Chapter 12 - 12

DEMI'S POV

"Alex! Are you almost ready?!" I yelled up the stairs.

"Almost! Give me like an hour!" She yelled back downstairs obviously joking.

"Hurry up! Max is here already!"

"Maxipad?!" She came running down the stairs with Batman in her arms. She posed and tried acting like those annoying girls in movies with their dogs in one hand and purse in the other.

"Wait, is that my purse?!" I asked while laughing.

ALEX'S POV

"Wait, is that my purse?!" Mom asked as she laughed.

"Yep!" I took out her lip gloss and used it and giggled. "Take your dog back." I shoved Batman in her arms. "I'm sorry, Batman! I love you, I promise!"

"She's just lying, Batman." Mom jokingly whispered.

"Maxipad!" I jumped into his arms and didn't want to let go of him. "I'm tired." I whined and rested my head on his shoulders.

"Can I drop your daughter?" Max asked Mom while laughing.

"No, she's precious cargo." She joked back. Mom grabbed the suitcases and we made our way out to the tour bus. When we got in, Max dropped me on the bed in the back of the bus. He jumped next to me and started tickling me.

"No!" I laughed.

"Wait, is it tickle Alex hour?!" Mom exclaimed as she ran to the back near us and joined in.

"No! Please! I'm not five anymore!" I laughed and they stopped. I turned on the TV and Frozen was on. "Ooh, Frozen!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"Frozen?!" Max also exclaimed excitedly.

"I thought you weren't five anymore." Mom jokes.

"Yeah, but, you're never too old for Frozen.. and I'm still your baby girl." I smirked. "Could you be a doll and make me a salad?" I looked up at her and giggled.

"You need to eat more than a salad, baby." She looked concerned.

"Please.. I don't want to get fatter.. I wanna be pretty, Mom!"

"Alex." Mom spoke and I looked away. "Alex." She spoke again as she kneeled down in front of me. "Max, can you give us a moment?" Max nodded and left.

"Mom.. please.."

"Baby.. you are not fat. Your ribs are showing, it's not good. You need to gain weight. You might think you're fat, but you aren't. Looks don't matter. Everyone says looks matter, but they don't. Trust me, baby girl." She had tears in her eyes.

"I.. I need help, Mom.. I do.. but I can't.. it's too hard by myself.." I spoke quietly.

"Who says you would have to do it by yourself? I'm going to be here every step of the way. Even when things get tough. You also have Maddie, Grandma, Grandpa, Dallas, Marissa, Max, and heck, even Sirah and Matthew. I love you so much, baby girl." When she was done talking I quickly hugged her. She was about to let go but I held on tighter.

"It's going to be okay, baby." She whispered in my ear.

"I love you, Mom.." I whispered.

"I love you too, baby girl." We stayed hugging for a while. I love our hugs like that. It just makes me forget about every bad thing.
