Chapter 4 - 0.3

"Seo-yeon? Seo-yeon?" You hear a voice that sounds strangely familiar but far away. "Seo-yeon, wake up." The voice calls out again.

"Shut up. I'm trying to sleep." You mumble. You hear a sigh and a slight chuckle. Suddenly, the dream came back to you and you jolted up. "I had the wildest dream." You gasp.

"Oh, yeah? What was it about?" Your head drops and a tear rolls down your cheek. Even though it was a dream it felt so real. I miss him even more than before.

"I had a dream Jimin was still alive." You look up at the person next to you and gasp. "J-Jimin?" You stutter. A smirk makes its way onto his plump lips and his head shakes from side to side as he laughs.

"You're a wild one." Jimin continues laughing. You stumble out of the bed you were laying on and make your way to the door to leave. "Hey, where are you going? You need to rest." Jimin scolds you as he drags you back onto the bed.

"I need to see my brother!" You snap back. All colour instantly drains from Jimin's face. He opens and closes his mouth, like a goldfish, unsure how to answer you.

You get up again and this time Jimin doesn't stop you. He just stands there, face ashen, hands trembling and mouth wide open. You place your hand on the door handle and look back at Jimin. Worry takes over and you go over to him. "Jimin? Snap out of it!" You click your fingers in front of his face and he flinches.

"Seo-yeon, I think you bumped your head a bit too hard." Jimin announces. You frown at him and touch your head. My head? What's my head got to do with my brother?

"I'm going to see my brother." You glare at him and walk out the door. You look behind you and find Jimin trailing after you. You roll your eyes and continue on your way.

"Seo-yeon?" Jimin calls your name and you turn around to face him. Cocking your brows, you tap your foot for him to continue. "You don't have a brother." Jimin drops a bombshell on you.

You bark out a laugh and Jimin looks at you as if you've gone mad. "Don't be ridiculous, Jimin. I spoke to him this morning." You shake your head and wait for Jimin to say something back.

"Seo-yeon, I think we should go to the doctor. I think you have a concussion." Jimin says. Cracking your head from side to side you shake your head no.

"I'm going home." You mumble. "I can't deal with your crap right now." You add. You start walking home and Jimin grabs your wrist, stopping you.

"Your house is that way." Jimin points in the other direction and you sigh.

"My house is that way, Jimin." You reply, pointing to the way of your house.

"No, it isn't. I think it's best we get you to the hospital." Jimin mumbled half to himself.

"I'm not going to the hospital. I'm going home." You yank your hand back and fast walk back to your house. You hear your name being called but you don't turn back to give him the satisfaction.

After a few more minutes of your name being called, arms being yanked back and arguments on where your home is, you find yourself in front of the place you used to call home. You stare at the place your house should be.

"Seo-yeon?" You feel and hand on your shoulder and you recoil away.

"Where's my house?" You stare at the empty stop where your house should be.

"This house was burned down. A family came to live here with their son and the house caught on fire." Jimin tells you. Burned down? That explains the ash and the burn marks on the ground. "The parents died that night. Nobody knows what happened to the boy. He was never found. Some say he was burned to ashes. Some say he was kidnapped. Some say he ran away. But no remains of a boy were found and nobody saw him out and about that night. The most likely one is kidnapped." You let out a gasp.

You don't want to ask him but if you want to get to the bottom of this you need to ask. "The son, what was his name?" You ask.

Jimin looks at you and shrugs. "Sungmin, I think." Your eyes widen and another gasp escapes your lips.

"When did this happen?" You ask. My brother could still be alive, you think to yourself.

"Before you moved here." Jimin replies. You brows furrow and you look at Jimin confused.

"Before I moved here? Jimin, I've lived here all my life." You chuckle.

"No, you've lived in America most of your life but your foster dad wanted to move back to his hometown." Jimin explains to you. Foster dad? I was Fostered? I lived in America? "Come on, let's get you home. I'll explain to your parents what happened and they'll probably let you have the rest of the day off from school." Jimin takes your hand in his and walks you back 'home'.

"Jimin?" You wait for him to reply before continuing. Jimin hums and you continue. "What about my real parents?" You ask. Jimin turns to look at you and sighs.

"You were given up for adoption when you were born. When you turned five a family came. They saw you and instantly fell in love with you, so they adopted you. On your 15th birthday, police came and arrested your parents for kidnapping. Turns out, there was a little boy locked up in their basement. After that you were put into foster care. A year later, your parents took you in and moved here." Jimin answers your question.

"How do you know all that?" Jimin looks at you and laughs. You look at him confused and that makes him laugh harder.

"You told me that!" He continues laughing. Your mouth gaped open and you sheepishly grin.

As you both walk back to your 'home', thoughts go through your head. Is this real or am I actually dreaming? It doesn't feel like a dream anymore. Why did my parents give me up for adoption when I was born? Who was the little boy in the basement? What happened to Sungmin? Is my brother still alive?
