Chapter 1 - Forbidden

"Obey. For I am the Queen and the protector of this world. No mortals or vampires shall be harmed under my provision" —Xier Rayden

...

This is automaze, no orders from the Queen

This is automaze, no orders from the Captains

This is automaze, no orders from the Officers

Proceed with the operations.

"CIRCLE BACK! CIRCLE BACK!" I immediately jumped at the nearby tree when I heard the command. The others also struggled to get away from the damn ugly monsters. The numbers are always striking up higher.

"Captain! They are coming from the East" Helena reported.

I waited for the captain's command for a few seconds. His eyes trembled with fear, hands visibly shaking, and no signs for him to say a single thing. Nothing came out of his mouth.

"CAPTAIN! YOUR ORDERS!"

I clicked my tongue in annoyance and ignored them. I had to go down once again to help the other vampires. What a useless captain.

"LEE!"

I swung my blade straight right to the throats of these nasty damn creatures causing the black color of their blood to gush out of their neck. The growls got louder when I did. Filthy bastards. I didn't sign up for this. Unknowingly, they do make my blood boil. Plus their smell. It fucking stinks.

It's not even enough. There's no end to it.

"Lee! Catch" My head started to feel light as I switch my blades to the guns Helena just threw. One last second, I had to click the triggers after I cast a certain spell.

Destruct. Intensity 20.

One barrier has been formed after I shot at the bunch of X's and luckily, it worked. But just like I said, there's no end of them. I had to glance up only to see the captain terrified and in shock. No orders. No command. The fear of the other vampires is constantly ringing in my ears as they scream in pain.

The Old Meral Kingdom. Block 43. No signs of other battalions and team. Even the orders from higher-ups didn't reach us yet. I have 6 seconds to think clearly and decide. If I waste no time to wait for further instructions, I would have to deal with the consequences. And if I don't...

More of us will die

"NO! I'll help" I immediately pulled her away, Helena who just jumped down from the tree.

"No. Stay in that tree" She shoved my hand and ran to the vampires to aid help. I gritted my teeth only to dash forward and continued swinging my sword. I didn't hesitate to cut off their heads. There's no such thing as compassion for these creatures. They kill and it's our job to exterminate them.

"Lee, how long are we gonna hold them up?" I heard her scream as I backed off once more only to support her reckless actions.

"Until someone tells us to stop killing them" I answered.

Things are starting to get bad. Many vampires are injured and we are fucking cornered in the side of the forest with no means of communication with the commander. And it's starting to piss me off. "Helena, I'll hold them here. You go help the others to climb at the trees where they won't reach you there"

"What about you?"

"I'll be fine. Stay as far as possible, please"

"Lee, it won't work! Stop!"

"CAPTAIN! WE ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE TO SURVIVE IN THIS, ALLOW ME TO EXECUTE THEM USING MY POWERS" My voice firmly echoed through the open area. I'm sure everybody clearly heard my voice except for that dimwitted captain who just climbed off that tree to hide.

No response. No orders and no further words came out from his mouth.

"LEE!"

This is not the world I asked to give us. This is not what I wanted to take part in. I only asked for freedom and now they gave me this. Allies, families, friends, and now, myself. They're taking it all in. And I have the ability to make it stop even just for a moment. Even if it takes my life.

Just so, I know it's 100% not going to work but I'm risking my life here. One more word and the spell is going to blast everything off with my command. Forgive me for disobeying you, my queen.

--

"Why do you want to be a soldier? Those vampires in uniforms don't look good at all" she suddenly grabbed my book without even thinking about it. I glared at her and stood up.

"I want to find someone" I replied

"Oh, who is it?"

"Stop talking to me will you, little kid" I sighed and forcefully snatched my book away from her grip causing her to follow me again.

"Why are you always so cold to me. You're the only vampire kid I know here"

"What is your dream then, little kid?"

"I want to serve the queen! And don't call me little kid! I am Helena Reve! HE-LE-NA"

"Fine, little kid."

--

"This is Lee Revon. I, who swore to protect thy land, thy kingdom and thy Queen permit to use my ability to kill" raising my hand to activate the spell I made, the mark on my wrist alongside with my magic circle matched up in one light. The red flaming symbols one by one started to form.

"Expe—"

"SOLDIER! HALT!"

My knees gave in at the moment I heard the voice. Knees bent. Eyes up forward only to see the blazing red casting coming out from her body. One second and everything's clean. No traces of the X-species were found except for the blood that sprayed all throughout the place when she placed her magic.

So, this is her power? I have never seen it with my bare eyes. Up until now. How terrifying.

Before I realize everything, I couldn't feel my legs as my body stayed on the ground, unable to move a single limb.

The power to bind a vampire's body and even control it.

The others immediately jumped out only to bow and kneel. Yes, it is her. The Queen and the one and only commander of all operations, Xier Rayden.

"M-my Queen... we were very sorry to delay the operations.. We were cornered and t-the automaze response can't reach u-us" the captain explained, trembling as he kept his knees above the ground.

"Save your apologies later, Captain Deen. I own up to the automaze, the signals are blocked from here in the kingdom but may I ask if you allowed Officer Lee Revon to use his ability?"

Without having a chance to defend myself, I just watched the other officers circle around me. The light and the symbol of the royal palace appeared before my eyes. They're ready to kill me.

"I- I.. I didn't, my queen" Captain had a chance to look in my direction and he obviously defended himself for being selfish. I know what I did wrong but he surely knew how to spare himself.

"But the vampires are all injured and Lee just tried to save us!" unable to stop her from speaking, I can't even force my mouth to shout at that stupid girl

No one attempted to talk back rather than her. She really had the audacity to act like that towards the queen only to defend me. I could feel the rage from the queen's blood. One wrong move and we both can be found in the dungeon of soldiers or worse, dead. Helena, you damn fool.

"Battalion 3, go mend the soldiers. Stay at your posts, we're camping out here" my breath hitched as I felt my body move once again. Helena immediately came to aid me and she supported me until I can stand. "We'll settle this at the castle when we go back"

The guards and officers withdraw themselves immediately. Switching their sides only to follow and obey the queen's next orders. Gasping for more air, my body felt weak. All of my energy is consumed before I even knew it. "Stop acting like a rebel, Helena" I whispered.

I could hear her small cries as she defended herself, "I'm not a rebel. I—I'm a good girl"

I let her drag me, I can only feel the electric pain the queen had sent all throughout my body. Helena positioned me over the mender and she really picked the position near the captains and the queen. Nice job.

"My queen, if we start to take this path where the X-species are somewhat minimal due to the barrier, it will take about 8 hours of journey. The soldiers wouldn't make it. We have to stay for the rest of the night here and guard all sides." said the acting Vice Commander, Kiel Charles.

"Then we wait" she ordered.

"Yes, your highness"

"Order to take turns for watching. Rest now."

Sighing, I bowed down my head to see how the symbol at my wrist started to fade as it was before. I nearly could've died and killed everyone. Including myself. I will apologize for disobeying my actions but I could never accept the fact that our captain allowed the other vampires to get killed without addressing a proper command to us. I am not a fool and I value the lives of my comrades. "Lee, I smell humans"

"What?"

"IN THE NAME OF THE QUEEN, DROP YOUR WEAPONS! SURRENDER! NOW!"
