Chapter 35 - 35

DEMI'S POV

One month. So much has happened in one month. It's too much to handle. I started therapy again. Everything that has happened is finally taking its toll on me.

"Alex! Are you ready to go?!" I yelled up the stairs. Today she was going to hang out at Kenzie's place. Alex wasn't too keen on it because Kenzie has seen her cuts, but I convinced her. I needed her to go there because she doesn't know I'm going to therapy.

"Yes! Let me grab my inhaler!" She yelled back.

"Good thinking!" I replied. She bounded down the stairs in one of her usual outfits. She was wearing a leather jacket which had red and white stripes around the sleeves and waist area, a red Billie Eilish t-shirt, black ripped skinny jeans, and red combat boots.

I was wearing a light blue jean jacket, light gray t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and plain white sneakers.

"Do you have everything?" I asked Alex as we both got in the car.

"Yes!" She smiled. It made me happy seeing Alex being genuinely happy. I never saw this side of her in a while.

"I'll be back to pick you up in an hour!" I smiled at her as she got out of the car. "I love you, baby girl!"

"Bye! I love you!" She waved and ran inside. I sighed as I drove off to my therapist's office.

"Hello, Demi. It's nice to see you again." Mrs. Jones said as I sat down in front of her. You may be wondering why her name sounds familiar. It's because Alex and I have the same therapist. "How have you been?"

I sighed. "I could be better."

"Can you explain what you mean by that?" She asked pulling out her clipboard.

"Everything that happened this past month is finally taking a toll on me, I guess. Like Alex's suicide attempt, her self harming, her eating habits. I feel like I'm not doing a good job at raising her." I said quietly.

"We get a lot of parents thinking that they aren't doing a good job at raising their kids. I believe you're doing a great job at raising her, for being a single mother. You're giving her the best life imaginable, she's able to be honest with her emotions to you. Most teenagers her age are afraid to speak to their parents about the stuff she's going through. You're also getting her the help she needs. I'm sure Alex would agree and say you're doing a good job at raising her." Mrs. Jones replied. "How often do you think about this?"

"Every fucking night.." I choked out.

"Do you think we should raise your dose of medication?" Mrs. Jones asked looking up, her glasses on the tip of her nose.

"That might help." I replied. She wrote something on a piece of paper.

"I recommend you relax your mind, do some yoga. Maybe some meditation. Anything to clear and relax your mind. Come back later this week. Okay?"

"Okay. Thanks so much." I smiled before walking out the door, and getting in my car to pick up Alex.

A/N: Sorry this isn't as long as most of my chapters. I just wanted some type of filler chapter. If you want to leave me some ideas, I'd appreciate it.
