Arcin looked at the boss's door as she felt that was the main place that the energy of the dungeon had changed. Holding her staff she raced over to the door with Saisako in tow. The moment she touched the door she was sure this was the location of the odd energy change and the seismic activity.
They needed to go in Arcin looked at Saisako and realized she was ready to enter. With a deep breath, Arcin pushed open the door and the two went inside. The moment they entered the door slammed behind them.
The room was dark for a moment before touched around the room flickered to life one after another till the room was lit up. The room was not like a cave rather it was like an ancient underground temple. In the centre of the room, there was a large mass. The mass began to move and slither along the ground till eventually facing the duo.
[Earth Hydra Lv. 25 HP 256, 457/256, 457]
"T-this isn't right. This isn't anything like the notes at all." Arcin muttered in surprise. "The room changed and so did the boss. The boss was supposed to be the [Great Two-Headed Earth-Snake Lv. 15]. The boss is 10 levels higher. Something is really wrong."
Arcin bit her lip looking at Saisako. Level wise Saisako completely out-matched. "Do you think you'd be able to handle this alone?"
Saisako didn't reply for a moment thinking it over before letting out a noise that was a clear no to Arcin. Though she was a little lazy Saisako was a little more serious when it came to a fight since it often meant life or death if she couldn't avoid it. With the level disadvantage and multiple heads, not even mentioning the boss monster's status boost Saisako didn't feel confident to take it on alone.
Watching this and taking into account everything that she had seen so far Arcin was certain Saisako was intelligent. Saisako didn't act like other beast or monsters that she had come across she didn't even act that much like an animal either. It made Arcin curious just what Animus truly sent her to be her partner. Since according to said god this partner was to be capable of helping her, in what way Arcin wasn't too sure. In the end, all Arcin could do was wait and see.
"Thought so. I'll help you out with them. Be sure to rack up the damage so you can get a lot of exp I may still have trouble casting other magic elements like you can but I have a feeling that even without using magic the two of us together should be okay. "Arcin replied as she held her staff in both hands ready to fight as a blade formed on one end of the staff making it into a glaive.
She pointed it at the Hydra tanning it to initiate the fight and gain aggro. The hydra hissed at arcin before it lunged at her. Arcin jumped up avoiding one of its many mouths that came at her trying to snap down on her. Arcin jumped off its one head to avoid the other two heads that came at her. With a total of 3 heads, it was a little hard to avoid each head but Arcin made it work. As Arcin distracted the hydra she did it just enough so that the Hydra no longer paid attention to Saisako which gave her the chance to move. Saisako was taking up a rearguard position, unlike her previous vanguard positions she was in during most of the dungeon with the hard distracted made it possible for her to change positions to get into a better spot for her to fight against the hydra.
Arcin landed on the hydra's back before swinging around the glaive slashing its back sending blood and scales flying. The hydra moved violently throwing Arcin off its back she rolled along the ground slamming into the pillar. It hurt but Arcin didn't let that bother her rather she got back into the fight getting back to her feet right away. She diverted the hydra's head away from her and spun the staff around in her hand to then slash its one eye causing the hydra to hiss and blood to fly.
Saisako jumped in and sent a black of water that slashed it across its chest and causing more damage to it however not a very large amount really about equal to the damage that Arcin had caused. It was about to turn to Saisako to attack her but Arcin stabbed it in its side to bring the things agro back to her. Its three heads hissed at her but she didn't care.
The hydra's head snapped at her in which Arcin dodge the second head tried to hit her so she jumps, and the third head followed with an attack as well. Arcin blocked with the staff of her weapon the force of the attack sent her flying back but she positioned herself so she didn't slam into the wall she jumped off the wall flying over the hydra as she slashed her glaive across the back of their necks as she landed on the other side.
The second head of the hydra (the one that had a slashed eye) lunged its open jaw forward in order to swallow her whole as she was landing on the ground. Arcin was fast and turned her staff sideways holding the jaw open above her. Since the head was positioned in such a way that the other heads couldn't attempt to attack her without injuring or just destroying the other head giving her a chance to escape. To them, the staff holding the jaw up wouldn't last forever so they decided to look for the second attacker while the main one was distracted.
"Saisako a little help please." Arcin grunted as she tried to force the head back as saliva from the hydra's mouth dripped down on hitting her face. Arcin found the warm breath of the hydra extremely uncomfortable especially with her skin getting covered with the things saliva. That was when Saisako raced out and into the mouth with Arcin.
Saisako pointed her tail up and an orb of blue light shot out from it going down its throat. Saisako raced out from its mouth jumping and dodging the other two heads as she went back into hiding in the dark and crevices of the room. It was then that the orb or blue-like expanded to the point that the hydra's neck begun to expand. The orb then quickly imploded before it exploded outwards the blast sent Arcin flying back injured with the glaive in her hand as she slammed into a wall. The hydra head on the other hand exploded with hunks of blood and flesh flying everywhere.
Arcin who was cover in a mixture of hydra and her own blood planed the end of the glaive on the ground and forced herself to her feet. She looked up and saw the two head look and the slumped over and exploded neck of the second head. For some reason, the other two heads didn't look phased in the slightest. As Arcin looked over the hydra's body she noticed that many wounds they had caused were healing already. The Hydra had a reiteration ability before something told her that wasn't the only reason that the Hydra was calm.
