It was almost nine o'clock at night and once we got to Dead Girls' Night Out, the place looked familiar to me as if I'd been here before. I couldn't remember anything at that moment. There was a bouncer named Cassius, one of the most powerful, yet voracious vampires I know. I remembered him from my twenty-first birthday party two years ago. He was one of the vampires I invited, well, Travie too. Besides the point, Cassius was a cool person. He doesn't give a damn about human's problems and he keeps his secrets to himself, which I respect.
"Hello, girls, you're just in time for the Ladies' free entry." Cassius said to us.
"Hey, Cassius. Long time, no see." I told him.
He didn't recognize me for a moment, then his eyes widened. "Maya Jaxon, it has been way too long. How are ya?"
"I'm doing okay. It's my day off, and so these two dragged me into coming here tonight."
Trina glared at me in the corner of her eye.
Cassius laughed. "Oh boy, you're in for a treat tonight." His cryptic response was fishy, and I didn't like it at all.
I still kept my game face on and trying not to worry about the possibilities of people getting slaughtered tonight. I knew I had the feeling that something's up, but I just wanted to have a good time, that's all that matters.
Cassius let us in. He grabbed my shoulder, turned around and looked right at him, and whispered in my ear saying, "Be careful, you might not remember, but there are a lot of vicious werewolves in there, whatever you do, do not kill them, you will immediately get kicked out of the club."
I was hesitant for a second, but then I nodded, and went inside with Trina and Zoey.
Dead Girls' Night Out was a freak show, no not a circus either. There was a lot of BDSM with chains and whips, male and female exotic dancers stripping for money, pole dancers shaking their asses on the dance floor, and bloodlust from vampires were everywhere, even though bloodlust was legal. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, but I felt a little uncomfortable.
My whole body tensed up as I walked around the club. I didn't see anyone that I knew, especially Sophia. And in my head, I'm beginning to miss Val after her death. It's all because of these stupid mutts in New York City who were taking over the whole population by storm.
I felt irritation and rage in my soul, and the werewolves will be dead if they kill another friend or family of mine and think that they will get away with it. In their fucking dreams.
A woman with a short bob walked over to Trina and Zoey were standing, and started to whisper something in Trina's ear, while Zoey was minding her own business. I walked over to Zoey and asked her a question about Trina. "Zoey, I have a question."
"Sure, what's up?" she asked in her angelic voice again.
"Well . . . it's regarding Trina," I said.
"Oh."
I knew it might've been a trigger for Zoey, because the way she said it sounded like she was annoyed by that statement. Oh well. "Does she even like you?"
Zoey shook her head. "She hates me with a passion."
"I figured."
"I'm predictable, I know, but she has always been Daddy's little girl and I've been Mommy's girl. We have different hobbies, musical tastes, and even friends."
"Well, that's not bad."
"I'm not finished yet. Even today when we were getting ready, she told me she had a surprise for me at the Dead Girls' Night Out event, and possibly the point of no return."
If Trina's planning something for Zoey that might cause death. I might as well kill Trina if something happens to her step-sister. I thought to myself.
The woman with a short blue bob, and wearing a black satin jumpsuit saw me and gave me a greeting I'd never thought would happen. She gave me a kiss on the cheeks. "Hello, Maya. I'm Heather Duval, I'm the head owner for Brotherhood Blood and the host of the annual Dead Girls' Night Out event." She looked at Zoey and gave her a nod.
Zoey on the other hand just smiled and waved like a good girl should. Something was very wrong about tonight, I'm still not happy about it.
Heather put her arm around Zoey's shoulder and walked together to go backstage. They disappeared after that.
Then the lights went out for a minute. I was getting oversuspicious about it, but I figured it was part of the act tonight. Then the spotlight turned on, and I saw Heather jumped on stage with a microphone, I thought she might be introducing somebody, but no I was wrong, well sorta. "Welcome ladies and ghouls to the fifth annual Dead Girls' Night Out."
The audience by the stage clapped their hands, except for Trina. She interlaced her fingers while making an evil, dark face that this might've been a setup. A setup for death and failure.
Heather continued talking. "Tonight, we have a special treat for you tonight. Bring out the candidate!"
What I saw was unbelievable, Zoey was tied up in a cage with a ball gag in her mouth, and she was completely naked. I was distraught of what I saw. My mouth was wide open because of the vulgarity and filthiness of what I was about to see.
"Oh Dante!" She called out.
