''It's okay." I whisper.

I think back to the conversation Hunter and I had a little over a week ago in NYU's student parking lot, since then everything's been pretty normal.
I was either with Callie or studying alone and Hunter was constantly surrounded by his posse of girls, giggling and fluttering their fake lashes at him.
We haven't really spoken since then; granted I may have been slightly avoiding him.
"Cupcake."
I glance up from my notes surprised to see Hunter, he was standing above me on the other side of the table grinning like an idiot.
"Finally." He grunts sliding into a plush library chair adjacent to my own. "I've found ya!" I wasn't aware that he'd been looking for me.
I give him a blank look waiting for him to elaborate.
When he remains silent I quirk a dark dirty blonde eyebrow, "what'd ya want?" I question.
"Well, well. That's no way to greet your new best friend, Cupcake." Hunter winks.
I mock gag, to hide my forming grin, "you wish, Muffin." I throw back at him.
He mutters something under his breath, then returns his attention back to me saying, "you look hungry."
I stare at him confused, considering that statement had literally come from nowhere.
"Let's get something to eat." He says grabbing my notebooks and stacking them in a neat pile and lifting them away from me. "I'm not Hungary, i just ate-" I start, but I'm interrupted by a loud gurgling noise coming from my rumbling stomach, i blush bright red as he raises an eyebrow at me, "really?" He questions. "Cause it didn't sound like it." He looks like he's barely suppressing laughter.
I roll my eyes forcefully making myself slightly dizzy, "really, I'm fine." I try.
"What are you so scared of?" He taunts challengingly, sending a wink my way.
I glare at him for a few moments, before rising to the bait. "I'm not scared!" I huff, "I just have better things to do than to waste my time with you." He doesn't at all look taken aback by my rude outburst.
"See," he answers knowingly, "your cranky. You know that the number one cause of crankiness is hunger." He grins.
I burst out laughing, no longer being able to hold it in, I suppose he did have a point.
Groaning, I mutter, "fine." I push my chair away from the table, and walk around to snatch my books back from Hunter.

"What the fuck is that thing?!" I shout, watching him mount a giant, shiny demonic looking bike. He smirks back at me while sliding his arms through the sleeves of his riding leathers, my lower jaw was hanging down to my knees, "yeah, nah." I finally spit out, since I was at a public library just a couple of blocks from my apartment I hadn't thought to drive.
"I have a rule," I say pacing the length of his bike. "About transportation with less than four wheels. I don't get on them!" My voice was beginning to sound hysterical.
"come on! You'll be fine, stop being a baby." Hunter cooed.
I promptly shot around to glare at him, which only resulted in his egotistical lips to let out a chuckle.
After a lot of internal cussing and a mental prep talk, I gather my long dark hair and twist it carefully into a tight bun.
"Helmet." I grumble, thrusting my hand out expectedly at him.
He raises his eyebrow, before shaking his head his smirk slipping. "Sorry. I didn't bring one."
I gasp my eyes widen in surprise and fear, which he seems to notice, he moves closer to tell me.
"Don't worry, Cupcake. I won't let anything happen to you." He whispers gently in my ear, I pull back a little satisfied when i see a serious expression on his face.
I nod once.
