After "Guy" left I can't help but worry. He looked worried. But I pushed that thought out of my head and went on about my day. After having breakfast, we all cleaned the dinning room and kitchen and washed the dishes. We then just sat around watching the kids take turns playing videogames. While some of us were reading some books that they had here.
It's dinner time already and I wanted to make dinner and make something special. Isaiah loves pasta so I was going to make cavatini pasta. Its my signature dish. Well while I was cooking I was hoping that "Guy" would walk through the door soon. But he didn't.
It's been hours since "Guy" left for his meeting and I'm getting worried that something might have happened. He hasn't been away this long since we got here.
We all had dinner and cleaned up the dishes and everything. It was time to shower and put the kids to bed. After the kids are in bed, I asked if it would be ok that I take a bubble bath to relax. Everyone said it was fine so I sit there relaxing, taking in the nice warm water as my body soaks into it. Just as my body was finally getting relaxed that's when I hear a knock at the door and I say I need a minute. But then they knock again, frustrated I get up and put a towel around my body and open the door.
It's "Guy". I squealed all freaked that he is in front of me while I'm basically in nothing but a towel. "Well I'm sorry. Vanessa I thought that you were already dressed or just using the restroom. I'm sorry to bother you."
"No, No its fine." I say while wrapping the towel around me. " I just wasn't expecting you being here this late." I look down hoping that he wouldn't see how shy and self conscious I am feeling. "How did your meeting go? Everything ok?"
"Yeah everything is fine." He says. But his face goes pale while he's telling me this.
"Are you sure? You don't look to good?" I say.
"Wow so I don't look good. Damn! And I tried so hard for you." He says while giving me the cutest puppy dog face.
"Oh my gosh! That is not what I meant." I say while I gently swat him on the arm.
"Ouch." He says while rubbing his arm and laughing. "Man woman you got a lot of strength don't you."
" Well I work out as much as I can."
"I can see that. Now, do you want me to give you a few, so you can change?" He askes while blushing.
"Oh yes. Thank you. Give me one second. I'll be quick I promise." I say while holding my pointing finger up, and then closing the door. I quickly change as fast as I can and then I walk out. "Guy" is waiting for me leaning against the wall.
"Hmmm, you smell good I thought we only had neutral scenting shampoo and all that."
"Yea everything is neutral. But I don't know when I shower in here I come out smelling like coconut and vanilla. Which I don't mind. But anyways what's wrong with you? Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" I ask worried.
"Is it that obvious?" He asks while looking away and walking a few steps away from me. I nod my head and he stares at me intensely. I bite my lip super worried about what is going on.
"Just tell me you don't have anything to worry about. You can trust me." I say putting my hand on his shoulder and I give him a sincere smile. He smiles back at me and he just nods his head.
"Alright. I don't even know where to begin. Just know that I have nothing to do with this. And promise me that you won't be mad at me at all."
"Ok I promise I won't be mad. Just please tell me what is going on."
He took a pause and then says, "Well as you know I had a meeting this morning. And well things didn't go the way I thought. they would. And well..."
"Ok just stop already please. Just tell me." I say I'm biting my nails at this point.
"Ok Vanessa. My bosses... well look they want you guys dead." He says while he looks away from me.
"WHAT?!?!?!?!?! What the fuck are you talking about? Why do they want us dead?" I asked with my jaw dropped.
"Ok well apparently the tsunami was an accident. Our scientists messed up and they were working on something and they didn't realize when they left it over night. When they finally realized what was wrong and how they screwed up, it was to late. And well since the tsunami hit your small town, and there was little to no survivors, and well your town isn't so 'well known' they think they can cover up their fuck up by well killing you guys."
"And what you weren't going to tell us? You were going to let them kill us or what?" I yell.
"Of course I was Vanessa, I just didn't know how to tell you. Look I like you a lot. And I wanted to figure out a way to save you all. Especially you and Isaiah." He said with a tear in his eyes.
"Well how are we going to do it? I am not going to let some people who fucked up kill the people I care most about, just to cover up their mess." I say while I begin pacing back and fourth.
"Look Vanessa I promise you I will not let anything bad happen to you. I am going to protect you and your son."
"When do they plan on killing us?"
"Day after tomorrow. But I have a plan. It may not be the best plan but I need to tell everyone just not the kids. They can't know about all this just yet."
"Alright I'm going to get the others. We have to figure this out." I walk out and wake everyone up. When everyone is gets to the living room they are all anxious and understandably so.
"Alright guys we need to be quiet and can't let the soldiers that are outside hear what we are talking about."
"Why what's going on?" Iris asks.
"Ok there is no easy way to say this but my bosses want you all dead." "Guy" says.
"WHAT?!!?!?!?!?!?!" Everyone says in unison.
"Look I know this is crazy but I have a plan. I promised Vanessa that I would protect her and her family. And she considers you all to be her family so I want to protect you all. Now the plan isn't easy but we will make it work we only have tonight and tomorrow....." "Guy" goes on with the plan. It does seem crazy but I think it might just work.
