Chapter 26 - -Relatives-

Thursday. Adira perked her head up to look at the clock that sat on the kitchen wall. 10:00 AM She walked over to the door and stood there, waiting. 30 minutes passed by. Nothing. Jasper walked up to her. "I know you probably don't want to talk to me right now but I'm sorry for trying to kiss you. I really thought that you would fall for me but I was just stupid. Please forgive me? An answer would be better than silence, you know? I know, I admit it. I was an insufferable dick who thought he could get whatever he wanted. Go ahead. I give you permission to say it-",

"I don't care, I'm still hung up on Axel...then of course there's you. But I have other things to worry about. My family was supposed to come 30 minutes ago but it seems like they've forgotten all about me. I'm worth nothing if they forgot about me that quickly. I haven't seen them in years. Today was supposed to be a somewhat special day. I guess not.", Adira muttered.

"That really sucks. In the meantime do you want to just go talk it out in the kitchen?", Jasper offered, holding out his hand to help her get off the floor. She exhaled then grabbed his hand. They both walked into the kitchen and sat on the counter. "I don't want to break shit up or anything but-",

"Oh no, be my guest. I don't even want to try to think about my family so go ahead.", Adira barged in. "Ok so...me or Axel?", Jasper mumbled. She paused. "I have experienced major things with the both of you. Jasper...you treat me right, and I've had the most fun with you. But...Axel and I kind of experienced something I had never felt before. I guess my first was just a curse. He used me. But he made me feel ever so special. I loved him at a time. But now I realize who I want more.".

Jasper slightly smirked. "Then who is it?", he asked. There was a knock at the door. Adira hopped off of the counter and ran to the front door. She opened it. A man, a woman, and a little girl with poor clothing stood in the doorway. Adira's eyes filled up with tears. "Your hair! Honey, what did you do to it? It's all pink!", her mother panicked. Adira shortly laughed as she wiped away her tears.

"You guys are really here. Right now. At this moment. I haven't seen you in forever. I-...". Her parents gave her a hug. "This is your little sister, Riley. You haven't met her yet. Why don't you two go upstairs and talk for a bit, me and your dad want to have a word with the scumbag of this mansion.", her mother said. "Why would you call the king tha-",

"Don't ask.".

Clay's room:

Adira's parents slammed open the door. "Hi, I'm Tina and this is my husband Neal and we would like to confront you about the amount of disrespect we're getting. Our daughter is getting the life of luxury, wearing fancy clothes and eating 3 course meals every day, when we, the citizens, get treated like shit!", Tina shouted at Clay.

"Don't make Adira disappointed. She was really looking forward to seeing you both today. The only place she'll be able to see you if you dare speak to me like that again is pictures.", Clay said then got out his gun.

"You can't do anything! You'll be charged for murder you goddamn cretin!", Neal stated. "I'm the king. I make the rules.". Tina ran up to him and tried to take his gun away. "I don't think you want to do that. I don't care if you're seeing your daughter. Get off of my property. Now.", he demanded.

They left Clay's room and slammed open Adira's. "Come on, Riley. Let's go. We're getting kicked out because the king is full of shit.", Neal claimed. Adira stood up from her bed. "Wait-what?!". Adira chased them downstairs to the door. "Wait! Wait please stay! Don't leave, I-please!", she begged. Once again, they slammed the door. This time, the front door.

She fell on her knees and started to cry at the doorway. Jasper came out of the kitchen and kneeled down to her. "What do you want? No one cares about me anymore. No one! And you can't tell me otherwise.", Adira sobbed.

Jasper picked Adira up, like a baby. She gasped. He took her up to her room and put her on her bed. "Take a nap, it will help. Trust me. You need it.", he whispered in her ear. "W-will you lay with me? Just until I go to sleep?". Jasper smiled. "Sure.".

Clay's room:

Alexander trailed his fingers across the wall. "Smooth. Just the way I remember it.", he muttered. "So you just came in here to finger my walls?", Clay scoffed. Alexander smirked. "That isn't very appropriate for such a young sir like you, now is it?". Clay rolled his eyes as Alexander continued to feel around the walls.

"What are you looking for anyways?", he asked. "Marisol.", Alexander answered. "Who is Marisol?". "Not who, sir. What.". "Ok, smart ass. Then what. And don't detest my language this time, I control you.", Clay said. Alexander turned around and gave him a grimacing grin. "Are you sure?", he remarked then pressed a button that blended into the wall. An iron cage fell on Clay. He groaned, getting louder and louder.

Alexander chuckled. "Let me out of here! Now! This is a command!", he demanded as he rattled the bars to the cage. "Fine.", Alexander sighed then pushed the button again. "Ugh. Whatever.", Clay fussed. "I'm going to Cotton Forest tomorrow. I need Adelaide. Charlotte Everest complained to me earlier about how Oliver is picking up her calls, but he just isn't coming back to the mansion. She told me he was in an office building or some shit in Cotton Forest. I don't know, don't ask.", Alexander claimed. "Adelaide. Adelaide Adams. My mother...".
