ALEX'S POV
I was in my room getting ready for a photo shoot I had in a couple hours. I was pretty excited because it's been a while since I did one. I was dancing in my room to some music and I tripped over Batman.
"Fuck! I'm sorry Batman!" I picked him up and kissed his head. "Mom! Batman deserves a treat!"
"Why?!" She yelled up the stairs.
"I accidentally tripped over him!"
"Only you!"
"At least I didn't trip trying to get a popsicle!" I laughed.
"Oh shush, Alexis Grace!"
"Demetria Devonne!" I mocked sassily. She was recording our little argument. It was hilarious.
"You got my sass! Holy fuck!" She laughed and she posted it on her snapchat story.
I continued to get ready and Grandma, Grandpa, Dallas, and Maddie all came over to talk to Mom since we were leaving for the tour in a week. I decided to take a selfie and I posted it on Instagram. I captioned it "What's wrong with being confident? ๐๐"
I sighed after looking at all the hate and put my phone down.
"Alex! My favorite and only grandchild!" I heard and was quickly picked up. I panicked and flashbacks to the night my dad beat me came to my head.
"S-Stop! Don't hurt me! P-Please! I'm s-sorry!" I screamed. I squirmed out of his grip and backed up into the corner. It felt like my dad was in the room. "I'm s-sorry, Dad! P-Please don't hurt m-me!"
DEMI'S POV
"S-Stop! Don't hurt me! P-Please! I'm s-sorry!" Alex screamed from upstairs.
"ALEX?!" I yelled up the stairs. No answer.
"I'm s-sorry, Dad! P-Please don't hurt m-me!" She screamed more. Dad? Her dad isn't here? Fuck! Probably PTSD! I quickly ran upstairs and into her room. I saw Eddie who looked confused.
"Dad, I'll handle this. Go downstairs.. please. I'll explain later." I shoved him out of the room. I slowly went up to Alex who was balled up in a corner. "Alex, baby. It's me." I went to hold her and she flinched.
ALEX'S POV
"Alex, I promise it's Mom." I quickly lunged at her and she held me. She held my head to her chest.
"M-Mommy?" I choked out. She rocked back and forth with me in her arms.
"Yes. It's Mommy, baby girl. I promise it's me. I'm not going to leave you." She cooed.
"S-Sing to me?" I croaked out and asked nervously.
"Of course, baby."
You've got a face for a smile, you know
A shame you waste it
When you're breaking me slowly but I've
Got a world of chances, for you
I've got a world of chances, for you
I've got a world of chances
Chances that you're burning through.
I've got a paper and pen
I go to write a goodbye
And that's when I know I've
Got a world of chances, for you
I've got a world of chances, for you
I've got a world of chances
Chances that you're burning through
Oh I'm going my own way
My faith has lost its strength again
And oh It's been too hard to say
We're falling off the edge again
We're at an end
We're at an end
Maybe you'll call me someday
Hear the operator say the number's no good
And that she had
A world of chances, for you
She had a world of chances, for you
She had a world of chances
Chances you were burning through
Chances you were burning through
Chances you were burning through oh
You've got a face for a smile, you know
DEMI'S POV
I finished singing and noticed she fell asleep. I gently put her in her bed. I'll let her rest till it's time to leave for the photo shoot. I walked downstairs to the rest of my family.
"Wow, Demi. I didn't know you had that in you." Maddie said shocked.
"What do you mean? How did you hear what happened?" I was obviously confused.
"We heard on the baby monitor." My Mom explained. "Why do you have one anyways?"
"Alex has been having nightmares recently. I want to be able to hear when she is having one, so I went out and bought them." I explained to them. I sighed as I sat down at the kitchen island.
"What's wrong?" Dallas asked, sitting next to me.
"She has been having so many panic attacks and nightmares recently. Ever since that night. I'm just worried and scared I guess. She's my baby girl." I said playing with the rings on my fingers.
"You mean since the night her Dad beat her?" Dallas asked in a casual tone like it was nothing.
"Wait what?!" Mom, Dad, and Maddie asked at the same time.
"I thought she didn't know her dad. He walked out on you." Mom was confused.
"Long story. She asked about her dad and wanted to meet him. I had a meeting with Scooter, my manager, about the tour. Aaron said he would drive Alex home for me. I reluctantly agreed. He beat her and left her in an alley way! Worse could've happened! Luckily Dallas lived nearby. I wish I didn't agree to let him take her home. This wouldn't have happened. It's all my fault."
"Dems, it's not your fault. You didn't know what was going to happen. None of us did." Dallas spoke softly and hugged me. I hugged back.
"I'm just worried about her. With all the nightmares and panic attacks she's been having recently. I don't know what to do. I recently found out that she's been purging, I don't even know how long! She even relapsed and harmed herself the other day. If it wasn't for Maddie calling me I would've never known." I sighed and played with my rings again.
"Why don't you send her to rehab?" Dad asked.
"There's no way in hell I'm sending Alex to rehab. It helped me, don't get me wrong, but it's a scary place." I put my head in my hands.
"What about going to see a doctor and her seeing a therapist? She could get some medication." Dallas suggested
"I was thinking that. She's been so clingy lately also, it just worries me. How would she do therapy without me there?" I asked as my voice was laced with worry.
"There's an option where you and her could go in together. Like family therapy." Mom explained.
"That seems like a good plan." I looked at my phone. "Fuck! Alex and I have to get ready."
"We'll get going then." Mom kissed my forehead and I hugged everyone goodbye. I put a reminder in my notes to call the doctors. This is going to be one hell of a week.
