Chapter 17 - CHAPTER 15

POV: Alexis Rockefeller

Hi mam good morning!" The crew of 7/11 store greeted me. I just smiled and upped my head.

I want to buy some drinks for recess later.

"Hi miss beautiful" While I'm choosing the drinks there's familiar voice who called me.

Jhomar is smiling at me.

"Ow it's nice to see you." I said then smiled at him.

"Let's drink? Jhomar invited me to drink and eat some food here in 7/11 before we entered to the school.

"How are you? I saw that you're doing good in our subjects." He said and he drank his drink in can.

"You know what? I found out that studying is not really boring. Well sometimes I feel bored but it's fun actually." I said then I also drank my milk in the box.

"Wow, this is the first time that I heard that words from you. Am I dreaming?" He teased me then laughed. That's why I also laughed at him.

"Can I ask you something?" He said and his mood became serious.

"What's that?"

"We are best friends for so many years." He said seriously. I feel nervous because I think I know what he's going to say next.

"I wanna say thank you for being my friend for so many years and thank you because you trusted me even my friends are tried to rape you. You still trusted me." Jhomar said and his tears would tear drop.

"Stop that okay? We are not in the drama." I said then he laughed in what I said.

"Okay, here is what I want to ask from you. This is the last time I will ask you." He said while looking directly in my eyes.

"What was that?" I said in calm tone, I didn't show my nervous.

"You know that I've wanted you for a long time." He said then he held my hands.

"Do I still have a chance to you?" He said. I don't know what to say.

"I have already said to you I'm your best friend. I love you but as my best friend. You are handsome, cool, tall and rich. You are my companion. That's why I am also thankful because I met you." I said seriously then he just smiled but his sadness is very visible on his face.

"Why are you sad? Don't be sad and stay cool. You are the heartthrob in our campus, remember?" There are so many girls who chasing you. They're chasing Jhomar Lacson. Don't worry I'm still your companion. We are best friends and it will never change. I said then he hugged me tightly. His tears fell on my shoulder. I felt his emotion. I felt guilt but I know there's nothing wrong in what I said. We can dictate our hearts when it beat or whom it will beat.

"Okay class today we'll discuss our Philippine history. History is biased, there are so many things that didn't teach in your elementary and high school days. So now let's talk about our Philippine history.

"The history of the Philippines is known to have begun at least 709,000 years ago as suggested by the discovery of Pleistocene stone tools and butchered animal remains associated with hominin activity.[1] Homo luzonensis, a species of archaic humans, was present on the island of Luzon at least 67,000 years ago.[2][3] The earliest known modern human was from the Tabon Caves in Palawan dating about 47,000 years.[4] Negrito groups were the first inhabitants to settle in the prehistoric Philippines.[5] By around 3000 BC, seafaring Austronesians reached northern Philippines migrating southward from Taiwan.[6]

Scholars generally believe that these social groups eventually developed into various settlements or polities with varying degrees of economic specialization, social stratification, and political organization.[7] Some of these settlements (mostly those located on major river deltas) achieved such a scale of social complexity that some scholars believe they should be considered early states.[8] This includes the predecessors of modern-day population centers such as Maynila, Tondo, Pangasinan, Cebu, Panay, Bohol, Butuan, Cotabato, Lanao, and Sulu[9] as well as some polities, such as Ma-i, whose possible location is Mindoro or Laguna.[10]

These polities were either influenced by the Hindu-Buddhist[11] Indian religion, language, culture, literature and philosophy from India through many campaigns from India including the South-East Asia campaign of Rajendra Chola I,[12] Islam from Arabia, or were Sinified tributary states allied to China. These small maritime states flourished from the 1st millennium.[13][14] These kingdoms traded with what are now called China, India, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.[15] The remainder of the settlements were independent barangays allied with one of the larger states. These small states alternated from being part of or being influenced by larger Asian empires like the Ming Dynasty, Majapahit and Brunei or rebelling and waging war against them."

Mr. Katipunan teaching the history of the Philippines. I didn't feel bored in the topic because I think this one is interesting.

There are so many lessons taught by the teachers and finally the school bell rang. So we have to take a lunch break.

I went to canteen to order foods. I remembered that Chalize is still busy. Actually I miss that talkative best friend.

"Can I sit beside you?" While I'm eating there's a familiar voice who talked to me. Roggen Trinity?! His hair is messy again. Sometimes he is good looking but he's always ugly.

"Can I?" He asked me again.

"Yup you can sit if you want." I said in rude tone.

"Nice so sweet" He said then smiled widely.

"Are you insulting me again? If you wanna insult me, you can leave". I said.

"I'm just kidding" He said then he did a peace sign. I remembered what happened yesterday.

"Is that true that your are the man who saved me to the rapist?" I asked him seriously.

He just nodded.

"Why you didn't tell me?"

"Because you didn't asked" He said with neutral emotion.

"How can I ask if I didn't know who is that man who saved me!? I shouted at him because he is talking like a fool person.

"Relax okay I'm just kidding." He said then smiled.

"For me, it's not important to tell that I had helped you. I'm not the type of person that is telling what I have done. For me it's okay to do good things in silent, rather than telling that you are doing good but your action is silent." He said seriously.

"What are you fighting for?" I teased him.

"I'm just expressing my feelings and thoughts." He said then we both laughed. Awkward.

"I noticed that you're listening carefully to our lesson." After a few silent he talked again.

"The topic is interesting, I remember what have you told about the story of the two lovers in this campus. Is that true?" I asked him because my heart hurts when he told the story of two couples that hiding their relationship. They're sentenced to death by the priest. The mestiso hadn't forsook and left her love one.

"Of course that's true. According to sayings, there is priest that one of the founder of this school and he gave curse to the lovers that really love each other will never be together." Roggen said that's why I felt the sadness.

"Why did the preist do that?" I asked.

"Because his secrets revealed because of the two lovers." He said seriously.

"Do you wanna know that story?" He asked me while looking directly in my eyes.

"Yup, do you know that story!? I exclaimed.

"Slightly, but before I tell the story. I wanna ask you a question. He said seriously. I felt nervous in him I don't know why.

"Do you believe in everlasting love?" He said and my heart is beating so loud. Why do I feel this feeling?
