Chapter 27 - Another Pain!

Lovingly, Celine touched Nayla's shoulder. "Nay, thank you. At least my heart was at little bit peace. I don't understand, I don't know what to do if I just stay still and endure the feeling of tightness. Surely my life will not be able to breathe freely," added Celine.

"Don't hesitate. You also did the same thing when I was betrayed by Zico," added Nayla

"He he ... And look, now you look fine. Seeing your condition like this, no one will suspect that you have ever received a million terrible betrayals. I hope someday I can rise like you." Celine smiled sweetly, but still it didn't cover her fragile heart.

"Don't be stupid! Our two cases are different. I was betrayed by Zico consciously, he was planning to give the wound to me with good sense. So I can freely curse him in my heart. Really hate him, so I can easily forget about it. Meanwhile you and Darren, that's a unique case. You love each other. It's just that the situation is a little distorted. Tell me, how could you possibly hate Darren for this. In this case, he was as hurt as you were. "

Celine stared at elsewhere in a daze. "That's what I thought. I want to hate, curse, kill him maybe, but that's impossible! He was hurt in this too. What should I call Darren in this story?" Celine clicked.

"That's it. So don't confuse Darren from time to time with a rotten, bastard like Zico." There was clear hatred from every word Nayla said. Of course it came from the heart.

'If it were that easy with Darren, how wonderful it would be. All I have to do is hate him, curse him to my hearts content, and forget about it all. Although it might not be easy to come back to accept a new male figure, not because of trauma, it's just that you are too eager to be more careful in the future so you can guard your heart from the destruction that might occur,' muttered Celine.

"Hemphh ... all right. We better get back to work now. There is a job deadline today," said Celine.

"Here… I'll put some powder on for you. So that your swollen face doesn't scare others. So ugly!" Nayla laughed.

The two women went back to work at their respective desks, until they were dissolved in it.

Didn't even realized that the break time arrived. When going to the office canteen, at the reception desk Celine was intercepted by another colleague.

 "Celine…" she called.

It managed to stop Celine's steps and turned to the source of the sound.

"Hu'um… what's wrong?" asked Celine kindly.

"This ... Just now a tall, handsome man came to deliver food for you," said Cilla, the receptionist.

"For me? Did you get the wrong person?" Celine asked to made sure. Because this happened very rarely. Or never even.

"Your name is clearly written here. To Celine, the general manager's secretary. You're the one," replied the receptionist.

"Eh ... Yeah. Right. But from whom?" Celine looked a little confused, it could be seen from her frown.

"I don't know. Maybe your boyfriend. By the way, he's very handsome, but his face looks very familiar. It seems familiar."

 Deg!

Celine's mind immediately went to Darren.

'Is that him? But how could that be? Why does he have to send food to me?'

"Chilla, I'll take the food. Thank you."

Hurriedly Celine left the reception area. She didn't want the conversation to get late and farther away. Afraid if her guess was wrong.

"Celine ... What's wrong? Why do you look so rushed like that?" asked Nayla.

From afar when she saw Celine with steps that were like being chased by the masses, Nayla's curiosity flared up, and immediately chased Celine with a pace that was no less rapid.

 "Eh, Nay?"

Again Celine put on a dazed face.

"What's the matter, I asked a question! Just answer what really happened, what's so hard? Why do you have to be in a daze like that? Like someone who is caught stealing!" Nayla sneered.

Just as Celine was about to answer, her cell phone vibrated again.

"Darren again," said Nayla when she saw the name on the rectangular screen.

She didn't see it on purpose, just the angle of the cell phone, give away the details of the caller, from the way it was held by Celine.

"Pick up, he's been calling you since earlier. Maybe he's very worried. He's just as hurt as you." Nayla tried to bring Celine and Darren closer together.

Because she had faith, that her friend's story could not end just like that. The love between them was too real, it couldn't be as simple as it had to end.

'Now I summarize; what most poignant is not about him leaving me in so much pain. Whether it's because of betrayal or cheating. But the most ironic thing was being separated as a result of compulsion for the common good.

Even though it is actually difficult to digest, what is so good about that?'
