Chapter 24 - -Opaque Purple Eyes-

Oliver stared at her. "You okay? Did he knock you up like Darby...?". "She's drunk!", Evie said, raising her voice, as she walked upstairs, carrying Amanita on her back. "Ah, I see. Hey-why are you with Blade, anyways? I'm not trying to pressure you since...since we lost our baby, but...", Oliver muttered.

"What the fuck is a baby? Oh! It's that thing I want little razor Blade here to give me! Anyways-because he's hot. And this isn't drunk me talking. This is Ms. Charlotte Everest, front and center. I'm just one of those hopeless romantics when I'm drunk. Just don't worry about me.", Charlotte snickered. Oliver grimaced at Blade.

"I'm going out.", he said then got his coat off of the hanger next to the door and left. "And I'm going to go throw up.". Blade face palmed.

Wednesday. 3 in the morning.

Flashback: "Whatever. Do you remember my mother? What was she ever like?", Clay questioned.

"I used to work for her an awful lot! She was one of the greatest ladies I've ever met. There was this one funny thing about her that set me off, though. At 3 in the morning she would brush her hair, mess it up, kiss the wall, then open the window. I wasn't very sure what she was doing.", Adira told Clay.

Present day:

Clay brushed his hair, messed up it, kissed the wall, then opened the window. He peered out of it and breathed in the fresh air. "I guess my mom just was delusional.", he muttered to himself. He stared outside as the leaves on the trees rustled. A man came out of the woods and stared into Clay's window. He started to approach the mansion and once he got to the door, he knocked on it.

Blonde hair, opaque bright purple eyes. Strange. Esma answered the door, rubbing her eyes. "It's three in the morning, I-...woah. Your eyes. They-they're so beautiful! How old are you?!", she gasped. The man smiled. "21.", he said with a slightly deep tone. "Ah! Me too! Your voice is just as mesmerizing as your eyes, tell me your secrets!".

The man grinned. He put his pointer and middle finger in the air next to him, kissed them, then placed them on Esma's lips. She blushed as she nervously moaned.

"Esma! Get away from that man. This is an order.", Clay demanded from the top of the staircase. She started to stammer. Clay made it down to the man. "Esma. Now. This is for me. Go to the living room or something. Just somewhere where you can't hear what we're saying. Like the ballroom! I hear it's quite unicorns, rainbows, and LSD in there at night.". She groaned then went to the ballroom.

"Adelaide Adams. Does that ring a bell? Of course it does. Her ritual is what summoned you. That's why you were watching me through the tress in the forest. I do say, you're quite the night owl. Who are you to my mother?", Clay asked.

"Alexander Lanes. I was your mothers personal caller.", the man said. "And what's that supposed to mean-",

"She would make me come over when she needed help, when she was sad or not feeling well, or when Leo Adams was yelling at her.". "You do not dare interrupt me, you dolt! And...Leo Adams? My father?", he paused. Alexander nodded.

"And how exactly do you get...'summoned'?". "She used to live here. I'm guessing you did the ritual in her old room, if I'm correct. She had touch censored walls that activate every they felt lips. It's an invention hand created specially for the queen. Of course Leo never knew that her husband was talking to another man. If he did, he would be rolling in his grave. But I was always just a friend to her. And she was a friend to me. We never kissed, or did anything like that. I promise, young sir.".

"That's imposturous about the walls but exhilarating. Where do you live? In the woods? You must live alone if you come here every time my mother used to kiss the wall. You're welcome to stay here temporarily. I have too many rooms. You're just a guest for now. And don't turn this down, because you're lucky I'm being generous.", Clay offered.

Alexander put his pointer and middle finger in the air next to him, kissed them, then placed them on Clay's cheek. "It'd be an honor.".

Esma came out of the ballroom. She walked up to Alexander as Clay went upstairs. "Alexander Lanes. And you?". "Esma Evans. It is so...so exciting to meet you. Especially because of your eyes. I can't stop looking into them. They're like the Northern Lights. Ah...they're so satisfying!", Esma complimented as she gawked; staring into the two crystal balls cradling on his face.

"The-they're so wonderful! How did you get them? Your genes must be exquisite!", Esma exclaimed. "My mother, ironically named, Amber Lanes.", Alexander answered.

Adira sleepily walked into the hallway and seen the two talking at the doorway. "Alexander?", she paused then ran downstairs. She hugged him. He grunted.

"I missed you.", she whispered. "You know him?!", Esma shouted in shock. "He's my ex-boyfriend.". Alexander didn't hug back, he rather just stood there with a blank expression, staring at the dark upstairs hallway of the mansion.

Esma blinked excessively at Adira. "You dated this man?". "Mhm.", she muttered into his chest. She let go of him and smiled. "Welcome back.". Adira went back upstairs.

"I didn't know you knew Adira. That's cool. But don't get with her! I-I mean, that she has two guys that want her right now and they'd kill anyone who dare to stand in their way of getting with her. They are both so competitive. One made out with her in front of the other! She informed me of this!".

"Hm. And who said I still feel for her?". Esma looked at her feet then back into his eyes. Darby came downstairs, still in his butler uniform. "Esma. Let's get back upstairs, ok?", Darby said. Esma hesitated then started to walk with him upstairs.

Alexander walked out into the backyard. He felt something hit his shoulder. He looked at the ground and there was a shattered bottle of beer at the bottom of his feet. Something trickled out of the side of his head. Blood. Alexander turned around and stared at the roof of the house, where the bottle had came from.

Charlotte came down and crawled to the edge. Alexander walked closer to her. "Your eyes.", she sighed, still on her hands and knees. She brushed her index finger from the spot on his head that was bleeding to his chin then licked the blood off of her finger. "Oh. Oh yeah. Fuck. You're bleeding. Let me help-",

"I'm fine.", Alexander claimed as he grabbed her hand, mid air, as she was going to examine the wound. "B-but it's gushing blood! And besides! I'm not drunk...or at least not anymore. I'm sorry for the bottle. The maids will clean it, don't worry. I've just been up here crying for hours while drinking. I don't even think I can cry, anymore. I'm going off topic, come inside we'll treat your wound-",

"I said I'm fine, lady. I don't need your help. I'll just sit up there with you, if that's okay.". Charlotte nodded and they sat on the roof together.
