Chapter 22 - Tendrils

As they rested in the mini-boss room on the second floor Arcin couldn't help but look at the stairs. Something didn't feel right to her it made her feel extremely on edge, which made her even more concerned as she wasn't easily startled. She began to tap the staff on the ground out of anxiousness. 'What the hell is this energy I feel. It makes my skill crawl that I can't relax. I have a bad feeling about this.' She thought as she gripped her staff tighter. She stood up glancing over at Saisako. "Let's get a move on, but remain cautious as we descend something isn't right." Arcin stated, Saisako looked at Arcin in confusion and that was when she realized Saisako couldn't sense what she could.

Saisako jumped onto Arcin's shoulder then the two made there way over to the stairs. Arcin looked at the Archway of the stairs for a moment looking for any traps or the lake that might even slightly explain the feeling she was getting. But there was nothing there that could even remotely explain it. 'This is a low-level dungeon so of course there's nothing like what I'm thinking. But there was no talk about such a chilling slimy energy coming from the third-floor. It can't be that I'm the only person that can sense it right?… Even if that is the answer I didn't sense it on the other floors so far, so what is the reason for sensing it now?' Arcin thought as she looked at the stairs once more before descending.

The stairway is fairly dark because they just handed the pass is only lit up by the close of the crystals and breaded in the walls. The only sound was out of Arcin's footsteps against the stone stairs. Her stuff hit against the steps with the tech every odd step the further they want the stronger and more potent the feeling was.

It was the longest sent downward which allowed a long time for a person to think. Arcin couldn't help but let her mind drift to what happened in the Home world not that long ago. The things that lead her to this point and where she is which is that another world.

'I was betrayed there is no question about it. Not only by my ex but the inner circle as well. The only people that we're aware of my departure aside from the driver in my head that would be by proxy the inner circle as well. Somewhere there was a leak in the `information. The likely People that it would be linked to it as my stepmother my exes family or an enemy clan.' Arcin clicked tongue. 'Looks like I've been a little too soft chairs. I'll teach them a lesson for what they've done not following me as the rightful Lynch clan head.' Arcin growled tightening her grip on her staff. She desired we're friends now for everything and nothing was going to get in her way. 'Gaining strength has my enemies think I'm dead scared… But I wish there was a way to let my team know I'm alive and have them investigate the inner circle.' She sighed.

Arcin Had a lot on her mind as the sting of betrayal was fresh and painful. She couldn't help but question if placing your trust in her team was the right decision. She wishes she could do this alone. She was well aware of the dark side of humanity but it angered her how long she had been strung along with the more she thought about it the more upset she got. She started walking for a moment as her hands started shaking and her breathing became rough.

"Argh! God fucking dammit! What did I do to deserve this damn hell!" Arcin screamed out as she punches the wall next to her creating cracks in the wall. " why am I always left alone." Arcin muttered As tears begin to form in her eyes.

She was feeling oddly emotional so much so that it was too hard not to notice for herself. 'What the hell is wrong with me? I am angry and frustrated with what's happened but I don't have to act like this what is going on why am I not in control of my emotions anymore somethings... somethings wrong.' She realizes tears began to fall from her eyes.

Arcin clenched her fist. 'Something's... Yeah I'm sure of it. Something is hiding my emotions it's brought out and tighten my suppressed… Specifically my negative suppressed emotions. But why?' Arcin thought. She looked down and noticed a trend rolls wrapped around and I'm better than her legs. She saw that she could begin to feel them move around inside her. The tendrils were inside her and they were doing something to her that she couldn't explain and understand at the moment.

Shook ran through her at the site with the tendrils on her legs and the feeling that she was having. The staff changed and they were so played at the end she didn't slash the tendrils that were around her legs coming from the ground. The moment she cut the tenders from her legs a chilling roar in her head. The tendrils from the ground retreated but the ends that were buried in her legs were still there and moving.

Arcin let go of her staff in an attempt to try and pull the tendrils out of her legs however the moment she did she felt an even stronger wave of emotions hit her. Though the other negative emotions Felt were still there it began to release other emotions even stronger than the Negative ones. Emotions like pleasure joy excitement all of those she was hit with at once made her unable to move.

Her mind began to be muddled and it got hard to even think straight as she was so overwhelmed with emotions and feelings. Her legs began to feel weak and it became hard for her to even stand. Arcin was frozen in place as she fell to the ground biting her lip. She was completely frozen in place as the tendrils buried in her legs began to mess around with her insides and her mind. What seemed like an hour pass by as Arcin remained in one place unable to move or even think for herself properly.

Arcin's eyes had begun to turn blank and lifeless as if she was a doll with each passing moment. At some point, she slumped over like a marionette whose sings were cut. Saisako I had to wake her up but nothing worked. After an hour Arcin shut up but her eyes were completely blank and empty there was nothing behind them. She was going to try to get up but it was as if nothing worked or as if she was like a puppet. Arcin was completely sealed away, her mind was completely under the control of another she, no idea on how to escape. She was unaware of what was happening completely at the mercy of her controller.
