A smile creeps up on his delicate lips when he sees you shocked beyond belief. You can't help but carefully caress his features. How is this possible?
"What's gotten into you today?" He giggles. How am I touching him? How can I see him? Am I dreaming? Did I die? Did I get run over? Is this the afterlife? Did someone drug me?
"You died. I saw you die." You whisper. Jimin cocks his head to the side and knits his eyebrows together.
"Die? When did I die? Do I look dead to you?" Jimin stares worriedly at you. Suddenly he jumps up and flings his arms out like a bird. "I'm alive!" He shouts at the top of his lungs. A giggle escapes your lips and you quickly cover your face with your hands. How can I laugh at a situation like this?
"Jimin." You call out his name. He holds his hand out and you take it without a second thought. "Where are we going?" You ask. He chortles at your idiocy and that confuses you even more.
"To school, Dumbo." He replies. You halt immediately and Jimin gets pulled back. "What's wrong?" He asks.
"I... nothing." You decide to enjoy the moment while it lasts. It's just another dream. I'll wake up sooner or later. Jimin continues dragging you to school and you let a grin play on your face.
"Why are you grinning like a Cheshire cat?" Jimin suddenly asks. You shake your head, still grinning. Oh you have no idea how much I've missed you Park Jimin, you think to yourself.
The grip on your hand loosens and you look up to see Jimin staring, no glaring, at something, no someone. It's Eunhee, his ex-girlfriend. He begins muttering under his breath and continues walking along, totally forgetting about you. You shake your head and run after him.
After a few more minutes, the school gates appear in front of you. Jimin doesn't seem to notice and walks past it. "Jimin! You're going the wrong way!" You shout after him. Jimin gets startled and turns around. He sheepishly grins and follows you.
"Sorry, I was too deep in my thoughts." He mutters an apology. You quickly tell him to forget about it and head to class. While walking to class you notice people staring at you. Is there something on my face? You worry. They soon start to point and mutter.
"Jimin, why are they looking at me?" You turn around and notice Jimin's disappeared. Where'd he go? Your heart begins to beat fast and your breathing gets ragged. Where's Jimin?
"Boo!" A voice behinds you startle you. It was Eunhee surprising Jimin with some flowers and chocolates. Huh? What's going on? Her hands were covering his eyes and Jimin was grinning. Wait... grinning?
"I wonder who it could be?" He says to himself. Eunhee removes her hands from Jimin's eyes and he turns around to face her. "Eunhee, hey!" He says cheerfully.
"Happy valentines, baby!" Eunhee hands over her gifts to Jimin. Jimin pulls a small box out of his back pocket and hands it to her. It's an infinity necklace. Eunhee gasps and Jimin places it around her neck.
"It's a promise that my love for you will never die. I'll forever love you, Eunhee." Jimin pulls Eunhee into a hug and they both stay like that for a few seconds while the whole school coo over the cuteness.
What's going on? They broke up 3 years ago. Valentine's day? It's October. They both pull apart and stare at each other with love filled eyes. I mentally gag. I clear my throat and Jimin turns around to me.
"Oh, sorry." He chuckles. "I forget how much you hate seeing the cliché moment." He adds. Suddenly everything seems too real, as if you're not dreaming. Jimin takes a step forward with a smile etched over his face and you fumble back. No. No, this isn't happening! I did not spend 2 years without you for nothing. I remember everyday I lived without you by my side! I still feel the misery.
"Seo-yeon? Are you okay? You don't look too good." Jimin's face begins to blur and his voice begins to fade. Am I waking up? Is this really a dream? Everything begins to darken and you feel your body slowly begin to fall to the ground.
