That next morning, I woke up from my sleep, basically trying to get these thoughts of Val off my mind. Then I heard a knock on the door, it's a little too early for visitors at six o'clock in the morning.
When I opened the door, there was a woman that looked five foot nine, who had platinum blonde hair that matched Paris Hilton's, eyes so blue that it looked like an ocean in paradise. She was wearing all pink, looking like a life-size barbie doll. She looked very wealthy too. I can tell by the way she was presenting herself: Boujee with good girl intentions. Honestly, she could've been Paris's twin.
"Can I help you?" I asked the woman.
"Why, yes, I'm looking for Maya Jaxon." Even she sounded boujee too.
I gave a nod. "Who are you?"
"I'm Trina Hathaway. I'm the step-sister of Zoey Milan."
"I didn't know Zoey had a step-sister." Unless I was still sleeping in my head.
"Oh yeah, her mom and my dad got married a month ago. And it's been one hell of a journey."
I nodded again. "Do you want something, Trina?" I was trying my best not to sound rude, but hopefully she didn't notice.
"Oh yes, you know Heather is hosting an event this Saturday night called Dead Girls' Night Out, right"
"Dead Girls' Night Out?" I had no idea what that was. "And who is Heather?"
Trina nodded. "It's one night of excitement and erotica."
"I think I'll pass, sorry." I tried to close the door on her.
"Wait!" Trina said.
I paused for a second. I would've just closed the door all the way, but I wasn't rude like that, so I stood there, waiting for an answer.
"Me and Zoey need a ride there, if you don't mind."
I sighed. "You can't just call a cab?"
She shook her head. "My father won't let me carry my own money."
I'm surprised that an heiress in New York doesn't carry her own money because her father won't let her, I guess that's daddy's little girl for you.
I sighed, again. "Okay, I'll do it." I hate to make sacrifices, but I'll do it just this once. What could possibly go wrong? I asked myself.
"Oh my gosh, thank you, Maya. How can I ever repay you?"
"Don't mention it."
She nodded. "Do you want Zoe's number? I can write it down for you."
"Let me guess, your dad won't let you call, huh?"
"It's a long story."
I didn't want to say anything after. Maybe her dad actually is protecting her in some way, or she's not legally her own guardian. I had so many questions in my head that I'm curious about.
Trina wrote Zoe's number for me to call on a piece of paper in her purse and gave it to me.
To be honest I'm a little nervous about Saturday night. Not because of spoiled, horny women who are trying to have sex and get intoxicated, but what if this place was full of vampires and werewolves in disguise, so that they can maul on precious women and think that they'll get away with it? If that happens then it's my fault. I just don't want that to happen.
"What time do you want me to pick y'all up?" I asked.
"Eight o'clock, if possible."
"Okay sounds good."
"See you then, Maya."
Then she left my house as I closed the door.
