It has been days and the war is still at large in the surface but they were running low on robots and supplies which would bring another end to the war but that might take months or maybe years until professor rose instructs the next attack so caution must be advised when wondering near the battlefield.
"I'm surprised on how long we were able to last out here, don't you agree?" Zoey asked looking at Aurora and Zak as they live in a abandoned underground burial home like a mole but it had lots of room to fit about over 100 humans inside but not as many robots despite the hole being as big as a adult human.
"Yeah but it's mainly because one of us knows how to cook" Zak replied back reminding that if it wasn't for Aurora they wouldn't died of starvation or something even worse.
"And I'm glad that it's somewhere that hasn't been touched by the war yet" Aurora spoke up as she sat on one of the wooden stools that were left here from whoever used to live here.
"You love nature that much you want to live in it!" Zak said looking At her before wandering back up the hole that was covered by wooden door that was covered camouflaging the entrance so no one could enter or see them when they flee from anger.
"Be careful this time Zak I don't know how long I can keep bandaging you up!" Zoey yelled at her brother as he was heard leaving the underground house while Zoey grew uncertain before looking at Aurora who felt the same despite hardly knowing the dude.
"should we follow him?" Aurora asked Zoey as Zoey put a hand near her mouth unsure of what to do or say incase another argument breaks out but she wanted to make sure that her brother was alright too.
"I-I you can I'll stay here and keep watch this time" Zoey responded with a stutter as Aurora shrugged her shoulders before heading back after Zak just to make sure that he wasn't getting himself into trouble again.
When closing the door after her, Aurora was able to walk through the trees and moss growing on them which wasn't broken making the forest as beautiful as it was before but this was a different forest which was a bit closer to metro city than it was to the surface where the war was at.
Aurora knew the risks of following Zak but what was the point in just sitting in a underground house all day waiting for the war to be done when there is adventuring to do. "I need to find him" she thought following his tracks sickle they all were still wearing the same clothes from the day they escaped the underground.
She saw Zak coming across one of the hugest pills of scarp that was dumped from metro city before it came down due to a huge robot destroying the electricity that made it float, but luckily they had a hero that saved the day and would help them from anything even alien invasions.
"Being 13 sucks" she thought looking around seeing the nature still thriving freely without a care in the world and she wanted to protect this beautiful place even if it was her new home. "Still I can't come across why he would go to one of the scrap piles anyway?" She thought again as she noticed some kids going in the direction Zak was looking through for scraps making her panic a little bit but hopefully he knows what to do when he interacts with people from the surface.
"When can I actually find something useful in this junk" Zak said to himself as some clanked behind him as he quickly turned around to see some kids of different ages stop and stare at them as he stared back before noticing Aurora in the woods watching them closely.
"What are you doing?" The girl asked who seems to have a bit of purple in her hair showing that it dyed as he sighed knowing that he can't blow his cover right now.
"What do you think? I'm scavenging for useful junk.... what are you doing?" He relied back being a cocky smart ass as usual when he comes across people he doesn't know or just seemed to hate for no reason at all. The girl huffed a bit offended at the reply he gave back to her.
"Rude much. Did your nanny boys ever teach you any manners?" She relied back as he gulped unsure of what to say since their really isn't any nanny boys in the underground when there is actually humans who take care of unwanted children or robots whenever they desire to.
"Why would you need nanny bots when you can run wild in the forest" he replied trying his best to not blow that he was part of the underground population while Aurora was kinda disappointed by the way he was actually talking to them. "She is so disappointed in me right now if I don't end this right now" he thought to himself as he was able to grab something shiningly interesting before looking at the forest.
"I'd love to talk but... gotta go!" He said before dashing off away from them and into the forest with Aurora since he didn't really have a choice because those kids kinda look like they knew the place way better than he did.
"I am not gonna ask why?" Aurora said to Zak as he pouted a bit disappointed in himself too but instead of heading back they kept a watch out on the kids to see if they're as bad as they're with butting their noses in other peoples business. "I wonder when the war will end?" Aurora thought to herself wanting all the bad things to end and peace between all of places that were at war but what caused the war in the first place.
"You seem puzzled? What's on your mind?" Zak asked noticing the worry on her face before sighing getting it straight away. "Great, she's homesick" he thought to himself before now seeing a boy there but where the heck did he come from. His voice could be heard since they were still in the same spot when they came across Zak.
"What do you mean weird? I'm sure he's not him that bad" he said to the girl but the others weren't there this time it was just the boy and the girl talking alone about something.
