"I smell them. The Queen is near" tired from the war, Captain Jake supported himself using his sword and wiped the blood out of his nose.

11:59 AM

We never expected the attack of the X-species. They came from the West and the barrier has become very light because of the disappearance of the Queen and his protector, the master of all barriers. Almost all of the Soldiers came with her, leaving us, the magic battalion to handle the Royal Kingdom.

"I suggest to let me lead the team, Captain. We should extend the attack region, they will get through the barrier if we didn't" I spoke, making him tilt his head looking at me.

"I'll wait for the Queen to arrive here. Make sure to clear up the path. The power is yours, Carl" I immediately bowed to show him respect. The other teams also caught up with me by their horses.

Normally, they would attack when the night strikes because they smell us through that specific period of time. We gain our strength at night plus our vision makes us more superior to them but if we are killed by them, immortality means nothing to us.

"Match your spells and chants with me. The archery and the gun handlers are also encouraged to shoot when I said so" I commanded.

The Queen herself permitted me to use my ability which made me really grateful for her and the reason why I fight is that she gave me the chance to live once again. I will always stand by her orders and for every single creature that defies her, I will gladly expel it for her.

"I, as the handler of the red magic will allow the vampires to feed on my blood. Grant us power!" Piercing my very own flesh, I let my blood flow out of my body which immediately connected to my fellow soldiers.

"Vice-captain! This is dangerous!"

"This is the power of the Sy, our blood itself is the power. Now, feed on me."

Eyes dyed with the darker shade of red. Their power now truly emerges with my own blood, combining the power we all have. The Queen did not classify me as an S-vampire for anything and she wouldn't leave me here just to witness my comrades die from these filthy ass predators.

The border has now increased. I can feel their rage and power rush through my veins. This ability grants the other vampires to extend their magical capabilities, making them much more powerful than they actually are. However, I can feel all their pain, their anguish, and their determination. All are connected through me. That's why using the red magic all depends on me.

I am aware of its risk. I could just die from them feeding on my blood.

"Do not falter from them. Our queen is near, believe in me, believe in her. For us, the soldiers of our land will get out from this misery" All I could do is to strengthen myself as well as their motivation to fight. If they have no will to fight, then this battle ends right now.

But their numbers are overwhelming. It's like they have chosen to attack us without our master. Impossible, they attack us by their instinct and not by anyone's advent. What is happening?

"Vice-captain! This one is turning berserk! We can't handle it. Let us fall back and let the archers take it from here!" Beatrice shouted.

"We can't. The barrier is weak. We're gonna die if we stop here." My hands froze at the sudden pain I felt deep within my chest. It's ripping me off. One soldier has been eaten.

"VICE CAPTAIN!"

"PIERRE!"

She's here.

They're here.

"Fear not for I am here. I, the first queen who swore to protect thy kingdom and thy land stand with every single vampire and with every single human"

I kept my eyes open as her entire body raged with power. Truly terrifying. Her immense power is nothing to the X-species, the power of the noblest blood, the pureblood. Her ability is 'DEATH'.

One chant and none of the X-species remained.

The cries and the screams were now gone. I let my body crash onto the ground, supported myself with just my hands. I'm still incomparable with her.

"My Queen!" One soldier came running across the field. His eyes filled with fear. I also noticed his hands shaking and trembling, unable to continue what he was trying to say.

The Queen looked at him, turned in his direction, and waited for this one soldier terrified for something. "What is?"

"One specie has remained. It didn't die from your spell, my queen." My eyes twitched from what he said.

"Did you just say that the queen's power is not enough for one single specie to remain?" raising my voice, I felt a hand on my shoulder. Vice-Commander, Kiel.

"Explain it clearly, soldier. Toss your doubts and fears away. I don't need it" she replied, sternly.

We were found in silence. He composed himself. Took a deep breath and clenched his fists. "M-my brother, Pierre- he's been bitten! he's turning into an X-Specie."

"Nonsense!" Captain Jake retorted

"I'm sure of it! His whole body hasn't become one of it yet. He's still there. I beg you, my queen. Please. Please, save my brother"

"We cannot identify it fully, my queen. I believe we lack the resources to continue the research about him. Our researchers are specialized in the aspect of technology. I'm sorry, my queen."

If they take the form of us, vampires. If they multiply because of us. I could say it is possible. The mastermind of this is just a half-vampire and a half-mortal traitor.

His body has not yet eaten. However, his vampire wounds are not regenerating. After a while, vampires' regenerative abilities are much faster than humans so it's not that easy to kill us.

"But my hometown, Ralaine- must have the facilities and researches that could take on this case. He is a valuable subject to us. We can't stop here, my queen." Ralaine Kingdom. I see.

I smiled. It's no doubt that I came here. Fred Vild. My Father's trusted kin. He's related to us and his intellectual capabilities are way beyond us when it comes to technology and to the X-species.

"The subject must remain here and all must be alert to whatever might happen." The researchers have offered their respect and salute "You all have my trust, I believe in all of my soldiers"
