Chapter 1 - Prologue

Kring-kring! Kring-kring! Kring-kring!

My eyes were hardly opened when I fumbled for my phone to put it off. Finally, some extra minutes to sleep... Kring-kring! Kring-kring!

Hmm? Why hadn't it didn't stop?

Again, my left hand reached my phone.

Grggh! The alarm continued ringing over my ears. I took my pillow and covered my ears with it. But, it left me gasping for air instead. That annoying sound kept jolting me awake. I almost threw my phone away, but it suddenly crossed my mind—if my screen phone crashed, I had to take to the repairer, and it costed me money. So, I threw my pillow instead.

I peeked at my phone screen. It was five A.M. in the morning, too early! And it's Saturday!

Plus, I had no duty calls for work.

So I didn't have a reason set for alarm. Did I?

Kring-kring!

I forced my brain to hold steady for a moment, getting all my nerves connected. Lifted my arms over the head for some stretching...

Ah! Yes. It was my doorbell ringing. I had just changed it to a new one, I was probably not accustomed to the sound yet—or I probably should change my alarm sound. I quickly darted over to my front door and looked through the peeping hole. Wondering who was the devil for ruining my morning.

If it was the landlady, then she must have picked a very auspicious time.

My drowsy eyes were forced to widen, and—Mother! A hotsy-totsy man was at my front door!

I turned away, blinked my eyes twice, and peered again. My eyes weren't failing me. There was really a hotsy-totsy out there! The guy had a geometric face, strong cheekbones, and sexy red-pale lips. Even from a peeping hole, he was already this attractive. I quickly fixed my hair, brushing them using my fingers, then rubbed off any drooling stains on my mouth area. Oh, I need to smell my breath. Ah... Maybe a moment.

When I was done, I put on my best smile and opened the door. It was if there was a shining filter activated around him. I practically dodged it with my hand before I could finally meet his dark eyes. I found them a distinct contrast to his pale skin.

"Yuhua?" There was a clear sign of surprise in his throaty deep voice. I flushed at his tone. Okay, I couldn't help fangirling over him.

"Hello. But it's Huayu, not Yuhua." I wondered how my name would sound with his voice. I cleared my throat, anyway I should sound nice and sweet on the first impression, right?

"You're the new neighbor? Nice to meet you. You must be moving to this hour. It must've been a long day. So, is there anything you need, neighbor?"

Surely, if it was this early, there must have been an exceptionally good reason to bother a neighbor's beauty sleep. But for a hot guy, anything would do.

"Yes, you."

"Yes, I'm here to help, dear neighbor."

"No," he said like a gut reaction, then paused a moment. "It's you that I need."

"Then, we have all morning. So, what can I do?"

Yes, yes. Just take your time neighbor, we had all the time we needed. Uh, not to mention, those obvious muscles. Definitely, we have plenty of time in the world for me to appreciate such wonderful artwork.

His dark eyes again fixed at mine, looking all perplexed. "Wife, don't you remember me?"

"I'm sorry, what?" My ears must have been playing tricks on me.

Wife? Now, this must have been a scam. Otherwise... Hell, this was no telenovela.

His face seemed to darken for a moment before he answered me. "I'm your husband; I came from the Sky Realm for you."

Sky Realm? Was he some kind of actor? But his complexion seemed way too serious for all of this to be an act. Let me filter this out: a handsomely attractive guy one morning suddenly poof—appear at my front door. His pair of black glimmered red eyes locked on mine intensely as if it were burning. The tuxedo he was wearing couldn't hide his totally muscled body. A perfectly trimmed, lean frame, black hair on top of that! God, I always had a thing for professional-looking guys.

Could anyone believe such a man appeared and claimed to be your husband? A hotsy-totsy?

And again, this was definitely, positively, absolutely too good to be true. This was probably a scam.

"Wow." I could feel my cheeks flame red, but I held on my ground. "Okay, let me get things straight. You're saying you fell from the Sky Realm—THE place where Gods live? Then you descended on my front yard, and now we're husband and wife? I think I got a pretty hard bump on my head."

He nodded. A prideful grin showing off his perfect teeth. "Actually, we had a son."

A... What?!

To my surprise, a little boy from the guy's back reached over me and drew me into a hug. "Mama!"

I scanned the little boy from head to toe. It was exactly the copy of the guy in front of me, just a mini version. And I am the little boy's mother? Like really? With tiny bits of juices on my brain, I was still sane enough to say that throughout my 21-year-old life, I had never been pregnant before!

I shrugged the little boy's hand, giving out my most earnest smile—still though, it must have been awkward. My head tilted, examined once again his fine-boned almost perfect. Too bad such a handsome man turned out to be a lunatic, my heart exclaimed in tears. I sighed, muttered to myself, "Is this the end of the world already?"

Okay, handsome or not, this guy had to be out of my house. It was time to make my strategic move.

"Mister and little one, um... I think you've got the wrong person. If you are doing any recording for pulling a prank's show, then I apologized; I cannot consent. Good..."

—bye?

He grinned his playful mesmerizing smile. He seemed to enjoy my confused stare at him. Those long, pale fingers of his snapped, and the door suddenly closed.

It was just about a blink of seconds, and I was floating through the air, carried on by unrealistic magic by the tips of his hand. I suddenly felt like a fish out of water.

"You—! Put me down! Whatever tricks you're playing, this is not funny!"

He appeared remarkably calm. Of course, he was the one who pulled this trick.

And with a wave from his hand, I fell in the midst of the air. I closed my eyes hard, heard myself screaming as if I was in a roller-coaster ride, that ear-breaking, high-pitched kind of scream.

Eh? Did it stop?

I peeked on my right eye and saw his smile widened as I finally realized I was in his arms. Plus, both of my hands wrapped around him.

He smiled across his face, oddly it felt cunning. "Wife, there's no point in locking the door for me. Not in the Sky Realm nor the Human World, you still haven't learned your lesson? Seems like I need to personally teach you."

"Who are you calling your wife?!"

"You are," he paused, as if in deliberation. "Wife."

Speechless, utterly speechless. The so-claimed my husband was inhuman at all.
