Chapter 96 - Second Time Reversal

The main character felt disgust towards the ones that tried to flatter him. Their obvious motive of wanting to make use of him to build closer ties with the Nine Dragon Sect as well as get in the good books of the Sect leader, was looked down upon by him.

'You bastards shouldn't be flattering me because of my affiliation with the Nine Dragon Sect, but because I am the fucking Primal God!! Its sad what this world has come to... blinded by lesser powers, unable to see true, higher divinity... Not that those phonies can be compared to me...'

Although he was dissatisfied, he controlled his demeanour, managing to exclude his reserved, a bit arrogant, yet calm persona.

As the meeting continued, more and more information and strategies were brought up, all adding value to the strategic plan of attack that would ensue in the coming days. As for why the raid wasn't happening on that same day, it was due to the information the frightened trio had given them.

'Since their leader isn't at the head quarters, they plan on observing the hideout till he shows up... The only flaw in this is the fact that, till then, the perimeter block will stay up. Not only will that alert their leader, it will also cause the civil unrest that has been brewing to increase with each passing moment.

And since the city lord hasn't announced what has happened, it will be a pressing matter till it's resolved... of course, the news of what happened will be spread around with in one or two days regardless, given how some survivors had managed to survive the attack and get to safety...'

There were many loose ends but they still had to do with what was presented in front of them. After an hour, the meeting came to a close. The blue holograms abruptly disappeared leaving behind the main character, the city lord, and Lenny in the room.

"What a mess...", said Lenny, exasperated by the situations. It wasn't simply a mess though, it was a confusing mess. For what reason was this attack orchestrated? Was it to simply spread terror and fear? Was it a coup? Was it a warning? In simple terms, the motive behind the attacks were unknown as even the trio had confessed that they joined the group because of their desire for violence. But of course, the words of criminals weren't to be taken as truth, and so the fact still stood, no one knew the motives behind the group's actions.

"Nothing like this has happened in the history of Earthmire, its frightening..." Lenny added, holding up a dry smile, trying to make it seem like it didn't scare him that much. Nevertheless the city lord agreed with Lenny.

But instead of fear, he felt this unsettling, restless sensation in his every being. It was as though his body was reacting to all the horrors that had yet to appear. Snapping out of it, he slammed his hands against the wooden table, catching the attention of the two others in the room, as well as, causing small cracks to appear on it. Showing of both the table's sturdiness and the city lord's strength.

Gently but repeatedly, tapping the table with his five fingers simultaneously, the city lord said, "Bao Obi. I need you to go down with Lenny to our science department and record the necessary array into the grafting pad so it can be replicated and trialed.

Lenny, after testing the effectiveness of the scrolls, mass replicate them and send them out to your officers with the order that every crazed met here after are to be treated with this scroll. As for the ones that have already died, we shall inform their families one by one, giving them the compensation and closure they need... If only there was some way to bring them back..."

The city lord was especially torn over that last part considering how a lot of the innocent had died. Unbeknownst to him, the main character contemplated over what he had said, thinking,

'Is there not a way to bring them back?' Looking through all the relevant memories he had over this matter, he found two solutions to this problem. The first one was the reversal of time, where as, the second one was the exchanging of life.

What was the exchanging of life, you ask? Well, simply put, it was an array that required two people, not including the array master. When it was activated, the life force and vitality of one, would transfer over to the other. This was potent enough to treat incurable diseases, old age, and even death.

Unfortunately, it came at a hefty cost. For this array to work, one of the two people must willingly or unwillingly sacrifice their lives to provide the pure vitality and life force needed for the treatment of the other person.

The only question now was which option to choose from. Where one required death and sacrifice, the other merely required time. Time that would be supplied by the caster himself, taking away the exact amount as the duration he is attempting to reverse.

So looking at this array, one could deduce that it was safe for usage when the amount of time you are attempting to reverse is small. A few minutes, hours, and if you're daring and really want to push it, even days, are acceptable for the safe reversal of time. The real dangers begin when you attempt to get back further than the amount of time you have left.

For example, if the caster has only a week left but tries to reverse time by a whole month, then the caster would die immediately. Thankfully, the amount of time you have left isn't constant and can both decrease and increase.

Of course, this draw back didn't affect the main character due to the potent longevity provided by his Godly essence; not staying he would recklessly play with it or anything.

Although it took you a while to read the previous three chapters, it only took the man character a split second to surface all these info. And once he finished deliberating, the main character replied to the city lord saying, "I may have a solution for that..."

His words drew both Lenny's and the city lord's attention as they turned to face him with eyes shrouding expectancy ,as well as, scepticism. One that was fully expected...
