone as Enilese . She smiled at that . Shawn continued , " You always look so bright .....so beautiful ... I was really shocked when I saw you in such a different state . "
" You mean , I'm not looking beautiful anymore ? " , Enilese said with a pout .
" Umm , exactly . " , Shawn said nonchalantly .
" Shawn !!! "
Shawn couldn't help but laugh a little as he said , " Okay , okay , I was kidding . You are always beautiful . "
Enilese couldn't but blushed a little .
This was new ....the cute bickering .....Shawn has never behaved this sweetly with her.....this easygoing interaction .....this sweetness ...she has never experienced before . She felt so touched .
He asked , " Anyway , what exactly happened to you ? "
" I had a bad fever . "
" Fever ? Is it over completely ? " , saying that he touched her forehead taking her hand in his .
" Yes , it's over . I'm okay now . "
" You shouldn't have come in this weak state . You should rest more . We could've met later . "
" I don't want to rest anymore . I've rested enough . And most importantly , I wanted to see you . "
" I see . "
They started talking about this and that . Enilese didn't realise that she was coming out of her trauma with every passing moment . Her anxiety about her nightmare was fading away bit by bit . She was getting better with every happy memory that her mind was creating in Shawn's company . It was clear , Shawn was the very cure she needed the most in the last few days .
" But , how did you suddenly get the fever ? Did you catch a cold ? " , Shawn asked .
" Umm , not really . "
" Ohh and , did you have anyone to take care of you ? I didn't know where you live so I couldn't come to meet you . "
" It's okay . I live in a boarding house type of place . But fortunately I have two amazing people by my side , they took care of me as my real parents . " , she laughed after saying that , she continued again , " You know Shawn , they are just a few years older than me but they are no less than parent figures . They support me a lot . "
" It's really good to have such people around . Thank that couple from my behalf too . "
" Okay , but a bit of correction , they are not couple ."
" Oh , you said parent figures so I got confused . Anyway thank them . "
" I'll . But , sometimes I really think that they would've made an amazing pair . "
" By the way , would you like to tell me why were you crying so much yesterday ? "

Shawn was caressing Enilese's hand all this while , suddenly some marks , peeping out off her sleeve , caught his eyes . He looked at the marks closely moving her sleeve a little . His eyes turned cold as soon as he recognised the marks .
" Enilese , what are these marks ? "
