Chapter 10 - NEED A MIRACLE

Why did that double agent Cece manipulate me into marrying Hannah? There must be a reason for that.

I think I have fallen right into my rival's trap by imprisoning Hannah.

And this Hannah just won't tell me the truth. She says that her parents died long ago in a car crash.

She is just acting. I need to find out about that. I appointed my circle member Danny to interrogate her.

Danny drilled Hannah for two hours. I told him to not touch or hurt her. He was only allowed to verbally abuse and scare her.

And she also fell unconscious as she was given no food and water for 5 hours. I sent Larry, my most trusted friend and the doctor in our circle to examine her.

Danny on other hand said that he wasted five hours of his life drilling her.

He got nothing useful. She said that only Cece was involved with assassins. Maybe she is innocent.

That is what I thought so. But my investigators found out a few minutes ago that her elder brother Hector Miller could be the leader of assassins.

My theory is that Patterson gave up a son and daughter for adoption to an Oregon family when he was on the run from the government. Hector should have tracked his biological father and reunited with him.

This Patterson should have formed this assassin's union and supplied them with all his illegal weapons. And Hector should have got the post of the assassin's leader through nepotism.

I think this is the truth but I don't know for sure. Because something doesn't add up. Why would these assassins sacrifice Patterson's daughter to me?

And this Hannah still doesn't know that she was adopted. Or maybe acts like doesn't know. Because she keeps on telling that her parents died.

I think that Hannah is really stupid or mentally unstable. Because people don't surrender themselves especially to a Drug Lord when they have affiliations with assassins.

She not only did ruin her chances of freedom, but she also made their mission fail by surrendering to me. If all of my enemies are stupid like her, then I would have no problem running my empire.

I could now negotiate with this Hector guy. He would try to contact me now. Because it's his sister who is trapped here.

Now we have an advantage over those assassins.

The very next moment Ricky barged. " Sorry for interrupting. But Cece called me just now."

I stood up straight at the mention of her name. " Why would a traitor call you?"

Ricky didn't meet my eyes. He gazed down. " I dated Cece and I wasn't aware that she was an assassin. She used me to get in our circle. I didn't know the truth until yesterday. I'm sorry Mr. Eaton. It's my fault that this all happened. "he said.

This is the same thing that happened to my brother. Maybe female assassins always play their mission by seducing.

" Looks like these assassins are sending these bitches to fuck us. This is their strategy so we should check the relationship status of all our gang members and do a background check on them. "

Ricky didn't even react. Maybe he was still heartbroken that his girlfriend betrayed him. " Mr. Eaton, Cece told me that Hannah is not an assassin. Her relationship with her brother is estranged and it was only Cece who was involved. And she told me that even Hannah is our target. "

" Ricky, are you seriously believing that bitch? She used you and betrayed all of us. Why don't you understand that she is just doing it to protect Hannah?"

" You are right. I should not speak to her anymore. She is just trying to manipulate me. " he said.

" No, you will speak to her. Whenever she calls you, pick up. You are going to make her feel guilty for breaking your heart. If she calls you, then it means she is weak. She might crack just like Hannah did. We are going to use the situation to our advantage."

Ricky's eyes started to glow. " You are right Mr. Eaton. She sounded very emotional like she was regretting something. "

So I was right. Cece is going to break down soon. " These girls might be bitches but they have a heart. They are impossibly in love with us. So all you have to do is act like you are in love with them too. And she will too surrender to us just like Hannah did. "

" Okay, Mr. Eaton. What about our negotiation with Hector?"

" We will negotiate with Hector. It's important to know our enemy. "

Ricky nodded. These assassins may plan their every move. But we will always be two steps ahead of them.

I opened my eyes and looked at Liam who was seated on the couch. I noticed that my left hand alone was cuffed to the headboard.

Liam noticed that I am awake and he came to me.

" So my sweetheart is finally awake. How are you feeling? ".

I was tied to a chair last time I remembered. Why did he put me in bed now? I must have gone unconscious. Liam pulled over a chair next to the bed and sat on it. I noticed that it was the same chair in which I was tired up a few hours ago.

" Look, I can explain. I moved in with Cece when I was just 16. I didn't know that she was involved in any of this stuff until last week. Maybe she did it for money but she dragged me into this by introducing me to you. It was all her plan." I tried to explain.

" So you are not going to confess about who you are really, are you?" he asked.

I was confused. What is he talking about? I told him everything. But he refuses to believe.

" I don't know what you are talking about. " I said weakly.

" Are you going to stop lying to your teeth and agree that your father is an illegal arms trafficker?" he yelled.

" What the hell are you saying? My parents died ten years ago. My brother killed my parents."

I think he is just crazy or just talking to the wrong person. Why would my father sell illegal weapons? He was a car mechanic.

" Okay sweetheart. Now tell your brother killed your parents in Oregon. But why?" he asked.

How the hell did he know that my parents lived in Oregon. Of course, he married me and he should have checked my records.

I took a deep breath. Because I always hated to speak about my brother. He is a monster. What kind of person kills his parents.

" Are you going to answer or not?", he snarled.

" Okay. I'm telling you about my brother's truth. My brother was a troubled child since he was a little kid. He killed our dog Choco when he was just five. He used to put acids in the fish tank to kill fishes. He just liked killing living things so much that he got addicted to it.

My parents tried to cure him. But it just got worse. He joined street gangs and started doing shady stuff. He would bring home guns and get in a fight with goons. And then -" I paused for a moment. I started to feel depressed just by thinking about those events.

" And then what happened?" he asked.

I gathered my strength to speak again. " My parents tried to send him to the school for troubled teens. Then he just got mad and shot my parents in the living room. " I could feel the tears tracing down my face.

" And how did your brother manage to convince the cops that they died in the car crash? Did someone help him?" he asked.

Seriously, how does he knows this much about my past?

" My brother's mentor assisted him in that. He was the leader of the street gang in which my brother was involved."

Liam's expression got serious. " Wait a minute. What is the name of your brother's mentor?"

" I don't remember his full name. But everyone addressed him as Rey."

" Is his first name Reynolds? "

" Yes," I replied wondering how he knew about him. Then I realized that he was a Drug Lord. They must have some kind of connection in the underworld.

" Okay sweetheart. Thank you for telling everything," he said and got up from the chair.

He was about to leave the room. " Stop. Why are you inquiring about my brother?"

" Because he is the leader of the assassins and you are acting so innocent like you know nothing," he shouted at the top of his voice.

" Why are you punishing me like this? I am alienated from my brother. And I know nothing about him."

He didn't even reply to that. He just got up and left the room. I felt hopeless. There was no one, not even a single soul who cared for me right now. Everyone I know wants to kill me sooner or later. I cried thinking about the stupid decision I made when I was 13.

When I found my parents died in the living room, I didn't know who killed them. My brother lied to me that some robbers broke into the house and killed mom and dad.

I was foolish enough to believe his story. It took me three years to find out the truth that my brother did it. That's when I ran away from my brother and moved in with Cece.

I thought that I can rely on Cece. In the end, she too betrayed me. It was hard to swallow that she went behind my back and worked for my brother. Everyone I have ever known has lied and manipulated me. Why me?

I closed my eyes and prayed for a miracle that would free me from this situation.