And there was a vicious werewolf on a leather leash with fangs like no other, full of slobber and blood; his fur was a white color like the cold, winter snow, and also looked smooth as a real timber wolf; and the scariest thing was he was standing on his own two feet. Dante the werewolf was also growling and viciously barking at her. I couldn't believe what was about to happen to Zoey. I didn't want to watch.
"Yes, yes, yes," Trina said quietly as she was glaring at Dante and Zoey.
I looked at these crazy people up in the club thinking to myself why could they enjoy this, for what? Publicity? Good ratings? Or worse . . . the joy of someone dying? Especially from a young girl like Zoey? I was ready to kill Dante, and possibly Trina for setting me up, since I work for the law. Not good on my part.
Heather opened the cage as Dante was still on a leash in werewolf form. Then Heather was about to unhook the leash off him so he could maul on Zoey. Now, Trina's face looked anxious and apprehensive, but she loved bad things to happen, I supposed.
No, no, no. I thought.
"Yes," Trina whispered to herself.
I don't want this to happen at all.
As soon as Heather unlocked the leash off him, I knew it was too late. All I could see was Zoey's limbs were torn off her body, blood gushing everywhere. Her screaming for help out of a ball gag was so emotional for me, it made me angry, actually. Then Dante decided to use his claw to impale Zoey right through her stomach, intestinal cavities gutted out.
Trina was jumping up and down in excitement clapping her hands. That's when I slapped Trina across the face. I had a secret dagger hidden in my boot, so I could kill anyone who'd done wrong, and in this situation, it was Trina who had done wrong. I wanted to kill her, but my priority in my head was to kill the werewolf.
Rage was digging into my soul and all I'd been thinking about was assassinating Dante.
I ran to the stage, but then Trina grabbed me from behind and tried to choke me by my throat. But then I used my elbow to push her off me, which worked because her weak ass fell on her back. I turned around to Trina and said angrily deep, "I'm not done with you." The dagger was in my hand and I ran and jumped in the air with the dagger pointing at Dante who was still in werewolf form, driving it into Dante's eye. Werewolf blood shot at my face, covered myself in thick crimson.
I didn't know how it happened, but the werewolf was dead after that.
Heather was appalled of what I did to Dante. She was about to call Cassius to escort me outside. I could tell she was going to do that because she had a walkie talkie on her hip. As soon as she took the walkie talkie and spoke out his name, I knew I was going to be kicked out for sure.
I wiped Dante's blood off my face, and jumped into the crowd and looked for Trina. With the dagger in my hand I saw her standing and about to run back to the front entrance, and then I threw my dagger at Trina, revolving in mid air, and impaled Trina's palm as she tried to escape. I could hear Trina screaming bloody murder from afar.
Luckily, I had another dagger in my other boot, so if she tries anything I'd stab her and end her sorry, pathetic, posh life.
Trina tried to take the dagger out of her palm, but it looked like it was stuck inside her palm real good from a distance, because she was struggling. It could only make it worse.
Cassius came and saw me running towards Trina with my dagger in my hand. As soon as I got closer, not even thinking that Cassius was there, he grabbed me by my bosom and held me back. Cassius was a strong vampire, he could easily break me in half.
"Let me go, Cassius!" I yelled, struggling to get him off me.
"What the hell's wrong with you?" Cassius asked.
"Trina killed her step-sister," I cried. I don't usually cry like this, but once it had to do with death, then might as well.
"Calm down, this is part of the Dead Girls' Night Out. It's an act. Entertainment. Publicity. A damned good erotica like you've never seen before."
"I saw her die. I saw Zoey tear into pieces."
"She wanted to die, actually." Heather walked over and told me. "Now, she is trying to call for help, I'm not sure why, but I think she changed her mind, and now it's too late." She gave me an evil stare. "And you killed one of my wolves."
"Didn't I tell you not kill the werewolves, and you'd get kicked out?"
I nodded, wiping my tears.
"Well as far as I know, Maya's banned from Brotherhood Blood, and cannot come back to the Dead Girls' Night Out events in the future." Heather said to Cassius. "Cass, please escort her out of here."
"Very well," Cassius said.
"Wait!" A dramatic pause occurred and then I said, "Let me take the dagger out of her hand." So I did. Trina ran out of the club screaming like a banshee.
I didn't know where she was going but I had to drive her back home soon.
This was the worst night in my life. I knew that Zoey was going to get killed sooner or later, because she was innocent, I could tell. But I hope Mr. Winslow wouldn't find out that I killed a werewolf that mauled Zoey, that was all entertainment for the rest of the people in New York City.
I hated my life, especially as an assassin, you'd never know what kind of mischief that people are up to. Fuck my life.
