Chapter 27 - -Oliver-

Friday. The day has come for Alexander Lanes to go to Cotton Forest. He stood in Clay's room in front of his desk. Adelaide entered the room, looking at the floor, with a plain white dress that just reached her knees and a long gray cloak, that went to her ankles. She lifted up her hood and gasped. She ran up to Alexander and hugged him. He grunted. "I've missed you so, so much.", Adelaide whispered to him.

He smiled and hugged her back. Adelaide glanced at Clay then walked up to him. "I-I'm so sorry. And I know words won't be enough for you to accept. But at least try to come to terms with me. I am your mother after all.".

He made a stuffed bird face at her. "I'm not very accepting. But I guess I'll try. Key word try.", Clay said. Adelaide smiled. "I have brown contacts to cover my eyes in public because I don't want people running up to me and causing everyone to draw attention to me. I'm kind of famous.", Alexander said.

Later that day:

Adelaide and Alexander walked up to the receptionist desk to a lady with curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a couple wrinkles. She looks like an elementary school teacher.

"Hello, I'm Delphine, welcome to White's, what may I assist you with today?". "Is there an Oliver Triton here?", Alexander asked. "I'm sorry but I cannot disclose that information unless you have a meeting set up with the queen.", Delphine said.

"Well can I set one up, then?". She started typing rapidly on the computer. "Uhm, sorry honey, but her schedule is busy. You can only enter if you're of high importance, such as a king, queen, prince, princess, assistant to any of those, and etc.", Delphine said.

"I am of high importance. I'm Alexander Lanes!". "He has purple eyes. I still do believe those are lenses or some type of witchcraft...", she muttered. Alexander forgot he put in contact lenses. "But your costume is amaz-",

"This isn't a costume.". "Sure.", Delphine scoffed. "You can ask the queen of Twisted Hollows!", Alexander said. "The queen is dead! Are you stuck in the wrong time period or something? Yeesh...", she mumbled. "No! She's right here!".

Adelaide lifted up her hood and smiled at Delphine. She fainted. Alexander and Adelaide just stood there. She shrugged then walked towards Reese White's door and knocked on it. Reese answered and gasped. "Adelaide Adams?! Is that really you?! I do not believe my eyes! Charles, is she real? Tell me she's not a woman pretending to be her, tell me!", Reese panicked. Adelaide politely smiled at her.

"Yes, I am real. Delphine at the desk passed out because she seen me! I faked my death. I know. Call me horrible, or whatever. I needed a break from all of the royalty and now...it's my deepest regret. I'm sure you understand, Reese.", Adelaide said. "Well come in! We have so much to catch up on!".

Meanwhile:

Blade and Charlotte drove off. "Why did you want me to help you find Oliver?", Blade asked. "Well, I don't know if this going to make me sound crazy, but, I trust you.". "That's the first time in my life someone has ever said those words to me.". Charlotte giggled then put her hand on his shoulder.

"Blade?". "Yes?". "How do you tell if you're in love with someone?", she asked. "Well...you feel a certain way for them and enjoy their company. I assume you're asking me this because you don't know if you love Oliver?". "No, no, no, I-I do! It's just that...I think I feel that way about someone else...", Charlotte muttered.

"Oh, Alexander, right? Look I totally understand, your secret is safe with me!". Charlotte paused. "Pull over.". "What?". "I said pull over!", she demanded. "Are you mad at me for the Alexander thing-",

"No! I'm just not understanding how you don't get it...", she mumbled. "Get what-",

"See! You don't understand! I thought I made myself so clear a-and so obvious!", Charlotte whined. "Charlie, obvious about what?!", Blade shouted. "Obvious that you know it's you that I'm starting to fall for.". The whole car went silent. There was about a 5 second pause until Blade pulled the collar to her shirt and started to make out with her.

"Wait....wait, no. Charlotte...Charlotte please stop.", he whispered. "Is something wrong? Did I do something?", she panicked. "No, no it's just that...I think you just forgot that you have a fiancé and a kid. And you need to realize that. You can't just go around doing whatever you'd like, you're still a mother and a partner.", he lectured.

"What they don't know won't hurt them.", she whispered then tried to kiss him. "No, Charlotte, seriously, stop! You know how powerful I am and I don't want to hurt you. Please.", he begged. Charlotte put her hands on his hands and said, "Come on, you only live once. It's not like anyone will find out. And plus, Oliver is most likely already found. So what are we doing here: screwing around, or screwing around with our time? Come on, you're an assassin, you should know.", Charlotte whispered again.

"Charlie! I'm being serious!", he shouted. She paused then whispered in his ear, "And so am I.". He got out of the car and opened her door. "Are you kicking me out?!". Blade opened the back door and pushed her on the seats. He got on top of her. "Are you going to kill me, I feel like you're going to kill me, I-",

He put his index finger on her lips. "If I was going to kill you, I would have done that days ago, mi amour. But isn't this what you wanted? The only thing is we're back here and have more room.".

White's:

Oliver, Alexander, and Adelaide walked out of the building. "Why were you there in the first place?", Adelaide asked. "I went there to go get Charlotte a gift and to speak with Reese for a loan. I didn't want to speak to Clay because I didn't want him to tell anyone else and of course, I wouldn't ask Cordelia. And it turns out, Charles White is a nice chill guy...", Oliver stated.

"Ok, valid excuse. We won't tell anyone, you can trust us. If we do, which we won't, you can stop talking to us completely and we will understand as we broke an oath. Now let's get back to the mansion.", Adelaide said.