"Astor, he seemed weird he said 'why would you need nanny bots when you can run wild in the forest' isn't that a bit suspicious?" She said revealing the boys name as Zak gulped like he knew it very well watching them carefully with every step they take.
"Cora, I am sure that everything will be fine! You just gotta give people a change to redeem Themselves" he said back to the girl now giving them her name which seemed to be way better than asking now but why would watching do anything right now?
"Do you think we should be doing this? After all I need to get more supplies" Aurora said looking at Zak who seemed to be glued at the two talking ignoring her entirely. "Never mind I'm just talking to myself again" she thought to herself before looking back but this time the boy seemed to be looking in their direction locking eye contact with her as she jolted up running off back to the hideout not wanting anything bad to Happen.
"Aurora wait!" Zak said rushing after her knowing how frightened she was of the boy but having seen the horrors of war for the first time does have a tole on you. Even the innocent have their breaking points. "Why is she running? He's completely harmless despite being a robot" he thought looking at the boy before going after Aurora hoping to prevent anything she regrets doing.
Aurora was able to rush back to the underground house seeing that Zoey was still there noticing that Aurora was Quite startled about something. Zak quickly rushed after her out of breath but Aurora seemed to be fine when it comes to stamina that the twins.
"What happened this time?" Zoey asked really hoping that Aurora didn't prank Zak again making him chase after her and tackle her to the floor before ticking her until she apologised to him.
"No, she ran of from Astro." He replied surprising Zoey with the name but it was more strange that Aurora wouldn't know who Astro was and even ran away from him. "Does she know that he's completely harmless? Robots can't hurt humans or half humans or even robots that have hard putter shell but the ability to do what ever human can do?" Zak thought to himself doubting Aurora for a quick second before noticing that she never met a human looking robot before.
"Don't be afraid he won't do any damage, he protects humans and robots from harm especially you" Zoey said trying to tell her than Astro was the good guy in this world and the girl was probably one of his friends too. "I hope she won't hate if she founds out what we are" she thought to herself before feeling a bit nervous the same feeling her brother was of what she would think of them when she finds out the truth of everything.
"He isn't dangerous?" Aurora asked looking at the both of them making it way more obvious that she doesn't know who Astro is. "I wonder what else they're hiding from me?" She though to herself before taking a big breath In and then out trying to calm herself down.
"If he was I would've taken you away instead of watching them" Zak said owning and reminding her why he didn't act like a coward like she did but she was a girl and was afraid of dangerous things like human killing robots or anything that seems dangerous to her like another human. "I wish only if she could see the truth about this world than being afraid of everything she sees as a threat because of her heartless mother" he though to himself hating the professor with all of his heart but Aurora was different way different from her mother she actually had a heart and feared things instead of destroying them besides girl the dead tree she punched.
"If you say so.....also I'm sorry for running off like that" Aurora said apologising about the at she reacted locking eyes with a stranger a bit she never met before from the surface. "I want to be as strong as Zak and Zoey are and be able to rely on myself...... mother was right I really am useless" she thought I herself knocking herself down something she's done many times before meeting these two amazing people bringing them into her life.
"You might as well stay here.... Zoey come with me" Zak said as Aurora stayed in the borrow this time as the twins went with each other out of the burrow and off to someplace probably back to Astro.
"I'm not so sure that she'll want to meet the boy after fleeing for her life brother?" Zoey said to Zak as he sighed know like that as they continued to walk back to the place they saw him but this time he wasn't there meaning he must me around here somewhere or at metro city.
"We should separate until we find him and meet up back here" Zak replied as the two took off since they can only active their boosters when they're alone especially around Aurora when she technically now hates them due to the war but was fine with the description they gave her about Astor being a good robot.
Aurora sat alone in the burrow house waiting for them to return but anyway hung could happen when they aren't here. "I'm bored maybe I should've stick skeins outside of the house until they come back" Aurora asked herself before standing up onto her feet before taking herself up to the door before stopping right in front of it hearing something.
"This area looks so familiar" a voice said stopping in front of the door not noticing that the door was covered by it while Aurora hoped that they would not find their way in.
"Obviously it where we found ZOG remember" a girl said as the voice became quite familiar to her making her worry not wanting to meet them right now since she was scared to actually speak to anyone other than her two friends that helped her escape from the underground.
