One of the best feeling for women in history is to have achieved equality and rights. Over the history, women fought to be recognized and to be considered members of a society where man are overvalued and more respect just because. Ladies proved over the years they could do the same thing a man do and slowly they conquer more rights and recognition. However, we all know this evolvement isn't followed by everyone or every culture.

Hello, my name is Harper Hill. I'm 17 years old and my life turned upside-down. My family is part of the US Mafia. But that never really bothered me. I lived a normal life. I would go out to drink and party, like a normal teenager. Everything was perfect, until the day my father told me I was going to a different school: a school only for girls.
"There you may learn how to dress, how to cook, walk, talk and laugh. And then, after your preparation, you'll marry someone worthy."
"Like hell I'm going!", I snap back at him. He must be kidding. He never said anything about this, he is lovely and kind, he would never do this to me.
"Harper, you are going to and that is final!"
"My ass I'm!", I barely finish my words when his hand meets my left cheek. "Are you crazy?", I say to him, but I guess he doesn't want me to talk and I receive another slap across my face.
In the first slap it took me a while to assimilate what had just happened but in the second one, I felt angry, but more ashamed. I shouldn't be feeling this way. I didn't do anything wrong after all. I couldn't bear this feeling. It was the worst thing ever. It was worst because it was my dad: the man I know, he was kind and lovely but now he is everything but. I feel dirty, ashamed and guilt. Of what? I don't know but I feel.
"You leave tomorrow", he says while fixing his leaves. "look, love....", he bends down and get a hold one my chin, "I let you have a normal live for 17 years, it was good, wasn't it?". His eyebrows are together, in a thoughtful way, with a pity face on.
"NO!!", I firmly say and, well, by his face expression, he didn't like my answer. His hands were too close to my neck and what I fear most happened: his hands were around my neck and the only thing I heard when darkness took over was he saying: "You are going to learn not to talk to someone superior like that"
What kind of world we live in? I thought things like this didn't even existed anymore, but I guess I was mistaken.
