Chapter 3 - 03:05am.

Once the initial shock settled, Dandy removed the cover from her frame and swung her legs out to the edge of the bed, the cool carpet softly tickling at the soles of her feet. Grasping ahold of her oxygen taken, a short inhale would be heard, along with the pitter patter of the floor as she made her way towards her window and felt the cool autumn breeze against her skin. As she reached the window, her right leg adjusted for her to sit upon the shelf under her window, the other leg followed and stretched out across the ledge. Her forehead rested against the window frame, nudging it up further she looked out further into the distance and at the barren night streets that was silent of any form of life. It was almost perfect, as if she was reading one of her novels or watching a movie.

Dandy's ocean blue eyes glanced towards the houses across the street, before looking towards her clock on her bedside desk. Her alarm clock reading "03:05" it was still early hours of the morning. Her hand moved to the black feathered fairylights that decorated her window; giving her more light to look around her own space. Dandy then rose her hand to her face as she inspected her chipped black nails, before running them through her hair to take the strands off her face- the hairband removed as she slept. As her fingers raked through her hair her eyes fell upon the street once again; the collection of trees found at the end of her street, along with the various scatters of bushes and piles of leaves due to the autumn weather, she couldn't help but admire it all. She loved autumn. Dandy loved the colour of the leaves, the barren trees that all seemed to hold each other on the branches for support in the milder weather, the way the leaves would shower on you as the wind picked up, the way everything would be warm colours. Her eyes glanced towards a large pile of leaves, before she heard voices.

"What the hell?" She muttered, as she looked to her clock once again, then outside once again.

".. Look, It's just for a few months, please." The familiar voice begged, Dandy's eyes narrowed trying to adjust to the darkness of the doorstep where the voices spoke in the distance.

"I don't want too." A deeper voice replied, as the dark figures began to move down the path in the dark. She watched their figures move, slowly tugging her hair behind her ear in attempts to help her hear.

"Please! For me!" She yelled out, making the neighbourhood dogs all bark. The voices then became quieter as they moved closer once again, before Dandy then froze. As she glanced, she swore they froze and were looking at her, she tilted her head and inhaled sharply.

"I could play this off as if I was looking at the sky.." her inner voice spoke to her, as she then pulled her curtain back to expose the oxygen tank she sat next to her, pretending to adjust her clear tubes, before pretending to check the pressure. Her heart raced heavier than before, watching the figured move down their path and point in her direction. They slowly began to head down towards her house on thr pavement.

"Just.. WORK!" She now called out annoyed, as she began to inhale heavily out of the window, ripping her nasal canal out as she continued to breathe heavily: it was her only chance to throw them off, she pretended to have trouble with her oxygen tank.

"Please just work, please.." she spoke loudly, as she now moved her tank into the centre of her lap as she continued to pretend to play with it. Her frame raised and lowered with her breathing, as her eyes found the frame had frozen, as if they were listening.

Dandy then threw her head back against her wall and a hand moved to place her canal back into place.

Please go away.. Please go away..

Dandy begged quietly to herself, as her eyes glanced over to where the figure once was, seeing them now had stood back on their doorstep. Dandy would now slowly sit herself up from the wall, moving her legs off the ledge as she would quickly move from the window. Her frame quickly grasped the oxygen tank and threw it to her bed, as she moved over to her bed with it, without thinking she climbed into bed and forgot to close her window and turn off her fairy lights as she had more important things to be worried about.

As her frame sunk into her bed, her eyes closed for a moment.

Was the new neighbours already having a midnight argument? Their first night on the street and they're having a screaming match? But if thats so.. why did he come towards the house? Why did he care if I heard? Everyone heard.. that wasn't normal. She thought to herself, as she adjusted her oxygen tank and moved it to lay against her spare spot in her bed, as she felt the heavy feeling from the nightmare and the neighbour ease. Reaching over to her phone that was propped up, she unlocked it and began to type in her 4-digit password. Once unlocked, she then moved her Netflix list across until finally finding Howl's Moving Castle.

Clicking play, Dandy felt her eyes become heavier after listening and watching the movie for alittle while, before everything fading into darkness once again.