"I know but that girl we saw run off looks so familiar to me? Do you recognise her Cora?" The boy asked as she gulped knowing it was Astro while the two kept in front of the door but can robots see through metal or something. "Please walk away I don't want to meet you" she though to herself with a slight hint of panic as one of them seemed to have tripped outside making Aurora to take a step back from the door.
"You alright Astro?" The girl asked with laughed at him from tumbling but the one thing Aurora never hand in her life was fitness or love so instead of facing everything she just fears and runs away unless she knows it's her own underground pals.
"I'm fine but I wonder when father would stop making robots for this war, it won't be long until the underground will loose again and this time they'll loos more than their supplies to make more dangerous robots" he said as Aurora gulped unsure of what to do as they continued to chat and had the audacity to speak about the underground in such a way not understanding the struggles they have and the lack of food supplies to feed thousands of people and their families.
"They need to lock professor rose up for good! Especially when she murdered her own daughter just for an experiment" the girl spoken a the boy sighed not believing anything Cora just said.
"Where have you heard that from? Even someone like her wouldn't swoop that low especially for an experiment! She loves her daughter as what I heard from Dr, Hope" he replied as she sighed but the two doesn't even know the reality between her Relationship with her mother.
"But I never met her daughter before so how would you know if it's hers?" The girl said which seemed to bring Aurora out of the hiding surprising the two of them with her presence but they didn't seem to know where she came from. "How dare she say that about my mother!" Aurora thought glaring at Cora with our rage of what horrible things she just said about her mother the one thing that actually snapped.
"Take that back! Every last bit of it!" She exclaimed as Astro looked at her seeing the girl from before trying to recognise her but it was way harder than he thought.
"Why don't you kid your business!?" Cora yelled back quite pisses about Aurora butting in but she had the right to when the girl started bad mouthing about her mother first.
"No! You stop bad mouthing about my mother!" She yelled at her revealing her identity but she laughed like it was some sort of joke. "Does she not believe me?" Aurora thought to herself confused about what was happening right now.
"You! Her daughter? Hah! Don't make me laugh! Have you seen yourself, especially when you ran away from us! Rose's daughter wouldn't do that would she!?" Cora said acting like she knew the girl but did she know that she was actually talking to the real deal. "If mother was here she would've had her head by now" Aurora thought unsure of what else to say while Astro liked at the two unsure of what to do beside stop it.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you like the pathetic surfacer you are!" Aurora yelled back as Cora yelled grabbing her by the collar of her shirt now face to face with one another getting serious very quickly.
"Wow! Cora let her go! I'm sure she was just kidding! Right? Tell her your just kidding?!" Astro said exclaimed not wanting anyone to get hurt right now but Aurora stayed quiet as Cora still held her tightly before letting go through img he back aggressively.
"I was kidding but can you keep your dog in leash!" Aurora yelled keeping her eyes locked into Cora while Zak and Zoey rushed over putting themselves in front of Aurora like a wall protecting her from Cora.
"I think that's enough! Please could you calm her down Astor! I don't want them to find her" Zak yelled begging Astro as he went in front of Cora like they did with Aurora showing his co-operation with them.
"I'm sorry about this, it's mainly my fault guys and I'm sorry to you too" he said apologising to all three of them before taking Cora away from them hopefully for good until they actually calm Aurora down.
5 minutes later and I'm the burrow Zak and Zoey are currently lecturing Aurora about the things she just did which could've revealed something that could've gotten them arrested or killed.
"I told her about my mother but she didn't believe me and called me a coward!" Aurora said as Zak sighed still a bit angry about this but he would've done the same if it was his sister being bad mother about not knowing the truth about a certain person.
"I know but please don't talk about rose while up here! You could get us taken away and Interrogated or killed" Zak said as she looked away guilty since she came out of no where no they won't be able to fine their burrow anyway. "I would slap her if I could but I can't" Zak though to himself obviously angry with the girl but she was 13 and actually like her age. Aurora didn't like being looked down by people who don't even know what they're speaking about like Cora until she actually meets professor rose in person.
"I know your mad but let's pretend that you guys aren't related in anyway, alright? Just so we can stay alive and free until the war ends" Zoey asked Aurora as she sighed nodding agreeing with her friend to keep her self opinion about the underground i herself for her friends safety.
"I guess we can teach you how to fit in with the people in the surface.... WITH OUT... fighting anyone" Zak said making quite obvious to not engage in a fight with anyone especially Cora. "I guess I have no choice" Aurora thought to herself knowing that she now has to play by the twins rules so they get to live to see another day.
