Chapter 6 - DEADLY TRAP

𝘾𝙚𝙘𝙚'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑:

"How long does it take you to complete a single mission? ", my boss questioned me.

" Sir, I told you I'm planning everything in the right direction. Liam is not an easy target. He is always cautious and no one had ever won a fight against him. I'm using Hannah to get him. This plan will succeed. ", I answered my boss whose identity I didn't know yet.

Well, it's the perks of being an assassin. You get money transferred to you anonymously by a third party after the job is done. But you never get to know who is your boss. By the way, even if I fail in my mission, the identity of my boss is safe.

"Already your agent Gus was exposed yesterday. He is probably dead by now in the hands of that vicious Liam. So if we make one wrong move now, our whole plan goes down in the drain. ", I explained the current situation to him clearly. There was silence and I know he is thinking about it.

" Okay, I want you to complete everything in two weeks. After that you know me," he said and hung up the line.

I have very little time now.

Cece told me that we were going somewhere this afternoon. I didn't expect her to drive me to the beach.

" Why are we here, is it about Liam? I told you I don't want to see him again. " I am mad at her now. Why doesn't she listen to what I say??? Why is she always so self minded.

" I don't have time to hear your bickering. If you don't meet Liam now, he will fire me and I don't want to lose my job. So if you don't want to see him again you can say it to him yourself. ", she said parking the car along the beach road.

I got out of the car and went straight to the beach. It was difficult to walk on the sand in my heels. Somehow I reached the shore and saw the waves of the beach traveling back and forth.

One thing was fishy. Why does Liam want to marry me? I know he doesn't love me. He wasn't even interested in knowing me yesterday, he just wanted my body.

He is a billionaire, can't he get a better girl than me. Suddenly I felt someone approaching me. I looked over and saw Liam walking towards me.

He was flawlessly handsome even now which made me hard to even speak. Maybe I can't speak up for myself when it comes to Liam. I should give up my dignity and do whatever he wants me to.

"Come on let's go on for a walk ".

We both started walking on the sand.

" Okay, and tell me why do you want to see me again. " I asked him.

But he didn't answer. We both were just walking on the beach now. Why doesn't he speak at all?

But I stopped right on my track after seeing a huge heart sign carved in sand. Inside it was written in 'Marry Me'.

I looked at Liam and he got down on one knee and said, " Marry Me, Hannah ". Then he took out a diamond ring. At first, I thought that it must be a prank.

He looked at me and said sternly " You are mine now. We are getting married tomorrow." With that, he gave the ring to me and kissed my lips.

" Is it a prank? ", I questioned feeling a bit awkward.

He just gazed at me with his usual expressionless stare and said, "I'm not a crazy high school teenager. I don't do pranks. "

After that, he just walked away from me.

I was dazed and also angry. What does he think of himself? I just met him two days ago and now he is proposing to me???? This is just crazy.

Cece came running towards me. She was very happy for me. But I wasn't. " You are engaged, Congratulations my dear". I don't know why she is this happy for me.

" I don't want to marry him, Cece, look at this sand carving. It just says 'Marry me'. There is no 'Will you marry me? '.

This is not a choice, this is an order by him. He doesn't love me.

" He is incapable of even having a normal conversation with me. I can't do this Cece, Help me.", I cried to her now.

"You are overthinking this Hannah. For God's sake, he just lost his uncle and elder brother six months ago. He has no family left now. So he thinks it's time to leave out his playboy lifestyle and settle down. He asked me to set him up with a girl. And I took your name. I did everything to make him like you and today you are marrying a billionaire. You should be thanking me."

This hit me hard. I can accept the fact that Liam wants to settle down and everything. But why does Cece wants me to marry him? What is she up to? If he just wants a wife then why doesn't she try to marry Liam??? Why set me up for this?

Something is not right with this. Instead of questioning Cece, I should ask Liam himself about what the fuck is happening here.

I left the beach without answering Cece and entered the beach house where Liam went. I went inside the room which looked like a workspace and found Liam discussing ing with some people.

He saw me entering and signaled everyone else to leave the room.

"I know you don't love me. Then why the fuck do you want to marry me. "I yelled at him even before those people could leave.

He was intrigued by the way I confronted him. Maybe he didn't expect this. " I thought you were just a cray stupid girl but looks like you are wiser. Good for you."

He got up from his chair and came closer to me. I stepped back a little feeling intimidated. " Look Hannah, it's true I don't love you because I have never loved anyone in my life and I don't believe in these teenage romances. I just want a wife now and you need money. We all have some requirements, don't we? So all you have to do is just be my wife and live the luxurious life I give you in return. Do we have a deal here? ", he questioned me.

" No, we don't have a deal. I don't want to marry a man who can't even have a proper conversation with me. I need money, but not like this. I'm sorry ", I answered.

I removed my engagement ring and kept it on the desk nearby. I tried to leave but Liam held by hand.

I looked over and saw Liam. He looked so threatening that I got scared just by his gaze.

" When I make a deal then it's final. You have no option except agreeing to this. I hate people who are stubborn and disobey me. Now let's go again, do we have a deal here? ".

" Are you trying to scare me or something? I'm not afraid of you and I won't marry a psychopath like you. "

His face got red with anger and suddenly he took out a gun from his pocket and pointed it to my head.

It all happened so fast and it took me a while to realize that I'm being held at gunpoint. I screamed in horror.

" Listen to me carefully sweetheart. People around me always listen to me so I'm not used to this kind of stubbornness. If you try to test my patience one more time, remember it will be the last day of your life. "

He put his gun back in his pocket while I was still in horror. Did he just threaten me with a gun or am I just hallucinating?

" And sweetheart, within ten days we are getting married. Cece will take care of your clothes and everything else because she will be your bridesmaid," he said and walked away from me to the table. He was looking at something on his tablet.

" I'm calling the cops and I'll tell them everything that you have threatened me with a gun and forcing me to marry you," I screamed at him.

He started giggling. " My dear baby girl, check social media. I'm one of the most powerful business tycoons in LA. There are thousands of gossips about me being an alien, vampire, serial killer, etc. And if you call the cops out of blue and tell them that the most eligible bachelor in the city threatened me, do you think that they will believe you?

LA is my territory and I have my men everywhere. If you try to mess with me, you will not away from it."

I was dazed for a few seconds. " LA is your territory? You have your men everywhere? What do you mean?"

He smirked at me. " I thought were smart enough to figure out that I am a mobster."

My mouth went dry after hearing what he just said. He is a mobster???? And Cece sold me to a mobster for money. Maybe that's why she didn't try to marry him because she didn't want to get involved in these kinds of mafia activities. She just wanted money.

I always thought Cece like my elder sister. Tears started to flow down my eyes as I thought about how my best friend betrayed me for some dollars.

Just then I thought of a plan. What if I run away from here?

I opened the door and walked outside. There were Liam's men everywhere but they didn't notice me.

This is my chance. I went outside the beach house only to find Cece standing in the entrance.

" Where are you going, Hannah? " she asked.

" Away from all of you, leave me alone ", I said and tried to walk away.

But Cece gripped my shoulder firmly and said, " If you leave, you are dead. Liam's men are all over LA under the disguise of normal people. If you walk away, he will find you in one hour, and the very next hour you are probably dead."

At that moment I realized that this is a deadly trap with no way out.
