"Nova, wait up!" I called up to her as she ran, turning in a circle. She was smiling. "This place is so cool!" She cheered as I caught up to her. "Have you never been to one of these places?" Elian asked her, drinking his soda. "Mom doesn't let me go to a lot of places if I don't do well" I could feel her pain, "What do you want to do next?" Elian asked her, She grabbed onto our arms pulling us to the tallest roller coaster in the park. "This one" , I feel my knees get weak. "Um, I'm thirsty, so you two go" I gave a smile before running off. I let out a soft sigh, but I can't go on any more roller coasters, that punishment keeps coming into mind. Thinking about it makes me shivred. This place is an old dark memory, "Soleil?". 'That voice, finally' "Ryuko…" I smiled brightly, but it soon faded as I saw a guy with her. She squealed, running over to me, hugging me tightly. She was wearing a shirt with the same green as my eyes. She smiled, grabbing the boy's arm, "Soleil this is my boyfriend Liam, Liam this is Soleil".
"Nice to meet you" I smiled, but I was hurt, I get it we were just kids, kids with stupid crushes. "So can I ask why you even answer any of my text messages?"
"I broke my phone, I didn't remember your number".
"Oh okay…" I can't be angry right now, I can't grab onto her like I did with Chole. "It's fine" I smiled, "Here" She gave me her new number. "Call me when you get the chance".
"Of course-".
"Sis, that roller coaster was so fun" Nova hugged me tightly. "Your shaking kid" I giggled, "Yeah, I can't feel my legs".
"Oh, this is Nova, my little sister". I watched as Nova's eyes lit up, "I didn't know you had friends" .
"I- of course I do" I soon hear Ryuko giggling, feeling my heart stop, the whole world stopped. I couldn't hear anything else but her, her laughter. "Well, it's nice to meet you, miss Nova, I'm Mio",
"Your name is so pretty" I watched as Nova smiled, "Will we get to see you more, Mio?". Ryuko looked over at me, "That's all up to Soleil".
"Sis, can we hang out with Mio tomorrow?" She bounced, excitedly. "That's all up to Mio" I looked back to Ryuko. "Of course, tomorrow at 5" She smiled cheekily, "We'll be there" I looked away, a small blush covering my cheeks. "See you then, Sunshine" She giggled, leaving. Nova hugged me tightly, "Thank you", I smiled "Of course, but we should get home, you have a math test tomorrow" I watched her smile fade, "Oh, okay".
"Soleil, wake up", My eyes flutter opened, "Were, Home" I yawned, "I'm too tired to move" I closed my eyes, curling up again. I hear Elian sigh as I fall asleep. I groan hearing my alarm go off. I move my hand slowly, turning it off. Today is the day I get to see her again but first, let's get Nova from school. I threw on a flower dress, and white stocking as I went down the stairs. "I'm going to get Nova, meet me at mom's!" I yelled to Elian "Okay!", I hummed softly as I got in the car heading to Nova's school. I waited outside my car for about ten minutes. I watched as a depressed Nova filled with teary eyes came out. I rushed over to her, kneeling down. "What's wrong, what happened?" I asked worriedly. " I failed, and we studied all yesterday" She cried to me, handing me the test paper. "You passed, it's a D" I told her with a small smile. "An A is passing, Soleil I failed, I'll get nowhere in life". "Nova, that's not true, I promise".
"How can you promise that?"
"I got the same grades as you, I went through the same pain, but I'm here, you have me and I will do everything to make you happy" I hugged her tightly. "You don't need to be a straight A student, you don't need to be perfect, you just need to do your best and I will be proud" I feel her grab onto my back. "Thank you". I could see how scared Nova was as we got to mother's. I held her hand as we walked in. "Nova, How was your test?" She asked as she sipped her tea. I watched Nova hand her the paper. "Why must I have failures for kids?" I can see Nova starting to cry, "Shut up!" I yelled, "You are a horrible mother, no, you are no mother" I clenched my fist. "You were no mother to me, you are no mother to her. You treat us like garbage. How can you just be proud for just a damn minute, can you see how much you put on us? How the hell can we reach your standards when they are untouchable. You aren't happy with C, a B, and even A sometimes, you just like seeing us cry. Your awful " I walked over to her, "And you will not bring her down"
